0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello there. We'll have a look at the weather for the holiday weekend

0:00:05 > 0:00:08in just a moment, but there are some changes ahead of that.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10Now, on Tuesday it was a lovely day for most of us

0:00:10 > 0:00:12with some sunshine, but on Wednesday

0:00:12 > 0:00:14there'll be a very different look

0:00:14 > 0:00:16and feel to the weather.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18High-pressure receding to a certain extent

0:00:18 > 0:00:20and we've got lowering pressure

0:00:20 > 0:00:21over the near continent

0:00:21 > 0:00:22that has been developing cloud.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24That has been filling in the North Sea

0:00:24 > 0:00:26and it's that cloud

0:00:26 > 0:00:27heading our way right now

0:00:27 > 0:00:28and it's going to be bringing with it

0:00:28 > 0:00:30some rain and drizzle across East Anglia,

0:00:30 > 0:00:32maybe the North Midlands,

0:00:32 > 0:00:34developing in northern England too.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36Elsewhere, it's probably going to be dry,

0:00:36 > 0:00:37dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland

0:00:37 > 0:00:39during the day, but there won't be

0:00:39 > 0:00:41as much sunshine and so temperatures

0:00:41 > 0:00:42will be lower on Wednesday.

0:00:42 > 0:00:43It will feel chilly

0:00:43 > 0:00:46along those North Sea coasts in the breeze.

0:00:46 > 0:00:47It will feel cold for the time of year

0:00:47 > 0:00:49if you're stuck underneath this thickening

0:00:49 > 0:00:51and lowering cloud and rain and drizzle.

0:00:51 > 0:00:53Through the Midlands towards the south east

0:00:53 > 0:00:55with a lot more cloud,

0:00:55 > 0:00:57temperatures six degrees lower than Tuesday,

0:00:57 > 0:00:58a little sunshine perhaps

0:00:58 > 0:00:59for Wales and the south-west,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01but probably no more than that.

0:01:01 > 0:01:02And through the evening,

0:01:02 > 0:01:04we're going to find the rain turning heavier

0:01:04 > 0:01:06as it pushes further into northern England,

0:01:06 > 0:01:07perhaps into southern Scotland,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09eventually across to Northern Ireland.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11That will be accompanied by a lot of low cloud

0:01:11 > 0:01:13and there'll be some hill fog

0:01:13 > 0:01:14around as well.

0:01:14 > 0:01:15Not too cold, breaks in the cloud,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17though, across the south.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19Some sunshine on Sunday for southern England,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21developing eventually across much of Wales

0:01:21 > 0:01:23into the Midlands.

0:01:23 > 0:01:24We're going to hang onto cloud,

0:01:24 > 0:01:26and patchy, mostly light rain or drizzle

0:01:26 > 0:01:28for northern England, southern Scotland

0:01:28 > 0:01:29and Northern Ireland.

0:01:29 > 0:01:30The central belt and northern Scotland

0:01:30 > 0:01:32perhaps seeing some sunshine,

0:01:32 > 0:01:33a bit warmer here

0:01:33 > 0:01:35but the real warmth is across the south,

0:01:35 > 0:01:38temperatures 20 or 21 degrees

0:01:38 > 0:01:39in the sunshine.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43And it's a warming trend as we head towards the end of the week.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45For northern areas with pressure higher,

0:01:45 > 0:01:47it should be largely dry, whereas further south

0:01:47 > 0:01:49with the higher temperatures,

0:01:49 > 0:01:52we'll see some showers, heavy and thundery.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54Bit of a messy picture on Friday,

0:01:54 > 0:01:56still some light and patchy rain

0:01:56 > 0:01:57across northern England.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59Perhaps brighter for Scotland

0:01:59 > 0:02:00and Northern Ireland

0:02:00 > 0:02:01where it should be largely dry

0:02:01 > 0:02:02and a bit warmer.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04To the south, some sunshine

0:02:04 > 0:02:06and that could again trigger some showers.

0:02:06 > 0:02:08It's a very slow-moving weather pattern,

0:02:08 > 0:02:11you could say, for the next few days.

0:02:11 > 0:02:12Very few isobars on the chart,

0:02:12 > 0:02:13so hardly a breath of wind

0:02:13 > 0:02:14as we head into Saturday.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16You don't need to worry about that big low.

0:02:16 > 0:02:17Broadly speaking,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19the pressure is high enough

0:02:19 > 0:02:20to keep northern parts of the UK dry,

0:02:20 > 0:02:22very few showers here.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24To the south, we'll see showers developing

0:02:24 > 0:02:25and those are most likely

0:02:25 > 0:02:27for Wales and the south-west

0:02:27 > 0:02:28where they could be heavy and thundery.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Perhaps the showers spread out

0:02:30 > 0:02:32a bit more on Sunday,

0:02:32 > 0:02:33across southern England,

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Wales and the Midlands.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36Again, towards the north,

0:02:36 > 0:02:37where pressure is higher,

0:02:37 > 0:02:39it should be mostly dry.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42A little chilly around some of those North Sea coasts perhaps.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Here's a snapshot of Holiday Monday

0:02:44 > 0:02:48and high-pressure centred towards the north-west of the UK.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51It's keeping most of us actually dry probably on Monday

0:02:51 > 0:02:54but there is a big low pressure over the near continent.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56It's not far away and in between lots of isobars

0:02:56 > 0:02:58so a stronger wind by then.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00We're going to keep an eye on this low pressure.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02It could get a bit closer to us.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04Heading towards the south-east could bring some stronger winds

0:03:04 > 0:03:07but also some rain early next week,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09maybe some thundery rain around as well.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11The position of that low means that

0:03:11 > 0:03:14we may be drawing in wind from the east,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17so that's going to bring some major temperature differences.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20The eastern side of the UK somewhat cooler,

0:03:20 > 0:03:2213 degrees or so nearer the coast.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Further west, where we should see some sunshine,

0:03:25 > 0:03:27temperatures will be a bit higher

0:03:27 > 0:03:29possibly 19 or 20.

0:03:29 > 0:03:30That's it. Goodbye.

0:03:31 > 0:03:32WIND WHISTLES

0:03:32 > 0:03:33'I've had a most rare vision.'

0:03:35 > 0:03:37BJORK: # You ring that bell

0:03:37 > 0:03:38# Bim, bam

0:03:38 > 0:03:41# You shout and you yell

0:03:41 > 0:03:42# Ho, ho

0:03:42 > 0:03:45# You broke the spell
