0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello. Not long after Storm Gertrude has moved away,

0:00:05 > 0:00:09we're already eyeing up our next named storm for Monday

0:00:09 > 0:00:11and Tuesday with wind and rain - that's Henry.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13We'll look at that in a moment.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15First, an image from Saturday's weather.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18Widespread snow in Highland Scotland

0:00:18 > 0:00:20captured by one of our weather-watchers.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22Even blizzards with the strong winds

0:00:22 > 0:00:25but a change coming for part two of the weekend.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27For Sunday, we're going to see milder air

0:00:27 > 0:00:29beginning to push back in from the south-west

0:00:29 > 0:00:31but that comes with outbreaks of rain.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33So, actually, many of us have seen sunshine

0:00:33 > 0:00:35at some stage during Saturday

0:00:35 > 0:00:37but for Sunday, here we go.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39It's a cloudier, wetter story,

0:00:39 > 0:00:41so sunshine hard to come by and, yes, milder air

0:00:41 > 0:00:44is spreading northwards but it's going to take

0:00:44 > 0:00:45a long time to go into Scotland,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47not really until Sunday night.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Late recovery in temperatures

0:00:49 > 0:00:50down the eastern side of England

0:00:50 > 0:00:52and on the leading flank of that wet weather

0:00:52 > 0:00:54pushing northwards, especially to the hills

0:00:54 > 0:00:56of Scotland and Northern England,

0:00:56 > 0:00:57there will be some snow for a time.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59There's a big range of temperatures for Sunday

0:00:59 > 0:01:02but Sunday night, the milder air continues

0:01:02 > 0:01:04its journey northwards, completes its journey

0:01:04 > 0:01:06northwards across the UK,

0:01:06 > 0:01:08bringing some further heavy rain across parts

0:01:08 > 0:01:10of Scotland so we start Monday, all of us,

0:01:10 > 0:01:13in the mild air but the winds are strengthening

0:01:13 > 0:01:16and that's as Storm Henry moves in.

0:01:16 > 0:01:18So we'll take a look at it on the big picture.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Another deepening area of low pressure.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23That's going to produce gales, severe gales,

0:01:23 > 0:01:24widely across the UK

0:01:24 > 0:01:26but the strongest, most disruptive winds

0:01:26 > 0:01:29the closer you are to the base of this low pressure,

0:01:29 > 0:01:31that's later on Monday into Monday night

0:01:31 > 0:01:34across the north of Scotland in particular.

0:01:34 > 0:01:35And this is where the Met Office

0:01:35 > 0:01:37has an Amber "be prepared" warning in force

0:01:37 > 0:01:40because winds will strengthen here during Monday

0:01:40 > 0:01:41into Monday night

0:01:41 > 0:01:44and that's where we could see some gusts of up to 90mph.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47On Monday, more rain spreads its way southwards.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Brighter, showery conditions following on behind

0:01:49 > 0:01:53but turning colder once again with some snow showers developing

0:01:53 > 0:01:55over the hills and mountains of Scotland.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58But the wind's the most disruptive element of Storm Henry.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Late Monday, Monday night into early Tuesday

0:02:01 > 0:02:03so do keep in touch with the situation near you.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05There will be more disruption.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07Still very windy,

0:02:07 > 0:02:09especially across Scotland on Tuesday,

0:02:09 > 0:02:11as Storm Henry moves off towards Scandinavia

0:02:11 > 0:02:14so we're in the colder air on Tuesday.

0:02:14 > 0:02:15Plenty of showers pushing into the west,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17again, wintry in nature.

0:02:17 > 0:02:18The effect of that low pressure

0:02:18 > 0:02:20moving away is to draw back in,

0:02:20 > 0:02:22just like Gertrude did,

0:02:22 > 0:02:24cold air southwards across the UK.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27And actually, for a time after Henry's gone,

0:02:27 > 0:02:30we're in that colder, quieter weather

0:02:30 > 0:02:32so that includes much of Tuesday,

0:02:32 > 0:02:34especially into Wednesday as well.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36This is the big picture for Wednesday.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38Not yet seeing these weather systems

0:02:38 > 0:02:40coming in from the Atlantic

0:02:40 > 0:02:41so there'll be overnight frost,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43there'll be icy patches possible.

0:02:43 > 0:02:44There'll be further showers

0:02:44 > 0:02:46coming into the north-west of the UK,

0:02:46 > 0:02:47wintry at least on hills

0:02:47 > 0:02:50but potentially to lower levels in places too.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53But then by the end of Wednesday going into Thursday,

0:02:53 > 0:02:55that next weather system from the Atlantic

0:02:55 > 0:02:57is beginning to show its hand.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59So, for much of the week coming,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01we are in the colder air

0:03:01 > 0:03:02because the jet stream has dipped

0:03:02 > 0:03:03a little bit further south

0:03:03 > 0:03:05but then as that next weather system

0:03:05 > 0:03:07comes in later in the week,

0:03:07 > 0:03:08the jet stream starts to push

0:03:08 > 0:03:10its way further north again.

0:03:10 > 0:03:11But, of course, the jet stream

0:03:11 > 0:03:12throughout is close to the UK,

0:03:12 > 0:03:15it is the source of wet and windy weather systems

0:03:15 > 0:03:16coming in from the Atlantic

0:03:16 > 0:03:18so we are expecting another one

0:03:18 > 0:03:20later in the week

0:03:20 > 0:03:21with more wind and rain

0:03:21 > 0:03:22not expected as yet

0:03:22 > 0:03:24to be as fierce as Henry.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26And for the second week of February,

0:03:26 > 0:03:29something colder for longer is possible

0:03:29 > 0:03:31and we'll keep an eye on that.

0:03:42 > 0:03:43Repeated warnings...

0:03:43 > 0:03:45The Government thought it was the right thing to do.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47..allegations and accusations...
