0:00:21 > 0:00:24but the wind's a real feature of the weather -

0:00:24 > 0:00:2640 to 50mph gusts across England and Wales.

0:00:26 > 0:00:28Looking around at 3pm,

0:00:28 > 0:00:31you can see heavy bursts of showery rain

0:00:38 > 0:00:40probably staying driest longest,

0:00:40 > 0:00:43but across much of Northern England and Northern Ireland,

0:00:43 > 0:00:45rain showers, sleet at higher levels,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47and in Scotland, those rain and sleet showers

0:00:47 > 0:00:49increasingly turning to snow,

0:00:49 > 0:00:51mainly on the hills and mountains.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54It's a gusty day with those strong winds.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56Overnight and into Sunday,

0:00:56 > 0:00:59we keep the showers and strong winds.

0:00:59 > 0:01:00Not quite as mild

0:01:00 > 0:01:02compared to first thing Saturday.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04By the time we get to Sunday,

0:01:04 > 0:01:07temperatures more typically 7 or 8 degrees,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09but colder air further North,

0:01:09 > 0:01:11with the chance of further snow showers.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13Snow amounts accumulating

0:01:13 > 0:01:16across the mountains and hills of Scotland.

0:01:16 > 0:01:18We've got this next weather system

0:01:18 > 0:01:20approaching from the West on Sunday,

0:01:20 > 0:01:23so another windy-feeling day,

0:01:23 > 0:01:26plenty more showers rattling across the country,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28and further snowfall to come

0:01:28 > 0:01:30on the high ground of Scotland,

0:01:30 > 0:01:32mainly above 400 metres or so.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Winds likely to gust to 50 to 60mph,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37enough to cause significant disruption.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39Turning milder in the South,

0:01:39 > 0:01:4113 degrees or so,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43but further North, we're still looking at

0:01:43 > 0:01:45temperatures around 3 to 6 Celsius.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48Some real contrasts in temperature in fact.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50On into Monday morning,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52this next area of low pressure

0:01:52 > 0:01:54approaching from the Atlantic,

0:01:54 > 0:01:56tight isobars once again.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59Quite mild air in charge across much of the country,

0:01:59 > 0:02:01but colder air still pushing down

0:02:01 > 0:02:03into Northern Ireland and Scotland,

0:02:03 > 0:02:05so still the potential that we could see

0:02:05 > 0:02:08some snow and sleet across parts of Scotland.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Further South, it'll be falling as rain,

0:02:10 > 0:02:1213 degrees or so,

0:02:12 > 0:02:14contrast that with 4 or 5 Celsius

0:02:14 > 0:02:16towards the North of Scotland.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Into Tuesday, it's a repeat performance.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22We've got the next area of low pressure approaching

0:02:22 > 0:02:23from the Atlantic.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Some fairly chilly conditions across Scotland,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28but this band of rain works its way

0:02:28 > 0:02:31Northwards and Eastwards across the country,

0:02:31 > 0:02:34increasingly turning to snow as it bumps into

0:02:34 > 0:02:36that colder air in the North.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38This is quite a deep area of low pressure,

0:02:38 > 0:02:41bringing a real squeeze in those isobars,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43so another very windy story

0:02:43 > 0:02:47on Wednesday, spells of rain once again for many areas,

0:02:47 > 0:02:50but it is likely to be a mild story across,

0:02:50 > 0:02:5211 to 14 Celsius.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54Then, later next week,

0:02:54 > 0:02:55things stay unsettled.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57Low pressure still the dominant

0:02:57 > 0:02:59driver of the weather,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01but the isobars not quite as close,

0:03:01 > 0:03:02so it'll be a little less windy

0:03:02 > 0:03:04towards the end of next week.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06In Scotland, we could see

0:03:06 > 0:03:07further hill snow,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09even down to lower levels,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11a bit of wintery precipitation.

0:03:11 > 0:03:12Elsewhere, the chance of sunnier

0:03:12 > 0:03:14and milder spells,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16particularly for Eastern parts.

0:03:16 > 0:03:17Towards the Northwest,

0:03:17 > 0:03:18further spells of rain,

0:03:18 > 0:03:20perhaps with localised flooding

0:03:20 > 0:03:22as rainfall totals mount up.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24This is the Floodline number

0:03:24 > 0:03:25if you are concerned about

0:03:25 > 0:03:27any potential flood warnings.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29That's it for now. Bye-bye.
