0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello. High pressure has dominated our weather for quite some time.

0:00:06 > 0:00:08That's kept it dry virtually everywhere,

0:00:08 > 0:00:10but we've also seen variable amounts of cloud.

0:00:10 > 0:00:14And a bit of sunshine at this time of year makes all the difference.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16This is the view yesterday in Polzeath, Cornwall.

0:00:16 > 0:00:20Fast forward to today and a very different feel to the day underneath

0:00:20 > 0:00:24pretty cloudy skies. A lot of cloud, yes, but it was essentially dry.

0:00:24 > 0:00:27Later this week, we're going to swap high pressure for

0:00:27 > 0:00:29low pressure as the jet stream dives to the south of the UK

0:00:29 > 0:00:33and that low is going to keep things pretty unsettled as we get on

0:00:33 > 0:00:34into the Easter weekend.

0:00:34 > 0:00:37Through the middle of the week, a lot of cloud to start the day.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39The best of any breaks will be to the eastern side of England,

0:00:39 > 0:00:41maybe along the south coast as well.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43The odd spit and spot of rain possible across some

0:00:43 > 0:00:46parts of England and Wales but most places should be dry.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Not quite so in the north and west, this band of rain,

0:00:48 > 0:00:50not overly heavy rain, but some rain nonetheless,

0:00:50 > 0:00:53working through Northern Ireland into western Scotland.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Something brighter and some showers following.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57Northern England, fairly cloudy through the afternoon,

0:00:57 > 0:00:59maybe some breaks east of the Pennines.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01The odd spot of rain possible across the north-west

0:01:01 > 0:01:04of England, western Wales and down towards the south-west,

0:01:04 > 0:01:07but many places will actually be fine and dry and it should be a

0:01:07 > 0:01:09pretty much dry afternoon for East Anglia and the south-east.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Maybe a few breaks in the cloud, 12 or 13 degrees,

0:01:11 > 0:01:14with some sunshine and light winds it shouldn't feel so bad.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Through evening, there will be that rain crossing Scotland,

0:01:17 > 0:01:19patchy rain for northern England and a little

0:01:19 > 0:01:21rain for the south-east, but it won't amount to very much.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24Something much more substantial into the north and west by dawn

0:01:24 > 0:01:26on Thursday. By which stage, major towns

0:01:26 > 0:01:29and cities will see temperatures around five or six degrees.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32Thursday itself, that's the start of a change to something much more

0:01:32 > 0:01:36unsettled as low pressure begins to take over across the United Kingdom.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38So turning increasingly wet

0:01:38 > 0:01:41and increasingly windy across the north and west of the UK.

0:01:41 > 0:01:43That rain make steady progress towards the south and the east

0:01:43 > 0:01:46through the afternoon. And into the evening, that rain will begin

0:01:46 > 0:01:49to arrive here. Underneath the rain,

0:01:49 > 0:01:52single figures, eight or nine degrees. And in the wind and rain

0:01:52 > 0:01:54not a great feel to the day.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57Now, to get on into Good Friday, that rain may well drag its

0:01:57 > 0:01:59heels for a while across the south-east

0:01:59 > 0:02:02but there is this temporary ridge building, which is going to bring

0:02:02 > 0:02:04some pretty decent weather to the north and west.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06But through the Easter weekend itself,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08we're going to see quite a mixed bag of weather.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10It's going to be windy at times, some rain, some showers, but

0:02:10 > 0:02:13there's also going to be something little bit drier and brighter.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15Some of us should see some sunshine

0:02:15 > 0:02:18and Good Friday, actually, seems like a pretty decent day for some

0:02:18 > 0:02:20sunshine once we clear away that rain from the south-east.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22By around the middle of the day that should clear and many

0:02:22 > 0:02:25places will be dry and bright. Sunny spells and fairly light winds.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28But the winds will be picking up all the while in the north and west

0:02:28 > 0:02:31through Good Friday evening as this next weather front approaches.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34That's going to bring yet another spell of wind and rain

0:02:34 > 0:02:35in from the Atlantic,

0:02:35 > 0:02:38so maybe not a great Saturday across Northern Ireland,

0:02:38 > 0:02:42western Scotland, the western side of England and Wales, that rain

0:02:42 > 0:02:45eventually moves its way ever eastwards. So we will see some rain

0:02:45 > 0:02:48cropping up later in the day across East Anglia and the south-east.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50Low pressure still in charge of our weather,

0:02:50 > 0:02:53driving those weather fronts from west to east for Easter Day itself.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55There should be some something of a window of drier

0:02:55 > 0:02:58and brighter weather in between weather fronts

0:02:58 > 0:03:00but some showers are going to get going during the day

0:03:00 > 0:03:02and those could spread to many areas.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04But there will seem be some drier and brighter interludes

0:03:04 > 0:03:06in between those showers

0:03:06 > 0:03:09and with a bit of sunshine we'll get 11 or 12 degrees out of the day.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11Now, on to Easter Monday and beyond -

0:03:11 > 0:03:14low pressure still in charge of our weather, could be

0:03:14 > 0:03:17quick stormy for some places, I suspect,

0:03:17 > 0:03:20on Easter Monday, with some gales or even severe gales around some

0:03:20 > 0:03:21coasts and hills in the south and west.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24And on through next week, it does remain rather unsettled.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26There will be some rain at times,

0:03:26 > 0:03:29the winds will be quite strong, and by night still on the chilly side.

0:03:29 > 0:03:30Bye for now.
