0:00:03 > 0:00:07It looks like we're going to say, "goodbye" to the cold weather

0:00:07 > 0:00:10for the time being, and milder weather is set to return.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12We've been advertising this for days now,

0:00:12 > 0:00:15there's no change to the forecast.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18The jetstream's ramping up a few notches over the next 24 hours

0:00:18 > 0:00:21and it will be sending weather systems in our direction,

0:00:21 > 0:00:25meaning increasing winds, thicker cloud, outbreaks of rain,

0:00:25 > 0:00:28and much higher temperatures.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30The mild air sweeps off the Atlantic.

0:00:30 > 0:00:32All the way from the Azores.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34For a time it will be chilly across eastern areas.

0:00:34 > 0:00:37In fact, first thing in the morning frost in the east,

0:00:37 > 0:00:41and even a chance of freezing rain across western parts of Scotland.

0:00:41 > 0:00:45But not for very long as this mild air will soon reach many

0:00:45 > 0:00:47western areas of the UK strengthening winds.

0:00:47 > 0:00:51The far east of the country, for example East Anglia, Lincolnshire

0:00:51 > 0:00:55and parts of the Midlands - maybe the North East - still pretty cold.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58It's going to take time before this cold air is washed away

0:00:58 > 0:01:01by the strengthening winds and the mild conditions off the Atlantic.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03As far as Thursday night is concerned,

0:01:03 > 0:01:06frost free at least almost all of us.

0:01:06 > 0:01:10Maybe a chance of temperatures dipping briefly below freezing

0:01:10 > 0:01:13in the extreme east and the southeast of the country.

0:01:13 > 0:01:14At the end of the week,

0:01:14 > 0:01:16our first weather system for some time sweeping the UK.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19Lots of isobars here, so that means stronger winds,

0:01:19 > 0:01:23even gale-force for a time on some western coasts.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26Here it is, from morning onwards, rain sweeping the UK.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28It should be temporary, though.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Will be heavy for a time across north-western parts of the UK

0:01:31 > 0:01:34Look at that - the weather clearing up and by the afternoon

0:01:34 > 0:01:35there will be some sunshine.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39And those temperatures really rocketing, relatively speaking.

0:01:39 > 0:01:4312 degrees in Plymouth, Cardiff and Belfast.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45The following day,

0:01:45 > 0:01:48we see more weather systems sweeping in from the southwest

0:01:48 > 0:01:52and this is the pattern that will continue to see for quite some time.

0:01:52 > 0:01:53So, let's have a look at Saturday's details.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Subtle difference for England. Quite a big one.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00High pressure will briefly build across the UK giving sunshine,

0:02:00 > 0:02:03but it won't be long before another weather front

0:02:03 > 0:02:06arrives in the southwest bringing more rain.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09This pattern continues through Sunday.

0:02:09 > 0:02:13Out of the two, Saturday is the better day because on Sunday more

0:02:13 > 0:02:16of us will have thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Look, temperatures getting up to the teens

0:02:18 > 0:02:20- 13 for Belfast, 13 for Cardiff,

0:02:20 > 0:02:24and London and Norwich back into double figures as well.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26The only place there is in Shetland

0:02:26 > 0:02:28- into single figures.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32On Monday, it looks as if another level of low pressure close to the UK

0:02:32 > 0:02:35- lots of isobars as well so pretty windy in south-western areas.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Eastern parts of the country may actually get away with some

0:02:38 > 0:02:42bright weather, but the west and the southwest certainly will see

0:02:42 > 0:02:45strong winds and heavy rain in western Scotland

0:02:45 > 0:02:46and parts of Northern Ireland too

0:02:46 > 0:02:49Here's the outlook for next week.

0:02:49 > 0:02:52The jetstream, we've been having a look at that as well.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54That jetstream will send mild weather,

0:02:54 > 0:02:57not just here in the UK but into Europe too,

0:02:57 > 0:03:00pushing the freezing cold weather all the way eastwards as these

0:03:00 > 0:03:04areas swing into north-western parts of Europe.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08Look at the temperature contrast by the time we get to Wednesday

0:03:08 > 0:03:09next week.

0:03:09 > 0:03:1315, 16 - maybe 17 across some parts of the southwest of France.

0:03:13 > 0:03:145 in central Europe.

0:03:14 > 0:03:19But, in Russia, in the far west of Russia, it's still freezing cold.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21Next week, across the UK, there will be

0:03:21 > 0:03:25spells of cloud, rain, winds, but the one thing we'll notice

0:03:25 > 0:03:28is how much higher the temperature is going to be.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30Cold weather, for now, is not set to return.
