0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello. Time to check on the weather for the next few days.
0:00:06 > 0:00:07It's looking a little unsettled.
0:00:07 > 0:00:09Monday wasn't bad at all.
0:00:09 > 0:00:10Scenes like this
0:00:10 > 0:00:12across the UK.
0:00:12 > 0:00:13Some lovely sunshine,
0:00:13 > 0:00:14clear skies.
0:00:14 > 0:00:16But, from Tuesday, a bit more cloud.
0:00:16 > 0:00:18Weather fronts are lining up there in the Atlantic,
0:00:18 > 0:00:19heading our way.
0:00:19 > 0:00:21This is basically
0:00:21 > 0:00:22the weather for the week ahead.
0:00:22 > 0:00:24Weather fronts across North America
0:00:24 > 0:00:25ready to swing our way
0:00:25 > 0:00:27and bring some rain,
0:00:27 > 0:00:29which is good for the gardens,
0:00:29 > 0:00:31but not everyone will be happy.
0:00:31 > 0:00:32The first weather fronts arrive
0:00:32 > 0:00:34first thing on Tuesday morning.
0:00:34 > 0:00:36The night actually would have been clear
0:00:36 > 0:00:38across the UK...
0:00:38 > 0:00:39Not too cold either.
0:00:39 > 0:00:4010 degrees in London,
0:00:40 > 0:00:427 or 8 in the north.
0:00:42 > 0:00:43A bit colder in the countryside.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45But the rain reaches Northern Ireland
0:00:45 > 0:00:47early in the morning.
0:00:47 > 0:00:49Belfast getting rainfall by mid-morning.
0:00:49 > 0:00:51By lunch, that rain should reach
0:00:51 > 0:00:53the Western Isles of Scotland,
0:00:53 > 0:00:55the western fringes of Wales
0:00:55 > 0:00:56and down to the south-west.
0:00:56 > 0:00:58Let's start with Scotland.
0:00:58 > 0:00:59This is four o'clock in the afternoon.
0:00:59 > 0:01:01Looking wet in Glasgow.
0:01:01 > 0:01:03Belfast will have seen rain by this stage.
0:01:03 > 0:01:04But look at that.
0:01:04 > 0:01:06Most of northern England,
0:01:06 > 0:01:08the midlands, East Anglia,
0:01:08 > 0:01:10the south-east all fine.
0:01:10 > 0:01:12In the clear. Some sunshine.
0:01:12 > 0:01:12Quite warm.
0:01:12 > 0:01:14Just about 19 or 20 in London.
0:01:14 > 0:01:16But cloudy with some rain
0:01:16 > 0:01:19for western and south-western Wales
0:01:19 > 0:01:21and Cornwall and Devon.
0:01:21 > 0:01:23The forecast for the middle
0:01:23 > 0:01:24of the week.
0:01:24 > 0:01:26Low pressure parks itself across the UK,
0:01:26 > 0:01:27so we get that sense
0:01:27 > 0:01:29that these lows are sliding in
0:01:29 > 0:01:30off the Atlantic,
0:01:30 > 0:01:32bringing a bit of a breeze.
0:01:32 > 0:01:33On Wednesday,
0:01:33 > 0:01:35these outbreaks of rain
0:01:35 > 0:01:36could turn out to be quite heavy.
0:01:36 > 0:01:39They'll come in the form of showers.
0:01:39 > 0:01:40Heavy downpour, some sun,
0:01:40 > 0:01:41possibly heavy downpour too.
0:01:41 > 0:01:43Maybe thunder and lightning.
0:01:43 > 0:01:45But notice that the weather improves
0:01:45 > 0:01:46later on Wednesday
0:01:46 > 0:01:48across many western areas.
0:01:48 > 0:01:50Some sunshine for Plymouth,
0:01:50 > 0:01:52Belfast and Glasgow.
0:01:52 > 0:01:53That's Wednesday.
0:01:53 > 0:01:55Thursday, yet another area
0:01:55 > 0:01:57of low pressure swings in off the Atlantic.
0:01:57 > 0:01:58Quite a few out there.
0:01:58 > 0:02:00Lots of isobars here so it'll be breezy.
0:02:00 > 0:02:02It won't be raining all the time,
0:02:02 > 0:02:04but rain is likely
0:02:04 > 0:02:05almost anywhere across the UK.
0:02:05 > 0:02:07With a bit of sunshine.
0:02:07 > 0:02:08Temperatures reaching 18 in London.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10Bit cooler there in Scotland.
0:02:10 > 0:02:12We're in-between weather systems
0:02:12 > 0:02:13on Friday.
0:02:13 > 0:02:15One here for the weekend.
0:02:15 > 0:02:16This one's out of the way.
0:02:16 > 0:02:18This is called a little ridge
0:02:18 > 0:02:19of high pressure.
0:02:19 > 0:02:21That means that the weather's a bit settled
0:02:21 > 0:02:23but not totally.
0:02:23 > 0:02:24We're still expecting clouds
0:02:24 > 0:02:26to develop during the day
0:02:26 > 0:02:27and produce some rain.
0:02:27 > 0:02:28But this is what's heading our way
0:02:28 > 0:02:30for Saturday.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31There's a bit of uncertainty
0:02:31 > 0:02:33exactly how big
0:02:33 > 0:02:34this low pressure's going to be,
0:02:34 > 0:02:36how much wind it'll bring,
0:02:36 > 0:02:37how much cloud and rain,
0:02:37 > 0:02:38but I think, at this stage,
0:02:38 > 0:02:40the basic message is that
0:02:40 > 0:02:42it'll be an unsettled weekend.
0:02:42 > 0:02:44We have to be prepared for some rain.
0:02:44 > 0:02:45There'll be some breaks in the cloud
0:02:45 > 0:02:47with sunshine,
0:02:47 > 0:02:49so it won't be raining from start to finish.
0:02:49 > 0:02:50But it will be unsettled.
0:02:52 > 0:02:53Next week,
0:02:53 > 0:02:54this is what the jet stream's
0:02:54 > 0:02:55probably going to do.
0:02:55 > 0:02:57Digs down across the Atlantic here
0:02:57 > 0:02:58and then upwards across the UK.
0:02:58 > 0:02:59That's a ridge.
0:02:59 > 0:03:01High pressure will probably
0:03:01 > 0:03:02build to the south or south-east,
0:03:02 > 0:03:04bringing settled dry weather,
0:03:04 > 0:03:05whereas these lows
0:03:05 > 0:03:06carried by the jet stream
0:03:06 > 0:03:08will nibble on north-western Britain
0:03:08 > 0:03:09bringing cloud.
0:03:09 > 0:03:10That's the likeliest scenario.
0:03:10 > 0:03:12It's possible that that jet stream
0:03:12 > 0:03:14will be a little bit further north,
0:03:14 > 0:03:15therefore it'll take its high pressure
0:03:15 > 0:03:17a little further north.
0:03:17 > 0:03:20The high pressure that forms to the south of the jet stream.
0:03:20 > 0:03:21So I think the weather should be dry.
0:03:21 > 0:03:23One of these two scenarios.
0:03:23 > 0:03:25The first one probably more likely.
0:03:25 > 0:03:26There's uncertainty for next week.
0:03:26 > 0:03:28Probably dry in the south-east.
0:03:28 > 0:03:29It should be fairly warm.
0:03:29 > 0:03:30At least it's not cold.
0:03:32 > 0:03:36Soak up the atmosphere at the most famous flower show in the world.
0:03:36 > 0:03:38Join the team for daily coverage
0:03:38 > 0:03:42from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.
