0:00:00 > 0:00:03Hello - time to take a look at the next five days' worth of weather,

0:00:03 > 0:00:05then we take a peek beyond that into the six to ten-day period

0:00:05 > 0:00:09to see what the general trends are in the longer term.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Short-term, a cold start to the day on Tuesday,

0:00:12 > 0:00:14with patches of mist and fog.

0:00:14 > 0:00:15That should lift through the morning.

0:00:15 > 0:00:17Into the afternoon, it looks pretty good

0:00:17 > 0:00:20across pretty much all parts of the UK.

0:00:20 > 0:00:21Might see a spot of rain

0:00:21 > 0:00:23for the Northern and Western Isles of Scotland.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25For much of the mainland, some cloud in the North,

0:00:25 > 0:00:27but doing well temperature-wise -

0:00:27 > 0:00:2916 or so degrees in Inverness, 17 in Glasgow,

0:00:29 > 0:00:30and I think we should see sunny spells

0:00:30 > 0:00:32through the Central Lowlands.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34Across to Northern England, it's sunny spells

0:00:34 > 0:00:36through the afternoon, some warmth -

0:00:36 > 0:00:3819-20 degrees in Leeds.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40We should be into the low 20s quite widely

0:00:40 > 0:00:42across the Southern counties of England.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Again, patchy cloud and sunny spells.

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Light winds, too, and with temperatures

0:00:45 > 0:00:47in the low 20s, quite a pleasant feel to things

0:00:47 > 0:00:50right down towards Cornwall and Devon.

0:00:50 > 0:00:51Across Wales as well,

0:00:51 > 0:00:53light winds, sunny spells,

0:00:53 > 0:00:54temperatures into the low 20s,

0:00:54 > 0:00:55though around Cardigan Bay,

0:00:55 > 0:00:57it's more like the upper teens -

0:00:57 > 0:00:58still, a decent day, here,

0:00:58 > 0:01:00as it will be in Northern Ireland.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Again, patchy cloud, sunny spells

0:01:02 > 0:01:04and 18 or so degrees in Belfast.

0:01:04 > 0:01:05Light winds, too,

0:01:05 > 0:01:06so a pleasant feel to things

0:01:06 > 0:01:08pretty much across the board.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10Through the evening, overnight, I think

0:01:10 > 0:01:11the cloud will tend to melt away.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13We'll see clear spells again,

0:01:13 > 0:01:15some mist and fog forming in a few places.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17Major towns and cities holding up

0:01:17 > 0:01:18at around ten or 11 degrees.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21In rural spots, it will go well into single figures.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23Again, a chilly start to the day on Wednesday

0:01:23 > 0:01:25but it should be another decent day.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27We're firmly under this area of high pressure,

0:01:27 > 0:01:29drifting a little further northwards.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31That allows the breeze to pick up a little

0:01:31 > 0:01:33on the South coast.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35Apart from that, we'll have a pretty decent day.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38I think there will be a lot of cloud around central and Eastern areas.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40That cloud, drifting in from the North Sea.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43It'll be a bit cloudy here, but move further West,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46break up the cloud, some spells of sunshine,

0:01:46 > 0:01:4820 degrees with some sunny spells in Glasgow

0:01:48 > 0:01:52and 20 degrees with some cloud in London.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55Again, into Thursday, this area of high pressure

0:01:55 > 0:01:57is still with us but it is tending

0:01:57 > 0:01:59to drift away towards the North,

0:01:59 > 0:02:00but it'll influence our weather

0:02:00 > 0:02:02through the latter part of the week,

0:02:02 > 0:02:05keeping things essentially fine and settled.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08May well be a fair bit of cloud associated with that -

0:02:08 > 0:02:11again, central and Eastern parts will be fairly cloudy,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13but even under that, I think it will be bright enough.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15Maybe some early mist and fog in some spots,

0:02:15 > 0:02:18but, again, many Western areas, some parts of the North,

0:02:18 > 0:02:19enjoying a pretty decent day.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21The high is still with us towards the end of the week,

0:02:21 > 0:02:24keeping fronts well to the North and West of us,

0:02:24 > 0:02:26and it keeps this area of low pressure well to the South.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28But the low is trying to creep its way in.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30It doesn't really have any influence

0:02:30 > 0:02:32on our weather during Friday.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35It'll be another day of variable cloud, sunny spells.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Where you get the sunshine, it's pleasantly warm

0:02:37 > 0:02:39because winds are mostly fairly light,

0:02:39 > 0:02:40though the breeze picks up a little

0:02:40 > 0:02:42towards the start of the weekend.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Still, we're keeping this low at bay,

0:02:44 > 0:02:48though it is creeping a bit closer towards our shores.

0:02:48 > 0:02:49Again, on Saturday,

0:02:49 > 0:02:52it's variable cloud, sunny spells,

0:02:52 > 0:02:53into the low 20s.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55Where you get the sunshine, it's very pleasant,

0:02:55 > 0:02:56but underneath the cloud,

0:02:56 > 0:02:59I suppose, a little bit disappointing.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02What happens beyond then? Does the high stick around?

0:03:02 > 0:03:04Some models actually keep the high across our shores,

0:03:04 > 0:03:07which will bring some fine weather, but the preferred solution

0:03:07 > 0:03:09is for the high to retreat, pressure falls,

0:03:09 > 0:03:12then things are set to turn that bit more unsettled.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15So, it looks as if we'll see that high drift away towards

0:03:15 > 0:03:16the North and East,

0:03:16 > 0:03:19then that big low on the Southwest approaches,

0:03:19 > 0:03:21it'll just creep its way towards our shores,

0:03:21 > 0:03:24so that'll bring increasing winds, increasing amounts of cloud,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26and eventually, we'll begin to see some rain.

0:03:26 > 0:03:27Bye for now.
