0:00:03 > 0:00:04The Easter weekend is within sight,
0:00:04 > 0:00:06and by then, the weather pattern across the UK
0:00:06 > 0:00:09could look very different from what we've seen recently.
0:00:09 > 0:00:10Throughout most of March,
0:00:10 > 0:00:13our weather has been characterised by dry,
0:00:13 > 0:00:15often rather chilly conditions.
0:00:15 > 0:00:18One constant has been this high pressure
0:00:18 > 0:00:20very close to our shores for quite some time,
0:00:20 > 0:00:24bringing with it cloud and areas of sunshine, too.
0:00:24 > 0:00:29Sunday is the spring equinox, so days get longer than nights.
0:00:29 > 0:00:32Not all of us will see some sunshine on Sunday.
0:00:32 > 0:00:34Some places will. Central, southern Scotland,
0:00:34 > 0:00:36particularly Northern Ireland,
0:00:36 > 0:00:38and perhaps northern England in some areas.
0:00:38 > 0:00:40Further south, it may brighten up from time to time,
0:00:40 > 0:00:42but on the whole, there'll be a lot of cloud.
0:00:42 > 0:00:45Temperatures, again, Sunday, under the cloud, 8 degrees or so.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48Some sunshine, 11 or 12.
0:00:48 > 0:00:50As we head into the evening and overnight,
0:00:50 > 0:00:53those cloud breaks may start to shift a little bit further south
0:00:53 > 0:00:56into Wales, through the Midlands, eventually into southern England.
0:00:56 > 0:00:58At the same time, more cloud comes into Scotland
0:00:58 > 0:01:01and we could, again, see a little bit of light rain or drizzle.
0:01:01 > 0:01:05So the colder weather slips further south overnight into Monday morning,
0:01:05 > 0:01:08or across the Midlands, towards Wales and the West Country,
0:01:08 > 0:01:10there could be the odd mist and fog patch as well.
0:01:10 > 0:01:12Essentially, though, we've still got high pressure
0:01:12 > 0:01:14just about in charge across the UK.
0:01:14 > 0:01:17It's beginning to show signs of slipping away.
0:01:17 > 0:01:19These weather fronts are very weak.
0:01:19 > 0:01:22They're transporting more cloud southwards across the UK,
0:01:22 > 0:01:25so there may be some early sunshine across southern parts of England,
0:01:25 > 0:01:27then that will fill in during the afternoon.
0:01:27 > 0:01:30On the whole, by the afternoon, most places will be rather cloudy.
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Much more cloud for western Scotland and for Northern Ireland.
0:01:33 > 0:01:35A little drizzle in the air, too.
0:01:35 > 0:01:37It should be somewhat brighter across eastern areas,
0:01:37 > 0:01:40because we're losing the wind off the North Sea.
0:01:40 > 0:01:43More of a gentle westerly around the top of that area of high pressure.
0:01:43 > 0:01:46That's a better direction for the eastern side of the UK.
0:01:46 > 0:01:50See how the high is just starting to slip away towards the south-west.
0:01:50 > 0:01:54Still clinging on on Tuesday so, again, most places will be dry.
0:01:54 > 0:01:56There'll be a lot of cloud around.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58Brighter skies towards the eastern side of the UK.
0:01:58 > 0:02:00And where you do see a glimmer of sunshine,
0:02:00 > 0:02:02temperatures will get into double figures.
0:02:02 > 0:02:04But things are starting to change,
0:02:04 > 0:02:06and we've got some weather fronts on the scene
0:02:06 > 0:02:08for the middle part of the week.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10These first set of weather fronts are very weak.
0:02:10 > 0:02:14Remember, they're running into that high pressure.
0:02:14 > 0:02:17So we'll see a band of cloud, a little rain or drizzle
0:02:17 > 0:02:19coming across Scotland, away from Northern Ireland,
0:02:19 > 0:02:21into northern and western parts of England and Wales.
0:02:21 > 0:02:24Something a little bit brighter ahead of that.
0:02:24 > 0:02:26One or two showers coming into the north-west of the UK.
0:02:26 > 0:02:28The next weather system
0:02:28 > 0:02:30is the one that's going to have a bit more oomph to it.
0:02:30 > 0:02:33This is probably going to bring the first significant rain
0:02:33 > 0:02:35that we've had for a long time now.
0:02:35 > 0:02:37A lot more isobars on the chart, too,
0:02:37 > 0:02:39so we'll find some stronger winds around on Thursday.
0:02:39 > 0:02:41And this band of rain
0:02:41 > 0:02:43will push its way steadily eastwards across the UK.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46I think most places will get some rain.
0:02:46 > 0:02:48Quite a change from what we've had.
0:02:48 > 0:02:51And this signals a start of something very different
0:02:51 > 0:02:53for the Easter weekend.
0:02:53 > 0:02:55High pressure not really in sight.
0:02:55 > 0:02:58Low pressures are going to come in from the Atlantic.
0:02:58 > 0:03:00At times, we'll have a milder south-westerly wind
0:03:00 > 0:03:04and then as the lows tend to pull away towards Scandinavia,
0:03:04 > 0:03:06they'll introduce, briefly, some cooler north-westerlies,
0:03:06 > 0:03:08bringing some showers as well.
0:03:08 > 0:03:11So a much more unsettled,
0:03:11 > 0:03:14much more changeable pattern as we head into the weekend.
0:03:14 > 0:03:17There'll be some stronger winds as well,
0:03:17 > 0:03:18because things are more changeable.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20There'll be some rain from time to time,
0:03:20 > 0:03:22but it's not a wash-out by any means.
0:03:22 > 0:03:25There will be some spells of sunshine
0:03:25 > 0:03:26and in the sunshine, of course,
0:03:26 > 0:03:28it will feel quite pleasant at this time of the year.
0:03:28 > 0:03:29That's it from me. Bye for now.
0:03:31 > 0:03:34The voice you're hearing is mine.
0:03:34 > 0:03:36It was recorded last night after I had a few pints.
0:03:37 > 0:03:39I'm doing this to show that...
0:03:39 > 0:03:42(slurs) alcohol takes so long to pass through me body.
0:03:43 > 0:03:46Even though I feel sober now, my body is still drunk.
0:03:47 > 0:03:49And if I drove now the consequences could be...
