0:00:03 > 0:00:05Such is the strength of sun at this time of year
0:00:05 > 0:00:07that Saturday may actually have felt pretty warm
0:00:07 > 0:00:09to some of you, but temperatures compared to last weekend
0:00:09 > 0:00:11were a good 10 to 13 degrees down.
0:00:11 > 0:00:13We've been on the wrong side
0:00:13 > 0:00:14of an area of high pressure,
0:00:14 > 0:00:16out to the west, we were on the cold side,
0:00:16 > 0:00:18dragging down the winds from the Arctic,
0:00:18 > 0:00:20and you felt that chill across eastern coasts
0:00:20 > 0:00:23on Saturday, with a bit more cloud
0:00:23 > 0:00:24and also breeze.
0:00:24 > 0:00:25That's still there on Sunday,
0:00:25 > 0:00:27but the breeze easing down a little bit,
0:00:27 > 0:00:30high pressure has nudged in a bit closer to us.
0:00:30 > 0:00:31It's also helped to bring in more cloud
0:00:31 > 0:00:33to the far north of Scotland for Sunday.
0:00:33 > 0:00:36A few showers in that, and a few afternoon showers
0:00:36 > 0:00:37for northern England, the east Midlands,
0:00:37 > 0:00:39towards East Anglia and potentially along
0:00:39 > 0:00:41southern parts of Sussex and Kent.
0:00:41 > 0:00:43But on the face of it, temperature values
0:00:43 > 0:00:45much as they were during Saturday,
0:00:45 > 0:00:47though it may feel warmer for some of you.
0:00:47 > 0:00:49More cloud to end Sunday compared with Saturday,
0:00:49 > 0:00:51and that cloud will stop the temperature
0:00:51 > 0:00:52dropping away too much.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54Notice the winds, though, starting to switch
0:00:54 > 0:00:56into a westerly direction.
0:00:56 > 0:00:57Sunday night into Monday, not as cold.
0:00:57 > 0:00:59If you're going to see a frost,
0:00:59 > 0:01:01it's going to be very, very isolated indeed.
0:01:01 > 0:01:04Monday, we've still got that ridge of high pressure with us,
0:01:04 > 0:01:05it's going to hold on,
0:01:05 > 0:01:07keeping things largely dry,
0:01:07 > 0:01:09but because we are not bringing the air down
0:01:09 > 0:01:11from the north, more off the Atlantic,
0:01:11 > 0:01:13it does mean it's going to bring
0:01:13 > 0:01:14more cloud than we've been used to
0:01:14 > 0:01:16through this weekend.
0:01:16 > 0:01:17Whilst there will be sunny spells,
0:01:17 > 0:01:19always a few cloudier moments during the day,
0:01:19 > 0:01:21and yes, the chance of some showers,
0:01:21 > 0:01:23very isolated, mainly across
0:01:23 > 0:01:24northern parts of the UK
0:01:24 > 0:01:26and perhaps down this eastern part as well,
0:01:26 > 0:01:29but temperatures across eastern coast of Scotland,
0:01:29 > 0:01:31eastern England, starting to rise.
0:01:31 > 0:01:33And they will rise further through this week -
0:01:33 > 0:01:34a warmer week in store for you, at least,
0:01:34 > 0:01:37as we start to see the winds coming off the Atlantic.
0:01:37 > 0:01:38That process starts as we go into Tuesday -
0:01:38 > 0:01:40the high pressure sinks to the south of us,
0:01:40 > 0:01:42will allow south-westerly winds to develop.
0:01:42 > 0:01:44Very light at this stage, for the most part.
0:01:44 > 0:01:46Sunniest across eastern areas,
0:01:46 > 0:01:47clouding over in the west later,
0:01:47 > 0:01:49some rain, particularly to the west of Scotland
0:01:49 > 0:01:51and Northern Ireland later -
0:01:51 > 0:01:53a few heavier bursts going into the evening.
0:01:53 > 0:01:54But temperatures widely
0:01:54 > 0:01:56in the mid to potentially high teens.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58Now, as this weather front pushes through
0:01:58 > 0:01:59the night into Wednesday,
0:01:59 > 0:02:02we'll see some heavy bursts of rain here and there.
0:02:02 > 0:02:04It's going to be a fairly showery feature
0:02:04 > 0:02:06and same again on Wednesday -
0:02:06 > 0:02:08occasional heavy, maybe thundery, showers.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10The overriding thing, though, for Wednesday
0:02:10 > 0:02:12is the wind strength - the windiest day
0:02:12 > 0:02:13we have had for quite a while.
0:02:13 > 0:02:15Temperatures still up, holding up into the mid-teens,
0:02:15 > 0:02:17maybe dropping later on
0:02:17 > 0:02:18as we start to pull in colder air
0:02:18 > 0:02:21on the western flank of that low pressure system.
0:02:21 > 0:02:23As we go into Thursday, though,
0:02:23 > 0:02:25it all cruxes on where this is going.
0:02:25 > 0:02:27There is a chance it may move to the south of us,
0:02:27 > 0:02:29across northern France, southern England,
0:02:29 > 0:02:32there's a chance it may develop into more of a low
0:02:32 > 0:02:34and push across the central swathe of the UK.
0:02:34 > 0:02:35At the moment, we're dealing with it
0:02:35 > 0:02:37as an area of more persistent rain,
0:02:37 > 0:02:39pushing through the Channel, some showers
0:02:39 > 0:02:41and heavy spells of rain further north,
0:02:41 > 0:02:43but a little sunshine in-between
0:02:43 > 0:02:44and then things turn blustery later.
0:02:44 > 0:02:46That is one aspect of the forecast
0:02:46 > 0:02:48which could change.
0:02:48 > 0:02:50Either way, what happens on Thursday,
0:02:50 > 0:02:52towards the end of the week, into next weekend,
0:02:52 > 0:02:54we have a Jet Stream which is set
0:02:54 > 0:02:56to buckle its way across the UK
0:02:56 > 0:02:57and, in doing so, it's set to bring
0:02:57 > 0:02:59an area of low pressure our way,
0:02:59 > 0:03:01which will bring some more wet and windy weather.
0:03:01 > 0:03:03So, the general story for the week
0:03:03 > 0:03:06is that temperatures will be rising, dragging the winds off the Atlantic,
0:03:06 > 0:03:08so gone are the cool conditions of the weekend.
0:03:08 > 0:03:10But windier weather than we have seen for a while
0:03:10 > 0:03:12and also some wetter weather at times too.
0:03:12 > 0:03:14But by the time we get into the following week,
0:03:14 > 0:03:16signs are high pressure will
0:03:16 > 0:03:17build in from the south-west.
0:03:17 > 0:03:19It may bring further showers around,
0:03:19 > 0:03:21and a rather cool flow from the north-west of the UK,
0:03:21 > 0:03:23but with heat building across the near continent,
0:03:23 > 0:03:25if that high pressure is a little further east,
0:03:25 > 0:03:28we will drag warmth back our way,
0:03:28 > 0:03:30and we'll keep you updated on that in the next few days.
0:03:32 > 0:03:33They might tell me one of my twins has died.
0:03:33 > 0:03:35They are not going to say that baby.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37I don't know how he's going to come out of there.
