0:00:04 > 0:00:06Hello. September so far has been exceptionally dry across the UK.

0:00:06 > 0:00:08We are expecting some rain this week,

0:00:08 > 0:00:11much of that in the Northwest of the UK.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13By the end of this week we could see another

0:00:13 > 0:00:16couple of inches for parts of Western Scotland,

0:00:16 > 0:00:20around 20 to 40 millimetres expected for Southwest Scotland down

0:00:20 > 0:00:22through Northwest England and North Wales.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25But the rest of the UK seeing very little.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28The reason for that is pressure remains relatively high,

0:00:28 > 0:00:32so although there are going to be some weather fronts across the UK

0:00:32 > 0:00:34they move down as relatively weak features,

0:00:34 > 0:00:36not producing a huge amount of rain.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39And in fact we start Tuesday with one of those fronts

0:00:39 > 0:00:42sitting across Northern England, clearing away from Northern Ireland

0:00:42 > 0:00:47and by the afternoon bringing the chance of some rain to North Wales.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50To the South, after some early morning mist and fog, it becomes

0:00:50 > 0:00:52drier and brighter with some sunny spells for the afternoon.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55Staying fairly cloudy across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland

0:00:55 > 0:00:59with some more rain returning here for the end of the day.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02Temperatures in Glasgow and Belfast 14 to 15 degrees, further South

0:01:02 > 0:01:05we are looking at the high teens with the possibility of 20 in London.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08We have still got those weather fronts with us

0:01:08 > 0:01:10through Tuesday night and into Wednesday,

0:01:10 > 0:01:14but they are clearing Eastwards, allowing the high to build back in.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17But the legacy of those weather fronts leaving us a little bit

0:01:17 > 0:01:20overcast first thing on Wednesday morning with some patchy

0:01:20 > 0:01:22outbreaks of rain, much of that fairly light,

0:01:22 > 0:01:25and by the afternoon it has cleared away so we finish fine

0:01:25 > 0:01:29and dry with some bright or even some sunny spells.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33Temperatures to the South still high teens, possibly the low 20s,

0:01:33 > 0:01:37and around 14 to 15 for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41By the time we reach Thursday that high is pushing in across the UK.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44Still the potential for the end of the week for some of these weather

0:01:44 > 0:01:48fronts in the Atlantic to brush past Northern Scotland

0:01:48 > 0:01:51and you'll notice the isobars quite tightly packed together.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54The winds will pick up for Thursday and Friday.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56A little bit breezy across the North of the UK.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00It's looking fairly overcast. Any rain quite patchy and light

0:02:00 > 0:02:03and mostly across the Northwest of the UK

0:02:03 > 0:02:07with temperatures climbing up a degree or so at 16 to 18 degrees.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Again on Friday it's looking quite cloudy.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11Some mist and fog possible in the South

0:02:11 > 0:02:14where we are looking at some brighter spells by the afternoon

0:02:14 > 0:02:16lifting temperatures to 22 degrees.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20And of course on Friday we've got the Ryder Cup starting. As far

0:02:20 > 0:02:23as the weather is concerned it looks like it should be dry.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26The wind perhaps more of a concern for the golfers.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Quite a strong Westerly wind on Friday,

0:02:28 > 0:02:31but they will be falling lighter as the weekend goes on.

0:02:31 > 0:02:35The strong winds becoming confined to the North of Scotland

0:02:35 > 0:02:37throughout the weekend where you can see many places dry,

0:02:37 > 0:02:41a little bit overcast at times, still on the warm side with many

0:02:41 > 0:02:44places seeing temperatures in the high teens.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46And really this is where we would expect the temperatures

0:02:46 > 0:02:48for the end of September.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50And by the end of the weekend we are looking at around 16,

0:02:50 > 0:02:5317 degrees for Scotland and Northern Ireland, still

0:02:53 > 0:02:58staying in the low 20s for Southern counties of England and Wales.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01And into next week it still looks like this

0:03:01 > 0:03:03high pressure is going to remain with us.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05Fairly high confidence in the forecast that we're not

0:03:05 > 0:03:07expecting much rain as we look in to next week.

0:03:07 > 0:03:11What that high is doing is deflecting all of our low-pressure systems,

0:03:11 > 0:03:14rain-bearing weather fronts, away from the UK.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17They could at times affect parts of the Northwest,

0:03:17 > 0:03:20so here it's more likely to be unsettled.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23And just the confidence in the forecast a little bit

0:03:23 > 0:03:26lower on the details of how far South those fronts are likely to spread,

0:03:26 > 0:03:29but we'll keep you up-to-date on the forecast. Bye for now.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35CHATTER

0:03:37 > 0:03:40I put my arms over my son and I put my leg over my daughter,

0:03:40 > 0:03:42then the footsteps got closer and closer

0:03:42 > 0:03:43and then the shooting began.
