0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello. Let's check on this unsettled weather
0:00:05 > 0:00:06heading our way this week.
0:00:06 > 0:00:09No changes from yesterday's weather forecast.
0:00:09 > 0:00:10We'll throw in some jet streams and low pressures.
0:00:10 > 0:00:13Every day will be a little different,
0:00:13 > 0:00:16and it looks like it'll stay unsettled into the weekend.
0:00:16 > 0:00:17Even as I speak,
0:00:17 > 0:00:18these weather fronts
0:00:18 > 0:00:20are sweeping in off the Atlantic.
0:00:20 > 0:00:22I showed you a similar picture yesterday.
0:00:22 > 0:00:23There's more to come.
0:00:23 > 0:00:25One across North America here.
0:00:25 > 0:00:27That'll be racing our way for Saturday.
0:00:27 > 0:00:28In the short term, we've got rain
0:00:28 > 0:00:30across western parts of the UK.
0:00:30 > 0:00:32We start like this on Wednesday -
0:00:32 > 0:00:33on a mild note.
0:00:33 > 0:00:34Quite a bit of heavy rain around
0:00:34 > 0:00:36in these western counties,
0:00:36 > 0:00:38from Cornwall up to Scotland.
0:00:38 > 0:00:41Through the day, we'll develop
0:00:41 > 0:00:43heavy showers across parts of England.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45The west might brighten up
0:00:45 > 0:00:47later in the afternoon,
0:00:47 > 0:00:48but it's across England
0:00:48 > 0:00:50where we'll see most of the downpours.
0:00:50 > 0:00:52Very hit and miss weather on Wednesday.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54See these blobs of lime green here
0:00:54 > 0:00:56indicating potential downpours.
0:00:56 > 0:00:58Dry weather in-between too.
0:00:58 > 0:01:00Not so bad at this stage,
0:01:00 > 0:01:01four o'clock,
0:01:01 > 0:01:03across parts of Wales...
0:01:03 > 0:01:05Northern Ireland not bad.
0:01:05 > 0:01:06You'll notice Dumfries and Galloway,
0:01:06 > 0:01:08and parts of the Western Isles,
0:01:08 > 0:01:09also getting some sunshine,
0:01:09 > 0:01:11but eastern Scotland
0:01:11 > 0:01:12catching some showers.
0:01:12 > 0:01:13Very bitty, the weather,
0:01:13 > 0:01:15during the course of Wednesday.
0:01:15 > 0:01:17Here's a look at Thursday.
0:01:17 > 0:01:19One weather front moves out of the way.
0:01:19 > 0:01:21There's another, another and another out there
0:01:21 > 0:01:22in the Atlantic.
0:01:22 > 0:01:24Thursday starts off dry
0:01:24 > 0:01:25across most of the country.
0:01:25 > 0:01:27This is where the rain will be
0:01:27 > 0:01:29around lunchtime.
0:01:29 > 0:01:31Across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland...
0:01:31 > 0:01:32Through the afternoon,
0:01:32 > 0:01:34more of us will get the rain,
0:01:34 > 0:01:35but I think the heaviest of the rain
0:01:35 > 0:01:37will fall across north-western areas,
0:01:37 > 0:01:39and actually the south-east,
0:01:39 > 0:01:40and many of these eastern counties,
0:01:40 > 0:01:41will stay dry
0:01:41 > 0:01:43through most of the afternoon.
0:01:43 > 0:01:44It'll be quite warm.
0:01:44 > 0:01:4620 degrees in London. That's not bad.
0:01:46 > 0:01:47Friday.
0:01:47 > 0:01:48Low pressure to the north of the UK
0:01:48 > 0:01:50once again.
0:01:50 > 0:01:51We've got a few isobars here.
0:01:51 > 0:01:53So a brisk wind off the Atlantic.
0:01:53 > 0:01:54It's south-westerly.
0:01:54 > 0:01:56It's coming from a mild source,
0:01:56 > 0:01:58down into the southern climbs,
0:01:58 > 0:02:00so it's not going to be cold at all.
0:02:00 > 0:02:0219 degrees in London.
0:02:02 > 0:02:04This is the weekend.
0:02:04 > 0:02:05Not pretty.
0:02:05 > 0:02:07Looks like an autumn low.
0:02:07 > 0:02:09It's likely to bring strong winds.
0:02:09 > 0:02:11How strong, we don't know.
0:02:11 > 0:02:15Western and north-western coasts
0:02:15 > 0:02:17likely to get the strongest winds.
0:02:17 > 0:02:20Heavy rain in places too.
0:02:20 > 0:02:22In the south-east, it could be quite warm.
0:02:22 > 0:02:24Hazy sunshine there. 18 degrees.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27Most of us should get at least some rain.
0:02:27 > 0:02:29Then that low will pull out
0:02:29 > 0:02:31into the northern portion of the North Sea.
0:02:31 > 0:02:33So, this weekend
0:02:33 > 0:02:35doesn't look like constant rain
0:02:35 > 0:02:37but we have to be prepared
0:02:37 > 0:02:39for at least a dose of heavy rain
0:02:39 > 0:02:42and some strong gusty winds.
0:02:42 > 0:02:45Yesterday we were talking about a high pressure close to the UK
0:02:45 > 0:02:47and a low pressure to the north-west.
0:02:47 > 0:02:49That's still the case.
0:02:49 > 0:02:50With the jet stream dipping like so,
0:02:50 > 0:02:52we'll see that unsettled weather
0:02:52 > 0:02:54continue to affect north-western areas,
0:02:54 > 0:02:58but this time it looks like this is the preferred scenario.
0:02:58 > 0:03:00So the high pressure with the fine weather
0:03:00 > 0:03:02will stay out across the continent
0:03:02 > 0:03:04but, with these south-westerly winds coming in,
0:03:04 > 0:03:08we are actually going to be importing warmish weather.
0:03:10 > 0:03:14The long-term outlook, looking to the end of the month,
0:03:14 > 0:03:16that's when we anticipate there's a chance that
0:03:16 > 0:03:20the weather will slowly, slowly settle down.
0:03:20 > 0:03:23So, for next week, further low pressures,
0:03:23 > 0:03:25with the most unsettled weather
0:03:25 > 0:03:26in the north-west of the UK,
0:03:26 > 0:03:29but at least it's staying fairly warm.
0:03:29 > 0:03:30Bye.
