0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello. I suspect if we did an opinion poll on this week's weather,

0:00:06 > 0:00:08most of us would be in the 'miserable' camp.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10It's been awful...but not for all.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12Look at this lovely picture

0:00:12 > 0:00:14from Guernsey.

0:00:14 > 0:00:15In fact, we've seen beautiful sunshine

0:00:15 > 0:00:17across the Northern Isles this week.

0:00:17 > 0:00:18But for many

0:00:18 > 0:00:20the shower clouds gathered

0:00:20 > 0:00:21and, when they came,

0:00:21 > 0:00:23they came with intensity.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25They've brought localised flooding

0:00:25 > 0:00:26in places too.

0:00:26 > 0:00:28The low pressure responsible

0:00:28 > 0:00:29is drifting away.

0:00:29 > 0:00:30High pressure is set to build

0:00:30 > 0:00:31and quieten things down

0:00:31 > 0:00:33as we move towards the weekend.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35It's only a fleeting glance.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Further lows await in the wings,

0:00:37 > 0:00:38ready to arrive

0:00:38 > 0:00:40for the start of a new working week.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43For Friday, there's potential

0:00:43 > 0:00:44for rain.

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Some of it light and patchy,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47drifting south and east

0:00:47 > 0:00:48out of eastern Scotland

0:00:48 > 0:00:50and into north-east England.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52We'll see thundery downpours

0:00:52 > 0:00:53across England and Wales.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55They should be further south

0:00:55 > 0:00:57and east, compared to recent days.

0:00:57 > 0:00:58Some of them will be heavy.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00Possibility again of localised flooding.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02The further north and west you go,

0:01:02 > 0:01:03the best of the brightness

0:01:03 > 0:01:05you will see on Friday.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07The showers will ease Friday

0:01:07 > 0:01:08through to Saturday,

0:01:08 > 0:01:09but we'll still see

0:01:09 > 0:01:11the legacy of low cloud and drizzle

0:01:11 > 0:01:13filtering in off the North Sea

0:01:13 > 0:01:15and spilling south and east.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17It could be a disappointing start

0:01:17 > 0:01:19first thing in the morning

0:01:19 > 0:01:21across the south-east on Saturday.

0:01:21 > 0:01:22Be patient.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24The weather will improve.

0:01:24 > 0:01:25Brightness and sunshine

0:01:25 > 0:01:27will push through out to the west.

0:01:27 > 0:01:28That's where we're likely to see

0:01:28 > 0:01:30the best of the weather on Saturday.

0:01:30 > 0:01:33Highest values of 12-18 degrees.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35A good deal of dry weather.

0:01:35 > 0:01:36As we go into Sunday,

0:01:36 > 0:01:37it looks like we'll see

0:01:37 > 0:01:39a weak weather front

0:01:39 > 0:01:40pushing in from the north and west.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42By now, just a band of cloud

0:01:42 > 0:01:44with maybe some isolated showers.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46But that means that eastern areas

0:01:46 > 0:01:47may see more sun

0:01:47 > 0:01:50for the second half of the weekend.

0:01:50 > 0:01:51As a consequence,

0:01:51 > 0:01:53we'll see temperatures a degree or so higher

0:01:53 > 0:01:55with a south-westerly wind taking over.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Highs of 12 to 20 degrees.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59That's 68 Fahrenheit.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01That weather front moves through on Monday

0:02:01 > 0:02:03bringing some wet and windy weather

0:02:03 > 0:02:05for a time, with showers pushing in.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07The wind still coming from a south-westerly direction,

0:02:07 > 0:02:09so it's a milder source. 17-20 degrees.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11If you keep the sunshine,

0:02:11 > 0:02:14you might see temperatures into the low 20s.

0:02:14 > 0:02:15The front clears through,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Monday into Tuesday.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Still rather breezy into the north-west.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22Still the potential for showers on Tuesday.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24It looks like we'll see outbreaks of showers

0:02:24 > 0:02:27easing away, improving again

0:02:27 > 0:02:29to more sunshine coming through.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32Highs likely of 17-22 degrees.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34That's 72 Fahrenheit.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36If we move out of Tuesday

0:02:36 > 0:02:38to the 6-10 day period,

0:02:38 > 0:02:40we keep that high potentially

0:02:40 > 0:02:42down to the south,

0:02:42 > 0:02:43but always the risk

0:02:43 > 0:02:44of tightly squeezed isobars

0:02:44 > 0:02:46into the north and west,

0:02:46 > 0:02:48and low pressures moving in.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50And it looks as though the jet stream will start to be

0:02:50 > 0:02:51more of a key player.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54It's been fairly weak and flabby in recent days,

0:02:54 > 0:02:57but it looks likely to sandwich itself through

0:02:57 > 0:02:59the spine of the country, with low pressure to the north,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01and that will keep things pretty unsettled...

0:03:01 > 0:03:04High pressure to the south, which potentially could give us

0:03:04 > 0:03:05some drier weather.

0:03:05 > 0:03:10However, if the jet stream has more of a defined kink to it,

0:03:10 > 0:03:12the 6-10 day period will still keep the low pressure up to

0:03:12 > 0:03:16the north-west, but we could drive in more warm, humid air from

0:03:16 > 0:03:20the near continent, and we all know what that could potentially lead to.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Yes, it could stay more unsettled and windy,

0:03:23 > 0:03:25but, despite it being warm,

0:03:25 > 0:03:29we could see the potential for some thundery activity in the south-east.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31A lot of uncertainty. We'll firm up as and when.

0:03:33 > 0:03:36Their own war heroes are arming themselves to march on the palace.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39Your friends are trouble.

0:03:39 > 0:03:40Oh, no! Fire!
