0:00:01 > 0:00:03Thanks for tuning in to our regular weather update
0:00:03 > 0:00:04for the next ten days or so.
0:00:04 > 0:00:08We have a look at the weather trends from around about day six to day ten.
0:00:08 > 0:00:11The details, first of all, for the next few days.
0:00:11 > 0:00:12We're going to start with the weekend.
0:00:12 > 0:00:15There is a little bit of rain in the forecast.
0:00:15 > 0:00:17You can see here across parts of Yorkshire
0:00:17 > 0:00:19into Lincolnshire some spots of rain,
0:00:19 > 0:00:20then some showers on the way
0:00:20 > 0:00:21across the Pennines and Scotland.
0:00:21 > 0:00:23But to the south of that,
0:00:23 > 0:00:25I think all the way from the London area,
0:00:25 > 0:00:26certainly Essex, East Anglia,
0:00:26 > 0:00:29the South Midlands down into the Southwest,
0:00:29 > 0:00:30it should be a dry day.
0:00:30 > 0:00:31You can just about pick out
0:00:31 > 0:00:37a couple of light showers here.
0:00:37 > 0:00:40We're really talking about just 10-15 minutes of rain
0:00:40 > 0:00:42with a bit of sun in between.
0:00:42 > 0:00:45That sort of weather is anticipated across the Pennines,
0:00:45 > 0:00:47perhaps northern parts of Scotland.
0:00:47 > 0:00:49Northern Ireland probably getting away with a dry day.
0:00:49 > 0:00:51You can see it's a bit fresher here
0:00:51 > 0:00:53compared to the south of the country,
0:00:53 > 0:00:5615 there in Belfast, 16 in Glasgow.
0:00:56 > 0:00:58Now for the following night,
0:00:58 > 0:01:02this is Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday.
0:01:02 > 0:01:04Notice this area of rain.
0:01:04 > 0:01:05It's across the northern portion
0:01:05 > 0:01:08of the North Sea and it's curving back into Scotland.
0:01:08 > 0:01:10Now what's happening across this part
0:01:10 > 0:01:13of the British Isles is an area of low pressure
0:01:13 > 0:01:15is actually intensifying.
0:01:15 > 0:01:16It's reinvigorating itself.
0:01:16 > 0:01:19It's been sitting here for quite some time.
0:01:19 > 0:01:22This effectively translates to stronger winds
0:01:22 > 0:01:25for eastern parts of Scotland and a period of rain,
0:01:25 > 0:01:28so anywhere from northern Scotland, around Moray,
0:01:28 > 0:01:29into Aberdeenshire, possibly Fife,
0:01:29 > 0:01:32we're thinking generally north of Edinburgh,
0:01:32 > 0:01:34it could be quite a wet, cool, unpleasant,
0:01:34 > 0:01:36breezy sort of day.
0:01:36 > 0:01:37That's the exception there.
0:01:37 > 0:01:39You can see 13 in Aberdeen.
0:01:39 > 0:01:41To the south of that, a completely different story.
0:01:41 > 0:01:43It should be a bright day,
0:01:43 > 0:01:44fine day, really, for most of us
0:01:44 > 0:01:46with temperatures in the high teens
0:01:46 > 0:01:48or round about the low 20s.
0:01:48 > 0:01:50That low pressure, we finally say goodbye to it
0:01:50 > 0:01:52through the course of Monday,
0:01:52 > 0:01:54but it very slowly just drifts away.
0:01:54 > 0:01:56This high tucks in behind it.
0:01:56 > 0:01:59So if you can imagine the area of low pressure here,
0:01:59 > 0:02:01the high pressure's here, it's tucking in,
0:02:01 > 0:02:04bringing much drier, brighter, sunnier conditions
0:02:04 > 0:02:06to most parts of the country.
0:02:06 > 0:02:09But the cool air still remains, though, across Scotland.
0:02:09 > 0:02:11The high early next week -
0:02:11 > 0:02:14this is Monday and Tuesday we're talking about -
0:02:14 > 0:02:16really sits on top of the country.
0:02:16 > 0:02:17That means light winds
0:02:17 > 0:02:21with sunshine and a bit of cloud stuck as well.
0:02:21 > 0:02:23So what I'm trying to say is that many of us
0:02:23 > 0:02:25will have dry weather with some sunshine,
0:02:25 > 0:02:27but a few of us, unfortunately, will be stuck underneath
0:02:27 > 0:02:30the grey skies through much of the day.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31It really is going to be a question
0:02:31 > 0:02:33of trying to get the right details
0:02:33 > 0:02:36of precisely how much sunshine we're going to get.
0:02:36 > 0:02:38You can see as we head into midweek next week
0:02:38 > 0:02:41there's a low here and a high here.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43What does that mean schematically?
0:02:43 > 0:02:45Well, very light winds across the UK
0:02:45 > 0:02:47with the high pressure, that's for sure,
0:02:47 > 0:02:49so in the sunshine it'll feel fairly warm.
0:02:49 > 0:02:51But you can see there's a lot of rain here
0:02:51 > 0:02:53around this area of low pressure,
0:02:53 > 0:02:55and it's not a million miles away from us.
0:02:55 > 0:02:59So we're thinking that at least middle of next week
0:02:59 > 0:03:01with that high here and the low here,
0:03:01 > 0:03:03you can see how these highs and lows spin,
0:03:03 > 0:03:04they drag in warmer air,
0:03:04 > 0:03:09but later in that period here, this low will come closer to the UK
0:03:09 > 0:03:13and possibly bring the threat of some rain to the southwest of the country.
0:03:13 > 0:03:15But that's still a long way off.
0:03:15 > 0:03:18I think overall we want to emphasise that there will be little rain,
0:03:18 > 0:03:19it should be warm by day,
0:03:19 > 0:03:23but the nights are going to be a little on the chilly side.
0:03:23 > 0:03:24So that's it, those are our thoughts
0:03:24 > 0:03:26for the next ten days or so. Bye.
0:03:29 > 0:03:32Tom, I've kept a secret from you.
0:03:32 > 0:03:37I never meant to lie to you. I just did what I thought I had to.
0:03:37 > 0:03:42The quieter you keep a secret, the louder it explodes.
0:03:43 > 0:03:44Why?!
0:03:44 > 0:03:46Tell me now!
0:03:46 > 0:03:47Tell me the truth!
0:03:49 > 0:03:51I don't know what's happening.
0:03:51 > 0:03:52I don't know what I'm doing.
