0:00:03 > 0:00:06We got some snow overnight, drifting its way southwards and eastwards.

0:00:06 > 0:00:07It should be gone by dawn,

0:00:07 > 0:00:09but I suspect it will leave behind a legacy of ice.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Bear that in mind if you've got some early travel plans

0:00:12 > 0:00:14and it's not just ice we'll have to contend with.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16Across the eastern side of England, there's going to be

0:00:16 > 0:00:18some fog patches and it'll be freezing fog

0:00:18 > 0:00:21which may linger for some, but it is the eastern parts of England

0:00:21 > 0:00:23where we expect to see at least some spells of sunshine.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25Elsewhere, a fair bit of cloud, but not too much rain.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27There will be some in the western side of Scotland,

0:00:27 > 0:00:30maybe a bit of wintry weather over higher ground,

0:00:30 > 0:00:31but nothing too significant.

0:00:31 > 0:00:34Cold but dry for Glasgow and Edinburgh.

0:00:34 > 0:00:35Cold too in northern England.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Only a couple of degrees above freezing here.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40Fours and fives in the sunshine in the south and east,

0:00:40 > 0:00:41maybe a shower or two,

0:00:41 > 0:00:43but most places should have a dry Sunday afternoon.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45A bit more cloud as you drift your way westwards,

0:00:45 > 0:00:46a bit more of a breeze as well

0:00:46 > 0:00:49and some outbreaks of rain, so it might be nine degrees in Plymouth,

0:00:49 > 0:00:52but with the rain, not a pleasant feel to things

0:00:52 > 0:00:55and some patchy rain too into the south of Wales,

0:00:55 > 0:00:56only six degrees in Cardiff.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58The north of Wales probably that bit drier.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00Up towards Northern Ireland through the afternoon -

0:01:00 > 0:01:02yes, a lot of cloud, six or seven degrees.

0:01:02 > 0:01:03It's dry for a while, though.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05This rain is lurking out towards the west

0:01:05 > 0:01:08and that'll show its hand through the evening and the rain in Wales,

0:01:08 > 0:01:11the south-west becomes a bit more noticeable into the evening.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13It bumps into that colder air, so on the leading edge of that rain,

0:01:13 > 0:01:16we might just see a little bit of snow by dawn on Monday.

0:01:16 > 0:01:17A range of temperatures, though -

0:01:17 > 0:01:19relatively mild towards the south-west,

0:01:19 > 0:01:20seven degrees in Plymouth,

0:01:20 > 0:01:23but still round about freezing or below further east.

0:01:23 > 0:01:24Now, through the day on Monday,

0:01:24 > 0:01:27we've got this weather front draped across the western side of the UK.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29It's going to stay pretty much there,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32because the high pressure will stop it moving further eastwards,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34so that weather front is there or thereabouts during the day

0:01:34 > 0:01:36on Monday across the western side of the UK

0:01:36 > 0:01:38with a bit of a breeze, the cloud and the rain.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40The rain becomes lighter, more patchy

0:01:40 > 0:01:41as we get on through the day

0:01:41 > 0:01:44and I think many central and eastern areas should have a reasonable day

0:01:44 > 0:01:45with the best of the sunny spells

0:01:45 > 0:01:48probably the further east you are, but still a cold day,

0:01:48 > 0:01:50only two or three degrees in Norwich despite some sunshine.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53Similar temperatures for Newcastle, Manchester,

0:01:53 > 0:01:56but again, down towards the south and west, it's seven or eight degrees.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59That weather front slowly topples its way southwards and westwards

0:01:59 > 0:02:03through the day on Tuesday as high pressure builds down from the north.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06That high is going to bring a bit of a breeze from the North Sea

0:02:06 > 0:02:09and that's going to drag some cloud into the north and east of the UK.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11There should be some spells of sunshine further south,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13but that lingering weather front might just bring

0:02:13 > 0:02:15a little bit of rain down towards Cornwall,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17where it's still relatively mild.

0:02:17 > 0:02:18The middle of the week

0:02:18 > 0:02:21and we've got this big area of high pressure become firmly established.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23That's going to bring a lot of dry weather.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Again, a bit of a breeze coming from the North Sea,

0:02:25 > 0:02:26dragging in quite a lot of cloud,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28so I think the further south and west you go,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30that's where the best of the sunny spells

0:02:30 > 0:02:32and the highest of the temperatures are likely to be.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35Still a chilly day for many of us, threes and fours.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Then on into the latter part of the week.

0:02:37 > 0:02:38That high is firmly established.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41It'll keep it dry for the most part. However, out west,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43more of a breeze as weather fronts try to come in,

0:02:43 > 0:02:45but I think the high pressure will win out

0:02:45 > 0:02:48and keep it dry and keep those weather fronts at bay.

0:02:48 > 0:02:49A lot of dry weather on Thursday

0:02:49 > 0:02:53and those temperatures just rising a little bit across the north and east,

0:02:53 > 0:02:55getting up to five, six or seven degrees.

0:02:55 > 0:02:56Into next weekend and beyond,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58the big picture looks something like this,

0:02:58 > 0:02:59with high pressure to the east of the UK,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01still dragging in that cold air,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03so still a cold theme to things.

0:03:03 > 0:03:04However, out west,

0:03:04 > 0:03:05we're going to see low pressure

0:03:05 > 0:03:07trying to push into that high.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09That's going to try and bring this milder air in

0:03:09 > 0:03:11and where the milder air and the colder air meet,

0:03:11 > 0:03:14we are likely to see at least some snow,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17but it is finely balanced, I suspect, into the outlook period.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19Finely balanced,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22but it does look as if eventually the Atlantic fronts will win out

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and push their way in across the UK and as that process happens,

0:03:25 > 0:03:26we are likely to see some snow,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28but it's also going to turn a little bit less cold.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34Your mum really needs to come in and see Doctor

0:03:34 > 0:03:35so we can give her a free prescription.

0:03:35 > 0:03:40# Take good care of my baby... #

0:03:40 > 0:03:43There ain't nothing to talk about, do you hear me?

0:03:43 > 0:03:44I need to see her!

0:03:44 > 0:03:46She wants to live.

0:03:46 > 0:03:48# Just tell her that you love her... #

0:03:48 > 0:03:51A female body ought to feel joy.
