0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello there. It's that time where we take a look

0:00:05 > 0:00:07at the next five day's worth of weather.

0:00:07 > 0:00:10Then we go a bit beyond that and have a peak at the 6 to 10 day

0:00:10 > 0:00:13period to see what the general trends are in the longer term outlook.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15Short term, a chilly start to the day in the North

0:00:15 > 0:00:18and the West of the UK with a few patches of mist and fog.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21The mist and fog should disappear quite readily

0:00:21 > 0:00:23and then we're looking at a pretty decent day across the board.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26There will be some thicker cloud to the far North of Scotland.

0:00:26 > 0:00:28Maybe a spot of rain up towards Shetland,

0:00:28 > 0:00:30but that will be about it in terms of rainfall.

0:00:30 > 0:00:31Across Scotland, a bit more

0:00:31 > 0:00:33in the way of sunshine than what we saw on Tuesday,

0:00:33 > 0:00:34so temperatures should be higher -

0:00:34 > 0:00:3620 degrees in Glasgow - very pleasant.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38We're into the low 20s across Northern England.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41There will be a bit more cloud across Eastern England compared with

0:00:41 > 0:00:44Tuesday, but even with that cloud, it's a

0:00:44 > 0:00:46dry story and the clouds should break-up in places, so we'll

0:00:46 > 0:00:49see some bright or sunny spells and about 20 degrees in London.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51Bit of a breeze on the South coast

0:00:51 > 0:00:54and that will be quite noticeable, particularly in Cornwall.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56But apart from that, it's a lovely afternoon -

0:00:56 > 0:00:5819/20 degrees with some sunshine.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01Tainted somewhat by the breeze, but a decent afternoon.

0:01:01 > 0:01:04Into Wales, the wind is that bit lighter, 20/21 degrees,

0:01:04 > 0:01:06patchy cloud, plenty of sunshine.

0:01:06 > 0:01:07A very nice afternoon here,

0:01:07 > 0:01:11and patchy cloud and some sunny spells in Northern Ireland.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13As we go through the evening, it's a fine and dry look to things.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15A lot of that cloud in the East will tend to melt away.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Then it turns chilly again in some rural spots

0:01:18 > 0:01:20and a good signal for fog in Northern Ireland

0:01:20 > 0:01:23and Southern Scotland by dawn on Thursday.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25Rural spots will be into single figures.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Thursday looks like another pretty decent day,

0:01:28 > 0:01:29still dominated by high pressure.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32It's keeping the weather fronts well to the North and West of us.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34This deep low to the South and West of the UK, well,

0:01:34 > 0:01:38that too kept at bay by the strength of the high across our shores.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40So a decent day on Thursday.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43A bit chilly to the North and the West first thing, and we will

0:01:43 > 0:01:46see a bit of cloud drifting in from the North sea but it should stay dry.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49The best of the sunny spells the further North and West you go

0:01:49 > 0:01:51and it will be quite warm.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54Belfast up to 20 degrees, another 20 degree day in Glasgow, and in

0:01:54 > 0:01:58spite of the extra cloud in London, we are up to 20 Celsius once again.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Towards the end of the week, the high is still a dominant force -

0:02:01 > 0:02:03it keeps those weather fronts out into the Atlantic

0:02:03 > 0:02:05and it keeps that low way to the South of us.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08Notice that low is just slowly creeping its way towards us

0:02:08 > 0:02:11and it might become a player early next week.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13But to end this week, it's fine

0:02:13 > 0:02:15and dry once again across the United Kingdom.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17A fair bit of cloud around,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19but I think the cloud will be breaking in places.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21There's some bright or sunny spells, and again,

0:02:21 > 0:02:23quite warm - 21/22 degrees in London.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Then, into the start of the weekend.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28The high pressure is still dominating things across the UK,

0:02:28 > 0:02:31but notice that low is getting ever closer.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34I suspect it's not going to be much of a player through the weekend.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36We're looking at another decent day on Saturday.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39A fair bit of cloud for some central and Eastern areas, the best

0:02:39 > 0:02:41of the sunny spells again the further North and West you go,

0:02:41 > 0:02:44but we're into the low 20s so quite warm.

0:02:44 > 0:02:45Second part of the weekend,

0:02:45 > 0:02:48the high is slowly drifting away towards the North.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50The winds are picking up in the South, but that area of low

0:02:50 > 0:02:53pressure stays out towards the South and the West, so a decent day

0:02:53 > 0:02:56on Sunday. Again, a fair bit of cloud around but it should break in places,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58so some bright or sunny spells coming through.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01Those temperatures doing quite well - 17 or so in Glasgow,

0:03:01 > 0:03:0419 to 21 in London.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06And now into the 6 - 10 day period.

0:03:06 > 0:03:08Monday the 15th looks like a pretty decent day,

0:03:08 > 0:03:11but from Tuesday through Wednesday and on to Thursday,

0:03:11 > 0:03:14that's when we see the high really retreating, pressure beginning to

0:03:14 > 0:03:16fall and things turning that bit more unsettled.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19So there's the high, drifting off towards Scandinavia.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21It does allow that low to get ever closer.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25It's a slow transition through Tuesday into Thursday.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28Most of the models do agree that this low will eventually move its way

0:03:28 > 0:03:30in to bring increasingly unsettled weather.
