0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello. We've had some pretty lively whether over the past few days.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09On Tuesday, heavy thunderstorms brought scenes

0:00:09 > 0:00:11a bit like the one behind me taken in Birmingham.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13So flash flooding was reported.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15We could see similar scenes over the next couple of days,

0:00:15 > 0:00:18with more of those torrential showers in the forecast.

0:00:18 > 0:00:20Now, this is how Wednesday is shaping up.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22We start the day already with quite a few showers.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24Heavy and thundery ones developing

0:00:24 > 0:00:27across central and southern parts of the England and Wales, too.

0:00:27 > 0:00:28Some areas staying dry.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30For instance, towards the far south-east.

0:00:30 > 0:00:32Quite a bit of brightness around.

0:00:32 > 0:00:35And also for parts of North Wales, perhaps towards Northern Ireland.

0:00:35 > 0:00:36Some sunshine, too.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39Northern and eastern Scotland will see quite a lot of cloud

0:00:39 > 0:00:41and outbreaks of rain lasting really

0:00:41 > 0:00:43through much of the day on Wednesday.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45Then moving through Wednesday night and on into Thursday,

0:00:45 > 0:00:48well, the heavy showers tend to ease for a time,

0:00:48 > 0:00:50but we will stick with the showery theme.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52And that rain across Scotland edges further south

0:00:52 > 0:00:54into parts of northern England.

0:00:54 > 0:00:58Quite cloudy and drizzly along the eastern coast of England for a time,

0:00:58 > 0:01:00as we move through into Thursday.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Now, Thursday, again, a day of sunshine and showers.

0:01:02 > 0:01:06Down to the fact that we've got this slow-moving area of low pressure,

0:01:06 > 0:01:07which is just churning away

0:01:07 > 0:01:10across central and southern parts of the country

0:01:10 > 0:01:11through much of this week.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13So for Thursday, spot the difference.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15Sunshine and showers across England and Wales.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Some of these showers, once again, heavy and thundery.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20There could well be lying surface water,

0:01:20 > 0:01:23perhaps even a chance of further flash flooding.

0:01:23 > 0:01:24Now, the north and Northern Ireland

0:01:24 > 0:01:26seeing some dry and some bright weather,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28although Scotland will stay cloudy with outbreaks of rain,

0:01:28 > 0:01:31particularly in the north and east, where it will feel quite chilly.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34But further south, 21 Celsius between those showers.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37So it certainly won't be raining all the time.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39It's a mix of sunshine and showers.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42As we move through the latter part of Thursday and on into Friday now,

0:01:42 > 0:01:45that low pressure is starting to ease away towards the south,

0:01:45 > 0:01:46starting to fill a bit.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49So a subtle change, I think, for the day on Friday.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51We draw in a bit more of a northerly breeze.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53Still some showers around for the southern half of England

0:01:53 > 0:01:54and south Wales, too.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56And we've still got further rain

0:01:56 > 0:01:58across northern and eastern Scotland.

0:01:58 > 0:02:00But elsewhere, some drier and some brighter weather

0:02:00 > 0:02:02in between any of those showers.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05By the time we get to Saturday, most of the showers will be situated

0:02:05 > 0:02:08across eastern and south-eastern parts of the country.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10They'll be fairly hit and miss, it looks like,

0:02:10 > 0:02:11by the time we get to Saturday.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13Some uncertainty on the detail here.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15But it looks like higher pressure does build in,

0:02:15 > 0:02:18leaving some drier and some brighter weather for many of us.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20Lighter winds, too, by the time we get to Saturday.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23So I think we lose the intensity to those storms on into the weekend.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26And then through Saturday night and into Sunday,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28an area of high pressure across much of the country,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30bringing a fairly quiet spell of weather.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32We've got this front moving in from the north-west

0:02:32 > 0:02:34as we head through the day on Sunday.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37So much of the country, again, having not a bad day.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39Some sunny, some dry weather on Sunday.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42Some rain, though, likely to affect parts of Northern Ireland

0:02:42 > 0:02:45and particularly the western half of Scotland later in the day.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48Ahead of that, in the sunshine, 20 degrees will feel fairly pleasant.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51Then looking at the early part of next week,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53high pressure likely to sit out somewhere towards the south-west.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56We will see areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic,

0:02:56 > 0:03:00mainly affecting parts of Northern Ireland and perhaps Scotland, too.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Some uncertainty on the detail of where any low pressure will move.

0:03:03 > 0:03:06But it looks like through the middle part of next week what we'll see

0:03:06 > 0:03:09is the wetter and the windier conditions generally confined

0:03:09 > 0:03:11to the north-western half of the country,

0:03:11 > 0:03:12whereas towards the south and the east

0:03:12 > 0:03:16we're more likely to see some spells of drier and brighter weather.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18So to summarise next week for you,

0:03:18 > 0:03:19things will remain generally unsettled.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21Some brighter, some drier weather,

0:03:21 > 0:03:23particularly towards the south and the east,

0:03:23 > 0:03:26but still a risk of some heavy and some thundery showers around.

0:03:26 > 0:03:29That's how it's looking. We'll keep you up to date right here.
