0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello. If you've enjoyed the weather recently,

0:00:05 > 0:00:07you'll be pleased with what is coming up in the week ahead.

0:00:07 > 0:00:10Although if you have started to water the garden again it's been

0:00:10 > 0:00:14so dry, there is at least a chance for a bit of rain as a week

0:00:14 > 0:00:16weather disturbance comes across the North Sea towards us

0:00:16 > 0:00:18during the first part of the week.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21But the overall weather pattern is staying the same.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23We've been showing you this recently,

0:00:23 > 0:00:26this swirl of cloud towards the southwest of the UK.

0:00:26 > 0:00:30A stationary area of low pressure so the rain from this has been kept

0:00:30 > 0:00:35at bay by an area of high pressure, a blocking high in Scandinavia.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37So our weather pattern is just stuck in a rut.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40We are caught in between these two weather systems

0:00:40 > 0:00:45but here is a weaker one that will move in an easterly flow towards us

0:00:45 > 0:00:49through the first part of the week, bringing at least some of us rain.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52But for Sunday, most are dry again.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55There is a risk of getting a shower in South East England.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58Early cloud in the East may produce patchy drizzle,

0:00:58 > 0:01:00not amounting to much.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03Warm spells of sunshine developing after a cloudy start

0:01:03 > 0:01:06so where you get those into the afternoon, high teens, even low 20s.

0:01:06 > 0:01:10But a more noticeable easterly breeze across southern areas there is

0:01:10 > 0:01:13a chance of a hit and miss shower. Elsewhere it is dry.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16A lot of cloud North East England and eastern Scotland.

0:01:16 > 0:01:18Best of the sunshine Northern Ireland to the West.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21In North West Scotland, around 20 Celsius.

0:01:21 > 0:01:22More cloud in the central belt,

0:01:22 > 0:01:26keeping temperatures about down compared with Saturday.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30From Sunday into Monday, the weather disturbance in Denmark

0:01:30 > 0:01:33on the move across the North Sea so a weather front coming our way.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35We haven't seen one of those for a while

0:01:35 > 0:01:39and that will bring some of us some wet weather, in the form of outbreaks

0:01:39 > 0:01:43of rain edging into North East England and eastern Scotland.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45The odd shower travelling a bit further west.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47There will be sunny spells to be had in the south

0:01:47 > 0:01:50and west in particular and again some warmth in the sunshine,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52temperatures creeping into the low 20s,

0:01:52 > 0:01:55particularly towards the southeast of England.

0:01:55 > 0:01:59Where you have got rain, temperatures held down with a noticeable breeze.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03Into Tuesday, that weather disturbance is still close by,

0:02:03 > 0:02:07particularly in eastern Scotland with the threat of rain.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10Some brightness to the south and west and warm sunshine too.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12That is a sign of things to come going through the week

0:02:12 > 0:02:16because we will bring some gradually warmer weather into southern

0:02:16 > 0:02:21areas, temperatures into the low 20s, 23, 24 degrees in the warm spots.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23But still on Wednesday, towards the northeast of the UK,

0:02:23 > 0:02:25and still on Thursday into north

0:02:25 > 0:02:29and northeast of Scotland breezy with the chance of a bit of rain.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32But many other places will be dry.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34By the time we get to Thursday, you will be struck by this,

0:02:34 > 0:02:36the weather pattern is still the same.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39There is the area of low pressure to the southwest of us

0:02:39 > 0:02:41and there is the area of high pressure to the northeast.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44So, if you're not happy with this weather pattern you need

0:02:44 > 0:02:47something to change, something to jog the pattern.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50This has the potential to do it, Tropical Storm Edouard.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53Likely to become a hurricane in the Atlantic

0:02:53 > 0:02:57and start to move northwards and possibly influence our weather,

0:02:57 > 0:03:02not directly but in a way jogging that weather pattern and starting

0:03:02 > 0:03:05to allow weather systems to come our way and turn things more unsettled.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08But at the moment, that looks like a low risk

0:03:08 > 0:03:10because going into next weekend it looks as

0:03:10 > 0:03:13if we'll still have the status quo, low pressure here,

0:03:13 > 0:03:18high pressure there and we are caught in between with mainly dry weather.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20So no significant change any time soon.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Even into next weekend, many will be dry.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Still some warmth if you get some sunshine, especially in the South.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27A risk of one or two showers and thunderstorms,

0:03:27 > 0:03:28especially in the South.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30That's it from me. Good night.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33Did the 1966 World Cup

0:03:33 > 0:03:35mark the birth of modern football?

0:03:35 > 0:03:38Would we starve without bees?

0:03:38 > 0:03:40Why do Buddhists meditate?

0:03:40 > 0:03:43Is rocket science easier than you think?

0:03:43 > 0:03:48Well, BBC iWonder is full of great questions

0:03:48 > 0:03:51for curious people like us. They just keep on coming.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53Luckily, they have the answers as well.
