0:00:03 > 0:00:06Whilst there was some rain across parts of the UK on Tuesday,

0:00:06 > 0:00:09we're not forecasting a huge amount for the coming week ahead.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Through the night, we've still got some patchy rain

0:00:12 > 0:00:15courtesy of weather fronts that are clearing their way eastwards,

0:00:15 > 0:00:18but you can see high pressure toppling in behind.

0:00:18 > 0:00:19That's clearing the skies

0:00:19 > 0:00:22across Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:00:22 > 0:00:23So, through the morning,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25some bright and breezy weather here,

0:00:25 > 0:00:27a little bit more cloud for England and Wales.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Still some of those showers around.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31One or two left behind come the afternoon.

0:00:31 > 0:00:35But, for many, it's going to be dry and bright.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Temperatures across England and Wales

0:00:37 > 0:00:39where we do get some sunshine,

0:00:39 > 0:00:40around 18 or 19 degrees.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43For Scotland and Northern Ireland, 14-15.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45On Thursday, we will see high pressure

0:00:45 > 0:00:46building to the South

0:00:46 > 0:00:47although there are some weak fronts

0:00:47 > 0:00:50across the Northern half of the UK.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52They are picking up more moisture

0:00:52 > 0:00:54as they arrive on that westerly wind,

0:00:54 > 0:00:55so cloudier skies here

0:00:55 > 0:00:58and there could be some patchy, light rain and drizzle.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01Much of the wet weather across North-western and Western areas.

0:01:01 > 0:01:05Not a great deal for Eastern Scotland and Eastern England.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07Always the best of any dry, bright conditions

0:01:07 > 0:01:09for Southern counties of England.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Here, temperatures on Thursday up a degree or so,

0:01:11 > 0:01:14we could see highs of 20 or 21 degrees.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18And despite those overcast skies elsewhere, highs of 16-18,

0:01:18 > 0:01:21so slightly above average for the time of year.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23It stays generally warm on Friday, although, again,

0:01:23 > 0:01:27we have another, weak front moving through our high.

0:01:27 > 0:01:28As it heads South,

0:01:28 > 0:01:31it's not producing a huge amount of rain,

0:01:31 > 0:01:33but it does look like it will give

0:01:33 > 0:01:35a cloudier day across England and Wales.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39But behind it, clearer skies for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42So we are expecting more sunshine to the North on Friday.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45Still fairly breezy with temperatures at 15-16 degrees

0:01:45 > 0:01:48and warm in the South at 19-21.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51It stays mild throughout the weekend.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53That South-westerly breeze dragging in more cloud

0:01:53 > 0:01:55with some patchy light rain and drizzle

0:01:55 > 0:01:57to the North-west corner,

0:01:57 > 0:01:59a little bit cloudy further South,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02but given some brightness, highs of 19 to 20 degrees.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Warmer still on Sunday at 22 in London.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08Lighter winds in the North,

0:02:08 > 0:02:11a mainly dry picture, if often quite cloudy.

0:02:11 > 0:02:12Even into next week,

0:02:12 > 0:02:15our high is still sitting across the UK,

0:02:15 > 0:02:16the dominant feature.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18It's blocking these weather systems,

0:02:18 > 0:02:20low pressure out in the Atlantic,

0:02:20 > 0:02:23taking the rainfall North towards Iceland.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26But just how long is this pattern set to last?

0:02:26 > 0:02:29When we look at our longer range forecast,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32we compare a number of different computer models.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35This gives you an idea as to what we would typically expect.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39As the day goes on, those models tend to spread with their solutions

0:02:39 > 0:02:42so it gives us quite a high level of uncertainty

0:02:42 > 0:02:44in the forecast out to day 10.

0:02:44 > 0:02:48But what's currently happening is those computer models

0:02:48 > 0:02:50are giving us very similar solutions.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53So high confidence in the fact that we're keeping

0:02:53 > 0:02:57a dry picture with high pressure close to the UK.

0:02:57 > 0:03:02The question mark comes in the detail. Especially to the Northwest.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05Quite how close those low-pressure systems will bring some cloud

0:03:05 > 0:03:07and outbreaks of light rain,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09most likely staying in the North-west corner,

0:03:09 > 0:03:13but at times we could see some further weak fronts moving South,

0:03:13 > 0:03:18producing some patchy light rain and drizzle. But essentially,

0:03:18 > 0:03:21the forecast into next week is going to stay mostly dry.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25More likely to see some rainfall in the North-west corner of the UK

0:03:25 > 0:03:28with temperatures staying above average, so staying pretty warm.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30More detail on our website.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34'Espionage...' Who would possibly assassinate him?

0:03:34 > 0:03:36This is a minefield. '..deception...'

0:03:36 > 0:03:39There's so much more to this story than I thought. Wow!

0:03:39 > 0:03:42'..and even murder...' With a knife! A real shock.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45'Unravelling the mysteries of their family tree.'

0:03:45 > 0:03:47A baker! Well, I'm damned!
