0:00:03 > 0:00:06With temperatures up to 18 degrees it really doesn't feel like November,

0:00:06 > 0:00:08but towards the middle of the month,

0:00:08 > 0:00:10it does look like we'll get some more seasonal conditions.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12We'll lose the really mild air,

0:00:12 > 0:00:14but plenty more wind and rain before that happens,

0:00:14 > 0:00:17all provided by a supercharged jet stream

0:00:17 > 0:00:21propelling these areas of wet weather in bands towards us.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23And with each dose of rain, of course,

0:00:23 > 0:00:27the ground becomes wetter and wetter, the catchments filling up too,

0:00:27 > 0:00:30so the Met Office working very closely with the Environment Agency

0:00:30 > 0:00:33to monitor the situation - watch out for warnings.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Plenty more rain to come as we start the weekend,

0:00:36 > 0:00:39some heavy rain too, pushing ever northwards.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42The far north of Scotland stays largely in the clear,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44but most other places will see some wet weather.

0:00:44 > 0:00:47It lingers for much of the day across Northern Ireland and Scotland,

0:00:47 > 0:00:50the heart of Scotland, keeping it cool here.

0:00:50 > 0:00:51Further south in England and Wales,

0:00:51 > 0:00:53after that dose of rain it brightens up,

0:00:53 > 0:00:57and temperatures shoot up again as high as 17 or 18 degrees.

0:00:57 > 0:01:01Despite a gusty wind, you'll notice that, and maybe some strong gusts

0:01:01 > 0:01:04just as that rain clears from north-east England.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07Then a respite through the early hours of Sunday,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09cooling down, perhaps a touch of frost in the glens of Scotland,

0:01:09 > 0:01:12but then the next weather system comes charging in,

0:01:12 > 0:01:15more heavy rain and particularly strong winds

0:01:15 > 0:01:19across north-western parts of the UK, could see gusts of up to 60mph,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21so we'll keep an eye on that.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23Further south and east, though, for Remembrance Sunday,

0:01:23 > 0:01:25largely dry, and again, mild.

0:01:25 > 0:01:26That's not the end of it, though,

0:01:26 > 0:01:29because a whole train of weather fronts extending all the way back

0:01:29 > 0:01:32into the Atlantic, so you know what's coming our way

0:01:32 > 0:01:36in the new working week. Plenty more of the wet stuff.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38And it'll often be very windy as well,

0:01:38 > 0:01:41so the risk of gales, and again, keep an eye on warnings.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44Further wet weather for sure, but all the while,

0:01:44 > 0:01:47temperatures are very much on the mild side.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50This is Monday's picture, and again it's the most north-western areas

0:01:50 > 0:01:53which see most of the rain, very strong winds,

0:01:53 > 0:01:56so despite good temperatures it won't feel so comfortable

0:01:56 > 0:01:59if you're stuck out in the wind and rain.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02As we go from Monday into Tuesday,

0:02:02 > 0:02:03it gets a little bit complicated,

0:02:03 > 0:02:06weather fronts sort of strung out across the country.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09Again, initially it's the more north-western parts of the UK

0:02:09 > 0:02:11which will catch most of the rain,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13driest across more southern and eastern areas.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15But nobody immune from some rain,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17and again, some particularly strong winds.

0:02:17 > 0:02:21Temperatures beginning to ease down across the more northern parts

0:02:21 > 0:02:25of the UK, and that trend continues through the middle part of the week.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28We're beginning to lose the REALLY mild air.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31Weather-wise, actually, a lot of dry weather.

0:02:31 > 0:02:32Some sunshine around, but again,

0:02:32 > 0:02:35that'll be tempered by that gusty wind.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Let's take a step back again and look at that jet stream.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42And for the last week or so it's been powering in our direction,

0:02:42 > 0:02:45propelling those weather systems towards us.

0:02:45 > 0:02:49It is the dividing line between relatively warm air to the south

0:02:49 > 0:02:52and much chillier conditions trying to come down from the north.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55And now that hint, that later on next week,

0:02:55 > 0:02:58cold air will begin to encroach,

0:02:58 > 0:03:01initially across the north-western parts of the UK,

0:03:01 > 0:03:04and that cold air could spread further southwards

0:03:04 > 0:03:06as we hit next weekend.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Of course it's been very mild for so long,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11but the trend certainly is now from our computer models

0:03:11 > 0:03:14that things will get back closer to normal.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17Not desperately cold, but it does mean that potentially

0:03:17 > 0:03:19we will see some overnight frosts at least.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23So to sum up the middle-month period, yes, back to normal.

0:03:23 > 0:03:25Chillier air coming down from the north,

0:03:25 > 0:03:27and certainly a risk of some overnight frost.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30I'll update you again tomorrow.
