0:00:04 > 0:00:07Hello. There is a pattern to the weather at the moment, and that is

0:00:07 > 0:00:10likely to continue for the next few days before the pattern breaks during

0:00:10 > 0:00:12the weekend and into next week. More in a moment.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15First of all, the next few days - we continue with these grey and

0:00:15 > 0:00:17misty mornings before many of us

0:00:17 > 0:00:20get some warm sunshine by the afternoon, but that brings

0:00:20 > 0:00:24an increasing chance of some heavy and thundery showers,

0:00:24 > 0:00:26all courtesy of this area of low pressure,

0:00:26 > 0:00:28which will eventually exert its influence.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31It's been sitting there for more than a week now.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Ahead of it, this easterly airflow.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36That's dragging in all the low cloud again,

0:00:36 > 0:00:38so a misty, murky start and patchy fog, too,

0:00:38 > 0:00:40will break the cloud up and get the sunshine

0:00:40 > 0:00:42across these more sheltered western areas,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44then eventually in the South,

0:00:44 > 0:00:45but for many eastern areas of Scotland,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47perhaps even eastern England,

0:00:47 > 0:00:49it could stay cool and grey all day.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51But a lovely afternoon for Wales

0:00:51 > 0:00:52and Southern England -

0:00:52 > 0:00:54warm and humid, temperatures widely

0:00:54 > 0:00:55the low- to mid-20s.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57Cooler, though, where it stays cloudy,

0:00:57 > 0:00:58and a little damp maybe

0:00:58 > 0:01:00for the East Midlands, across Norfolk,

0:01:00 > 0:01:02more likely across the Northeast of England.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05Better, though, to the other side of the Pennines,

0:01:05 > 0:01:07and a slow improvement for Northern Ireland.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Western Scotland should see some sunshine eventually.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Eastern Scotland cool and grey

0:01:11 > 0:01:13and a bit of rain from time to time as well.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15Into Thursday,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17we've still got that easterly airflow

0:01:17 > 0:01:19so a grey, misty, murky start.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21Low cloud retreating back to the Northeast

0:01:21 > 0:01:24but this time, although we'll get some sunshine,

0:01:24 > 0:01:26we're going to import some heavy and potentially

0:01:26 > 0:01:28thundery showers into the Southwest

0:01:28 > 0:01:30and, possibly later, southern central England.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32So, temperature contrasts again -

0:01:32 > 0:01:34cooler, cloudier in the Northeast,

0:01:34 > 0:01:35warmer in the sunshine,

0:01:35 > 0:01:37possibly 26 degrees, actually,

0:01:37 > 0:01:38in the Southeast of England.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Very warm for the time of year.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42That low pressure still around,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44still throwing forward these showers

0:01:44 > 0:01:47and probably more showers, actually,

0:01:47 > 0:01:48as we head into Friday,

0:01:48 > 0:01:50and not just across Southern England,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52But pushing northwards into Wales,

0:01:52 > 0:01:53into the Midlands as well.

0:01:53 > 0:01:54These showers could be heavy

0:01:54 > 0:01:56and possibly thundery.

0:01:56 > 0:01:57Further north, slowly brightening up

0:01:57 > 0:01:59with some sunshine, but again,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02a bit of a struggle into eastern areas of Scotland,

0:02:02 > 0:02:03so a bit cooler and greyer here

0:02:03 > 0:02:05and although we'll get some sunshine,

0:02:05 > 0:02:07those temperatures may not be quite as high

0:02:07 > 0:02:10on Friday, because those showers are dotted about.

0:02:10 > 0:02:11Maybe a little hit-and-miss,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13but certainly on the heavy side.

0:02:13 > 0:02:14By the time we get into the weekend,

0:02:14 > 0:02:16this low pressure is starting to pull away,

0:02:16 > 0:02:18taking away most of the showers,

0:02:18 > 0:02:19allowing high-pressure to topple in

0:02:19 > 0:02:22from the Atlantic, but ahead of that,

0:02:22 > 0:02:24a weak weather front will bring

0:02:24 > 0:02:25more cloud and a little rain

0:02:25 > 0:02:27down into Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30England and Wales seeing some sunshine but for a while,

0:02:30 > 0:02:31there will be some heavy and still

0:02:31 > 0:02:33potentially thundery showers.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35Those will retreat back into the near continent.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Still quite warm, actually, on Saturday.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40On Sunday, maybe not quite as warm.

0:02:40 > 0:02:41The air's just that little bit cooler

0:02:41 > 0:02:43because the high-pressure

0:02:43 > 0:02:44is building in from the Atlantic, but

0:02:44 > 0:02:47many places will have a dry day

0:02:47 > 0:02:49on Sunday, with some sunshine.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51So the pattern changes over the weekend,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53with high-pressure building in,

0:02:53 > 0:02:54but how long will it stay?

0:02:54 > 0:02:56Well, it looks like Edouard,

0:02:56 > 0:02:57ex-Hurricane Edouard,

0:02:57 > 0:02:59hardly seen on the chart,

0:02:59 > 0:03:00is not going to bother us.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02High-pressure is in mid-Atlantic,

0:03:02 > 0:03:04everything steered round the top of that.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06Depressions get picked up by the jet stream,

0:03:06 > 0:03:08which is in a more normal position

0:03:08 > 0:03:09for this time of year, and it

0:03:09 > 0:03:12gives us a more normal weather pattern,

0:03:12 > 0:03:13if you like, into next week,

0:03:13 > 0:03:15so with higher pressure more towards

0:03:15 > 0:03:16the Southeast of the UK,

0:03:16 > 0:03:18here it should be largely dry and bright

0:03:18 > 0:03:19with some sunshine.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21Not quite as warm as it is right now.

0:03:21 > 0:03:22Further northwest

0:03:22 > 0:03:24there'll be some cloud and rain and stronger wind at times,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26but still a lot of uncertainty

0:03:26 > 0:03:29about the details as we head into next week. Goodbye.

0:03:32 > 0:03:33Espionage...

0:03:33 > 0:03:34Who would possibly assassinate him?

0:03:34 > 0:03:36This is a minefield.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37..deception...

0:03:37 > 0:03:39There's so much more to this story than I thought. Wow.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41..and even murder.

0:03:41 > 0:03:43With a knife! Real shock.

0:03:43 > 0:03:44Unravelling the mysteries

0:03:44 > 0:03:45of their family tree.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47A baker! Well, I'm damned.
