0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello there. It's been an unsettled end to the working week.

0:00:05 > 0:00:08We've had rain, sleet and snow over the hills

0:00:08 > 0:00:09and some thunderstorms, too.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Things will turn a bit quieter gradually through the weekend.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15On Saturday, though, still some wintry showers on the cards,

0:00:15 > 0:00:18and it will be feeling cold wherever you are on Saturday.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21Sunday, a cold, frosty start, but more in the way of sunshine,

0:00:21 > 0:00:25and some drier weather on the cards eventually by Sunday, too.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27Here's the pressure situation. We've still got a few fronts

0:00:27 > 0:00:30lingering, for eastern areas in particular, on Saturday

0:00:30 > 0:00:33but higher pressure starting to build in from the Atlantic.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35So, for Saturday morning, some outbreaks of rain,

0:00:35 > 0:00:38even some hill snow pushing through parts of northern England.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40Central and eastern parts of England keeping the cloud

0:00:40 > 0:00:43and the outbreaks of rain through the day, turning more showery.

0:00:43 > 0:00:47Some sleet and snow showers likely across the hills of Scotland

0:00:47 > 0:00:50for a time, but many western areas seeing some sunshine.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Look at those temperatures - single figures,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54just five degrees for Norwich.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56We've got this cold northerly wind, so anywhere exposed to that wind

0:00:56 > 0:00:59will feel pretty raw through the day.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02Now, overnight and as we head into Sunday, showers clear,

0:01:02 > 0:01:03winds fall light,

0:01:03 > 0:01:06particularly cold for the time of year, a really sharp

0:01:06 > 0:01:09frost really across the board as we move through into Sunday morning.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12It might be a little bit milder towards the south-east.

0:01:12 > 0:01:16But Sunday's set to start on a very chilly note with that sharp frost.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19Now, through the day, we will see a weak front just approaching the far

0:01:19 > 0:01:22north-west of the country, so for Sunday a bit cloudier with light,

0:01:22 > 0:01:24drizzly rain for Western Scotland

0:01:24 > 0:01:26and western parts of Northern Ireland,

0:01:26 > 0:01:27but there should be brighter spells

0:01:27 > 0:01:30for eastern parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.

0:01:30 > 0:01:33And for England and Wales, not a bad day after that early frost

0:01:33 > 0:01:36and some mist around. Sunny spells through much of the day.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39And those temperatures will be back up a few degrees warmer

0:01:39 > 0:01:42compared to Saturday but still rather cool for the time of year.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44Now, as we move into the new working week,

0:01:44 > 0:01:46heading on into Monday, this frontal system

0:01:46 > 0:01:49slips a little bit further south across the country.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51Not too much on that, but we could just see

0:01:51 > 0:01:53a few spots of light rain shifting south.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Temperatures still a little below average for the time of year

0:01:56 > 0:01:57but Monday's shaping up to be not a bad day.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59With that north-westerly air flow,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02temperatures between around about ten to fourteen degrees

0:02:02 > 0:02:05and some decent spells of sunshine, although there could be just

0:02:05 > 0:02:09a few spots of light rain shifting south during the day.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12Moving on into Tuesday, we start to see this large area of high

0:02:12 > 0:02:15pressure just becoming established across the UK.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Low pressure remaining well out towards the south.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20Yesterday, there was a thought that that low pressure might move up

0:02:20 > 0:02:23towards south-western parts of the UK, but, in fact,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26it looks like Tuesday will remain largely dry and settled.

0:02:26 > 0:02:2814 degrees or so towards the south-east,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30a little cooler where you're exposed to that breeze

0:02:30 > 0:02:33around parts of Scotland and eastern England, too.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37Into Wednesday, high pressure's still the main driving force.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39We've got low pressure out towards the south,

0:02:39 > 0:02:42low pressure also towards the north, so a trailing weather front

0:02:42 > 0:02:44likely to bring some rain across the north-west of Scotland.

0:02:44 > 0:02:48Elsewhere, things are dry and, after night-time frosts

0:02:48 > 0:02:50and some mist, should feel reasonably pleasant with

0:02:50 > 0:02:52the light winds and highs around 14 degrees or so.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55So, this is how we look the middle of next week, then.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58High pressure in charge, sitting out towards the Atlantic.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00We're likely to see a north-westerly influence to the weather,

0:03:00 > 0:03:02so still reasonably chilly.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04With high pressure in the Atlantic

0:03:04 > 0:03:06and low pressure becoming established towards the

0:03:06 > 0:03:10east, that leaves us with this cold northerly wind flow late next week.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13There could be some showers, wintry across parts of Scotland,

0:03:13 > 0:03:17also some rain showers likely around the east coast of England, too.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19Further south-west, in the shelter, some drier

0:03:19 > 0:03:21and some brighter weather to be seen.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24So, to end next week and next weekend, things are remaining cold,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26further showers, mainly in the north and the east,

0:03:26 > 0:03:29and a return to night-time frosts. Bye for now.
