0:00:03 > 0:00:05If you're sick to death of this mild wet and windy weather
0:00:05 > 0:00:08and you want something cold and wintry,
0:00:08 > 0:00:12it looks as thought your dreams may come true as we move into next week.
0:00:12 > 0:00:14More on that in a moment,
0:00:14 > 0:00:18but in the driving seat for Sunday low pressure remains in control.
0:00:18 > 0:00:21And it stays wet and windy at times.
0:00:21 > 0:00:25Particularly in the north, with snow showers to the tops of higher ground.
0:00:25 > 0:00:28The winds will feature here across the extreme northeast,
0:00:28 > 0:00:32with gusts in excess of 60mph, possibly 70mph
0:00:32 > 0:00:35and frequent spells of wet weather for a time through the morning.
0:00:35 > 0:00:37Not too bad into Northern Ireland,
0:00:37 > 0:00:39and across England and Wales there will
0:00:39 > 0:00:43be fewer showers around on Sunday than at the beginning of the weekend.
0:00:43 > 0:00:44They'll be less organised,
0:00:44 > 0:00:47and hopefully there'll be some drier, brighter,
0:00:47 > 0:00:48interludes from time to time.
0:00:48 > 0:00:50As we go into the afternoon, after that chilly start,
0:00:50 > 0:00:53it looks as through we will see some sunshine for
0:00:53 > 0:00:55England and Wales and Northern Ireland,
0:00:55 > 0:00:57but in Scotland it stays cloudy,
0:00:57 > 0:01:00wet and windy, and there will be further showers of rain,
0:01:00 > 0:01:03sleet and snow to the tops of the hills
0:01:03 > 0:01:06with wind as a feature, it's going to feel quite disappointing.
0:01:06 > 0:01:095 or 6, generally the best, 7-10 degrees further south.
0:01:11 > 0:01:13As we move into the start of a new working week,
0:01:13 > 0:01:15low pressure stays with us for a time.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18It will drift its way steadily southwards.
0:01:18 > 0:01:20We're still going to see further showers as they push their
0:01:20 > 0:01:23way across the Pennines and into north Wales.
0:01:23 > 0:01:27There could be some winteriness here for some time as well.
0:01:27 > 0:01:30The strongest of the winds across the northwest of Scotland through
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Northern Ireland, sunny spells and scattered showers,
0:01:33 > 0:01:35and feeling just that little bit cooler.
0:01:35 > 0:01:38As we move out of Monday into Tuesday,
0:01:38 > 0:01:41the winds will swing round more to a northerly direction.
0:01:41 > 0:01:45Perhaps fewer showers around, and more sunshine, but again,
0:01:45 > 0:01:48across the Peaks and Pennines we could see snow showers developing.
0:01:48 > 0:01:52Perhaps even at lower levels for a time, and turning a little cooler.
0:01:52 > 0:01:56Tuesday night into Wednesday shows a significantly colder night
0:01:56 > 0:02:00to come with those clear skies by day falling away over night.
0:02:00 > 0:02:04Those temperatures are going to plummet down to -7 to -10 degrees
0:02:04 > 0:02:06in more rural and exposed parts.
0:02:06 > 0:02:08As we move through the middle of the week,
0:02:08 > 0:02:09we've still got this area of
0:02:09 > 0:02:11low pressure enhancing some showers into the north,
0:02:11 > 0:02:13but another area of low pressure,
0:02:13 > 0:02:17which could mean trouble in the south as it bumps into colder air, there is
0:02:17 > 0:02:19the potential for some snow showers
0:02:19 > 0:02:22at lower levels across southern Britain.
0:02:22 > 0:02:24Something we need to keep a close eye on.
0:02:24 > 0:02:28As the low sits to the southeast still dragging in this colder
0:02:28 > 0:02:31Arctic air, moving across the Atlantic, it is going to
0:02:31 > 0:02:35feel bitterly cold in comparison to what we've seen of late.
0:02:35 > 0:02:39The blue tones really stretching right down across the UK with only
0:02:39 > 0:02:44the warmer yellow tones stretching across the far south of Europe.
0:02:44 > 0:02:46As we move into the weekend,
0:02:46 > 0:02:48high pressure will start to build from the southwest,
0:02:48 > 0:02:51so, potentially, quietening things down .
0:02:51 > 0:02:53A good deal of dry weather looks likely into the weekend but
0:02:53 > 0:02:56it'll still be pretty cold with some widespread frost
0:02:56 > 0:02:58to look out for first thing in the morning.
0:02:58 > 0:03:03The longer six to ten day period shows the potential for a low
0:03:03 > 0:03:04to build again out in the Atlantic
0:03:04 > 0:03:06and the winds to come round to
0:03:06 > 0:03:08more of a south-westerly or a westerly
0:03:08 > 0:03:14which means that it will get a bit milder and a little more unsettled.
0:03:14 > 0:03:18Enough of that, let's concentrate on this colder feel, with frost
0:03:18 > 0:03:21and ice an issue, a biting north-westerly wind, wintry
0:03:21 > 0:03:25showers for all, and some of these could even fall at lower levels.
0:03:25 > 0:03:26It's going to be
0:03:26 > 0:03:28worth watching the forecast
0:03:28 > 0:03:29over the next couple of days.
0:03:31 > 0:03:32So you can let it be known...
0:03:32 > 0:03:33KNOCK ON DOOR
0:03:33 > 0:03:35..Bucket is waiting.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37I know you're there!
0:03:37 > 0:03:39Bucket is watching.
0:03:41 > 0:03:43And he will have his way.
