0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello. During Sunday, sunshine and warmth becoming more widespread

0:00:06 > 0:00:08across the UK. That makes a big change for eastern areas,

0:00:08 > 0:00:11some of which have been under cloud for a week now.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13You know, last week, the sunshine and warmth wasn't

0:00:13 > 0:00:16evenly distributed. In the east, with the cloud,

0:00:16 > 0:00:19just 11 or 12 degrees. As for western parts, you had an absolutely

0:00:19 > 0:00:21glorious week with plenty of sunshine -

0:00:21 > 0:00:22temperatures in the low 20s.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25Now, the reason for the improvement in the east is this weather front

0:00:25 > 0:00:28has moved through. It's cleared things up a bit and the clearer air

0:00:28 > 0:00:31has introduced more sunshine - a process that completes during

0:00:31 > 0:00:35Sunday - and it's going to feel warmer as a result. There is still a

0:00:35 > 0:00:37breeze coming in from the sea to some of these North Sea coasts.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40There is a risk of patchy low cloud. Does hold the temperature down a

0:00:40 > 0:00:43bit, compared with elsewhere, but if you get some sunshine, wherever you

0:00:43 > 0:00:46are across the UK, really pleasant, but for many, low to mid 20s.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Risk of a late day shower/thunderstorm -

0:00:48 > 0:00:50southwest England, South Wales,

0:00:50 > 0:00:53the west of Northern Ireland. Cumbria - one or two into Scotland.

0:00:53 > 0:00:56Most of us will avoid them and stay dry and just have a

0:00:56 > 0:00:59glorious day, but you can see the contrasting temperatures between the

0:00:59 > 0:01:02bulk of the UK, and just right along this North Sea coast.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04Now, the picture for Monday, low pressure throughout this week is

0:01:04 > 0:01:07going to be sitting just to the west of us in the Atlantic, but it's

0:01:07 > 0:01:11beginning to throw up a bit of energy, Monday into Tuesday.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13That will just increase the potential

0:01:13 > 0:01:15for these showers and thunderstorms to

0:01:15 > 0:01:18break out across western parts during Monday,

0:01:18 > 0:01:22whereas the further east you are, you will stay dry, you'll get some

0:01:22 > 0:01:25sunshine. Wherever you are in the sunshine, it's going to feel very

0:01:25 > 0:01:29warm on Monday. It's also going to feel rather humid, as well.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Still a bit cooler along North Sea coasts.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34This area of energy, this trough of low pressure, begins to push across

0:01:34 > 0:01:38the UK during Tuesday. What that means is the potential for catching

0:01:38 > 0:01:42a heavy - maybe torrential - downpour that could be thundery

0:01:42 > 0:01:44increases on Tuesday.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47But still, if you avoid those and you see some sunshine, it's going to

0:01:47 > 0:01:51feel very warm. It's on the sticky side, it is quite humid.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53Now, as we go from Tuesday into Wednesday,

0:01:53 > 0:01:56that trough of low pressure is beginning to ease away eastwards,

0:01:56 > 0:02:00and, behind it, another ridge of high pressure begins to nudge in.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03So during Wednesday, we begin to kill off some of these showers.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06They're less widespread, they are more isolated in nature,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09more of us will stay dry. It's a case of broken cloud,

0:02:09 > 0:02:12some occasional sunshine - temperatures may not be quite so

0:02:12 > 0:02:14high, but still, it will feel very

0:02:14 > 0:02:15pleasant when you're in the sunshine.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18And then by the time we get to Thursday, that high pressure is

0:02:18 > 0:02:23across us. This weather front is starting to edge closer to us.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26For western areas on Thursday, later in the day, you may see a bit more

0:02:26 > 0:02:28cloud. There's a potential for catching a shower. A lot of

0:02:28 > 0:02:31uncertainty about timing, though, at this stage, so that's something

0:02:31 > 0:02:33we'll keep you updated on.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37So let's sum up the weather for much of the week ahead. It's on the very

0:02:37 > 0:02:40warm side - the humid side, as well. There'll be some lovely sunshine

0:02:40 > 0:02:43around at times, but remember, particularly during the first half

0:02:43 > 0:02:47of the week, there will be a few of these heavy and possibly thundery

0:02:47 > 0:02:48downpours around.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50Then that takes us to the end of the week.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54Now, I've referenced the area of low pressure sitting to the west of us,

0:02:54 > 0:02:58patiently in the wings. Low pressure now starts to gradually push towards

0:02:58 > 0:03:02us and, as that happens, particularly into next weekend,

0:03:02 > 0:03:03things begin to turn more unsettled.

0:03:03 > 0:03:06There's a greater potential for seeing some rain across the west

0:03:06 > 0:03:09of the UK, where you've been quite dry, quite warm -

0:03:09 > 0:03:11gardeners and growers may well appreciate that -

0:03:11 > 0:03:14as low pressure comes in, the breeze begins to pick up, as well.

0:03:14 > 0:03:18And the process is gradual, but temperatures begin to ease down from

0:03:18 > 0:03:21the very warm side to something closer to normal for the time of

0:03:21 > 0:03:24year. We'll begin to lose some of that humidity, as well, as low

0:03:24 > 0:03:29pressure comes back. That's it for now. More, as ever, online.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34The voice you're hearing is mine.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37It was recorded last night after I had a few pints.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39I'm doing this to show that...

0:03:39 > 0:03:43(slurs) alcohol takes so long to pass through me body.
