0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello there. As is often the case, we saw quite a variety of weather

0:00:06 > 0:00:08across the United Kingdom to start the weekend.

0:00:08 > 0:00:11For some of us, it was a rather dull and damp affair.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14This is the view from one of our Weather Watchers in Cumbria -

0:00:14 > 0:00:16fair bit of cloud and some rain.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18But it certainly wasn't like that for all places,

0:00:18 > 0:00:20in fact this is the view from one of our Weather Watchers,

0:00:20 > 0:00:22Saturday afternoon in Somerset.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24Lovely view across the fields, lots of sunshine.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26In fact, in the sunshine, further east, around the Wash

0:00:26 > 0:00:29and towards the London area, we got up to about 16 Celsius.

0:00:29 > 0:00:30And for the second part of the weekend,

0:00:30 > 0:00:32we'll go a couple of degrees higher than that.

0:00:32 > 0:00:35Again, it looks like it'll be central and eastern parts of the UK

0:00:35 > 0:00:38that will see the highest temperatures, 17 or 18 Celsius.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41It's going to be a lovely day for many central and eastern parts -

0:00:41 > 0:00:44variable cloud, some sunshine, light winds and feeling pleasantly warm.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46However, further north and further west,

0:00:46 > 0:00:48we've got a lot more cloud, outbreaks of rain.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50It's not going to rain all day everywhere,

0:00:50 > 0:00:52but the rain in the south and west could turn more persistent

0:00:52 > 0:00:55into the afternoon. When you get the cloud and the rain,

0:00:55 > 0:00:57it's 10 or 11 Celsius, but for central and eastern areas

0:00:57 > 0:00:59it's 17 or 18 Celsius, at the highest.

0:00:59 > 0:01:00Some places maybe only 13 or 14,

0:01:00 > 0:01:03but still a pleasant feel to the day for many.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05However, it does change through the evening

0:01:05 > 0:01:07as this rain sweeps its way ever northwards

0:01:07 > 0:01:10and there's a bit more coming in from the south as well.

0:01:10 > 0:01:14So, Monday, it looks like low pressure is in charge of the weather

0:01:14 > 0:01:16and it will be drifting its way ever northwards,

0:01:16 > 0:01:19taking the wettest weather and the stronger winds with it.

0:01:19 > 0:01:23But Monday itself does look like a fairly changeable sort of day.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25It'll be wet and windy to start across much of Scotland,

0:01:25 > 0:01:28that will drift its way into the western side of Scotland.

0:01:28 > 0:01:29Northern Ireland, wet and windy start,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32but we'll see some showers coming in as it brightens up

0:01:32 > 0:01:34and there'll be heavy showers across England and Wales.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Top temperature by this stage around about 13 or 14 Celsius.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40And then through Monday night, into Tuesday,

0:01:40 > 0:01:43low pressure still in charge of the weather across the north of the UK,

0:01:43 > 0:01:45that means it'll be the focal point

0:01:45 > 0:01:47for some showers during the day on Tuesday.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49The strongest winds will be in the north as well.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51But overall on Tuesday it's a much drier picture.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54Still a few showers for some central and eastern parts of England,

0:01:54 > 0:01:56but a lot of dry and bright weather on Tuesday.

0:01:56 > 0:01:5815 Celsius will be the top temperature,

0:01:58 > 0:02:00many other places around about 10 or 11 Celsius.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02But a big change through the middle of the week,

0:02:02 > 0:02:04as this weather front drifts its way from west to east.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07Behind it, this cool-ish north-westerly breeze

0:02:07 > 0:02:10is going to bring a real change in the air mass.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12We've got a complete change in the air, to be honest,

0:02:12 > 0:02:15from something quite mild to something that bit cooler.

0:02:15 > 0:02:16And it looks like that cooler air

0:02:16 > 0:02:19will be drifting down from the north through Thursday

0:02:19 > 0:02:21and will still be with us on into the end of the week.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24So, temperatures will be dipping away from midweek onwards.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26And we see that change beginning on Wednesday.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28It's actually a decent start

0:02:28 > 0:02:30for some central and eastern areas, some sunshine,

0:02:30 > 0:02:32but clouding over all the while as rain comes in from the west.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35Temperatures 14 Celsius ahead of that weather front,

0:02:35 > 0:02:36but only eight or nine behind it.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39So that's the change in the feel of things.

0:02:39 > 0:02:40Turning things much fresher and cooler.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43And we've got the air coming down from the north

0:02:43 > 0:02:44through the day on Thursday.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47Quite a noticeable wind across all parts of the UK.

0:02:47 > 0:02:48Looks like it'll be a day of sunny spells

0:02:48 > 0:02:50and some quite blustery showers.

0:02:50 > 0:02:51Might see 12 Celsius in the southeast,

0:02:51 > 0:02:54but many places struggling to get into double figures.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57And then it settles down to some degree for the end of the week.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00We get this brief ridge of high pressure,

0:03:00 > 0:03:01and it will be quite brief.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04It's going to be shunted out of the way pretty quickly,

0:03:04 > 0:03:07so it's all change into the weekend, with the low pressure taking over.

0:03:07 > 0:03:10And this area of low pressure looks like it'll park itself

0:03:10 > 0:03:13toward the south, the southwest of the UK, through next weekend,

0:03:13 > 0:03:15and it'll last on into the following week.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19So even on into the following week it does look pretty unsettled.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22There'll be some rain at times, but also going some drier spells,

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and when you get the drier spells overnight, clear skies,

0:03:25 > 0:03:27it will turn quite chilly,

0:03:27 > 0:03:29maybe even a touch of frost in the outlook.

0:03:29 > 0:03:30Bye for now.
