0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello, there. It's been a week of extremes

0:00:05 > 0:00:09and the week ahead looks like continuing in the same vein.

0:00:09 > 0:00:13Now, once again, we've ended the week with some warm sunshine,

0:00:13 > 0:00:15temperatures 23, 24 degrees.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18It may not get as warm as that again in the next ten days

0:00:18 > 0:00:21but we are going to see some more rain a bit like this

0:00:21 > 0:00:23and we had some thunderstorms around as well.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26And we could see more heavy showers developing again

0:00:26 > 0:00:28to start the weekend.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31Again, it's quite a messy picture - a lot of cloud,

0:00:31 > 0:00:34limited amount of sunshine, a few showers from the word go

0:00:34 > 0:00:37and some more heavy ones developing in the afternoon,

0:00:37 > 0:00:39particularly across the Midlands

0:00:39 > 0:00:42and maybe parts of northern England and North Wales too.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45The driest weather could be towards the south-east of England

0:00:45 > 0:00:48where it will still be quite warm and muggy, but cooler

0:00:48 > 0:00:53in Scotland underneath grey cloud and a little light rain or drizzle.

0:00:53 > 0:00:56Those heavy, thundery showers will continue into the evening

0:00:56 > 0:00:58before losing a bit of their oomph overnight,

0:00:58 > 0:01:01but we will see some more rain coming into Wales and the south-west

0:01:01 > 0:01:05by the end of Saturday night in time for Sunday morning.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07Again, quite a warm and muggy night

0:01:07 > 0:01:09except in the north-east of Scotland.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11That rain that's coming into the south-west

0:01:11 > 0:01:13is coming in on these weather fronts.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16There's more than one of them, it's quite a messy picture.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19They are all driven by an area of low pressure the centre of which,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21for a while, is going to be out in the Atlantic.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23More of a breeze, perhaps, in the south-west of England

0:01:23 > 0:01:26will blow this rain up across England and Wales,

0:01:26 > 0:01:27Northern Ireland too.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30Either side of that there may be a glimpse of sunshine but that will

0:01:30 > 0:01:33only trigger some more showers and they could be heavy again.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36If anything, temperatures could be a little bit lower on Sunday.

0:01:36 > 0:01:40It's a slightly cooling trend - 15 in Glasgow, 19 in London

0:01:40 > 0:01:41if you're lucky.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45Again, a complicated weather picture as we head into the beginning

0:01:45 > 0:01:48of the week with numerous weather fronts on the scene.

0:01:48 > 0:01:52They're more showery bands of rain, if you like, on Monday,

0:01:52 > 0:01:55and broadly speaking there will be limited sunshine

0:01:55 > 0:01:58but quite a few showers around on Monday.

0:01:58 > 0:01:59Still some warmth, though,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02particularly across the south-east and East Anglia,

0:02:02 > 0:02:05but otherwise temperatures are about where they should be

0:02:05 > 0:02:06at this time of year.

0:02:06 > 0:02:10So, from Monday into Tuesday, still dominated by this slow-moving,

0:02:10 > 0:02:12large, elongated area of low pressure.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14To the south there will be a stronger breeze

0:02:14 > 0:02:17perhaps running through the English Channel, but otherwise,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19when you get the showers, they are going to be slow-moving

0:02:19 > 0:02:21and may be heavy and thundery too.

0:02:21 > 0:02:26Those temperatures not changing very much - 17 to 19 degrees.

0:02:26 > 0:02:27I've removed all the fronts

0:02:27 > 0:02:31because essentially it's just dominated by an area of low pressure

0:02:31 > 0:02:33for Wednesday. It's sitting to the north-east of the UK.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35Again, not many isobars on the chart,

0:02:35 > 0:02:39so the wind will be light, showers will develop after.

0:02:39 > 0:02:40Most places starting off dry

0:02:40 > 0:02:44but in the afternoon most places will be pretty wet, I suspect.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46Some heavy showers are likely.

0:02:46 > 0:02:47So, that's Wednesday.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Let's go beyond Wednesday into the end of the week

0:02:50 > 0:02:51and into the weekend

0:02:51 > 0:02:54and we start with that area of low pressure giving us all the showers.

0:02:54 > 0:02:58It should ease away, fade away up towards Scandinavia

0:02:58 > 0:03:01allowing pressure to build from the south-west.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04But that area of high pressure, whilst settling things down,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06may not be around for long because the jet stream,

0:03:06 > 0:03:10which is weak at the moment, strengthens and may start to blow in

0:03:10 > 0:03:13an area of low pressure back in from off the Atlantic.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16So, what does it all mean? Well, it means towards the end of the week

0:03:16 > 0:03:19we've still got some heavy showers, some thunderstorms are likely.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22The breeze may pick up for a while, making it feel cooler,

0:03:22 > 0:03:25briefly drier, hopefully coinciding with the weekend,

0:03:25 > 0:03:28where we should see a little more sunshine.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30That's it from me, I'll see you again.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34A low ball into the penalty area.

0:03:34 > 0:03:35Gareth Bale turns.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37And Gareth Bale has scored!

0:03:37 > 0:03:39As they come in towards the home straight,

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Jessica Ennis challenges Brianne Theisen-Eaton.

0:03:42 > 0:03:43Rosberg looks to the outside
