0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello, thanks for tuning in. The weather in the last few days
0:00:05 > 0:00:08hasn't really changed an awful lot across the UK.
0:00:08 > 0:00:10It's been beautiful and sunny across so many western areas of the UK.
0:00:10 > 0:00:13Here's an example from Cornwall - sunny skies.
0:00:13 > 0:00:15Eastern areas - a completely different story.
0:00:15 > 0:00:16Overcast, cold and windy
0:00:16 > 0:00:18with some spots of rain as well
0:00:18 > 0:00:21and this cloud has been stuck here for many, many days,
0:00:21 > 0:00:24but finally we are starting to see a change in the weather pattern
0:00:24 > 0:00:27and all of this cloud is going to shift.
0:00:27 > 0:00:30No more are we going to see this huge contrast between one city
0:00:30 > 0:00:33and another that are just miles away.
0:00:33 > 0:00:35The forecast for tonight and into
0:00:35 > 0:00:36the early hours of Saturday
0:00:36 > 0:00:39sees still a lot of cloud across the UK,
0:00:39 > 0:00:40a lot of mist and murk as well.
0:00:40 > 0:00:42This is actually sea fog lapping
0:00:42 > 0:00:44onto some of the coastlines there
0:00:44 > 0:00:46of eastern and south-eastern parts of the UK.
0:00:46 > 0:00:50The west will probably remain fairly clear and temperatures will be
0:00:50 > 0:00:53on the high side tonight, anywhere between 10-14 degrees.
0:00:53 > 0:00:56The weekend is looking warm, there'll be some sunshine
0:00:56 > 0:00:58and there's just the chance of catching a few heavy showers
0:00:58 > 0:01:00during the weekend and even some thunderstorms,
0:01:00 > 0:01:03as we'll find later into next week.
0:01:03 > 0:01:06The morning picture looks something like this -
0:01:06 > 0:01:08we have weather fronts crossing the country.
0:01:08 > 0:01:11These weather fronts have been painfully slow-moving across the UK.
0:01:11 > 0:01:12They're slap-bang in the centre
0:01:12 > 0:01:14of the country during the course
0:01:14 > 0:01:15of Saturday morning.
0:01:15 > 0:01:17Lots of cloud associated with it,
0:01:17 > 0:01:19mist and murk further east as well
0:01:19 > 0:01:20and even some spots of drizzle.
0:01:20 > 0:01:23The far west of the UK, maybe the tip of Cornwall there,
0:01:23 > 0:01:26getting some sunshine first thing in the morning.
0:01:26 > 0:01:27Then what's going to happen, basically,
0:01:27 > 0:01:31is this weather front will very slowly move a little bit further
0:01:31 > 0:01:33towards the west and a bit further towards the south
0:01:33 > 0:01:35and finally it'll start to fall apart,
0:01:35 > 0:01:38so all of this cloud will start to fall apart as well,
0:01:38 > 0:01:40allowing for some sunny spells,
0:01:40 > 0:01:42but the heat from the sunny spells,
0:01:42 > 0:01:44with all of that moisture that's left over,
0:01:44 > 0:01:47will actually generate a few showers, possibly across parts
0:01:47 > 0:01:50of western Britain and also the south-east as well.
0:01:50 > 0:01:52Temperatures will comfortably get up into the 20s for many of us
0:01:52 > 0:01:55and in fact they'll keep on rising as we go through
0:01:55 > 0:01:56the course of Sunday.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58In fact, mid-20s across the south-east,
0:01:58 > 0:02:00Yorkshire could even touch the mid-20s
0:02:00 > 0:02:03and a very pleasant 20-21 there
0:02:03 > 0:02:05for Belfast and Glasgow as well.
0:02:05 > 0:02:06Also, a very sunny day.
0:02:06 > 0:02:08Yesterday, we were looking at the jet stream.
0:02:08 > 0:02:11This is another look at the jet stream for early next week
0:02:11 > 0:02:13and we still have that kink in the jet stream there
0:02:13 > 0:02:14with an area of low pressure
0:02:14 > 0:02:17and ahead of that, we start to see warm air coming out of France.
0:02:17 > 0:02:19In fact, it'll turn quite hot
0:02:19 > 0:02:22across France this weekend into next week.
0:02:22 > 0:02:24Some of that warmth will be wafting in our direction,
0:02:24 > 0:02:25but it'll be very humid,
0:02:25 > 0:02:28so there's a risk of some thunderstorms as well.
0:02:28 > 0:02:31Temperatures look set to remain pretty high,
0:02:31 > 0:02:34possibly even into the high 20s into next week.
0:02:34 > 0:02:36It'll be very difficult predicting
0:02:36 > 0:02:37exactly how warm it's going to get,
0:02:37 > 0:02:38because it's all down
0:02:38 > 0:02:41to the cloud cover and the thunderstorms.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43If we get a lot of storms, temperatures won't be so high.
0:02:43 > 0:02:44If we get more sunshine,
0:02:44 > 0:02:47those temperatures can only climb
0:02:47 > 0:02:48in that strong June sunshine
0:02:48 > 0:02:49and all the humidity.
0:02:49 > 0:02:51Here's an approximation of some of the storms
0:02:51 > 0:02:54and where they could be during the course of Tuesday.
0:02:54 > 0:02:56You can see they've migrated just that little bit further
0:02:56 > 0:02:58towards the north as well, so that's Tuesday.
0:02:58 > 0:03:01The outlook into the end of next week -
0:03:01 > 0:03:04the jet stream kind of changes its orientation a bit
0:03:04 > 0:03:07and we'll see this flow of slightly cooler air
0:03:07 > 0:03:08coming off the Atlantic.
0:03:08 > 0:03:11If not cool, then at least a bit fresher compared to what
0:03:11 > 0:03:14we would have seen during this weekend
0:03:14 > 0:03:16and the start of next week,
0:03:16 > 0:03:20so thunderstorms are on the cards over the next week or so.
0:03:20 > 0:03:24It'll stay warm and also it'll turn cooler eventually
0:03:24 > 0:03:28into next weekend when that jet stream shifts its pattern.
0:03:28 > 0:03:30That's it, thanks for watching.
