:00:07. > :00:12.They are seeing a shift in weather patterns across the country at the

:00:13. > :00:17.moment. -- we are seeing. That is changing the dissolution of wet and

:00:18. > :00:21.dry. In recent days warm air has been pumping up from the south,

:00:22. > :00:26.bringing torrential downpours across south-eastern parts of the UK in

:00:27. > :00:29.particular. During Friday we saw most of the cloud across more

:00:30. > :00:34.northern and western areas and here we saw the heaviest downpours,

:00:35. > :00:38.especially across parts of Scotland. We start Saturday with showers, also

:00:39. > :00:41.showers in western areas tended to drift eastwards as we go through the

:00:42. > :00:46.day. Some lively downpours developing. At the same time out

:00:47. > :00:52.West thing start drying up. Wales, western England, some sunshine.

:00:53. > :00:57.Glastonbury touch and go. The heaviest downpours will be further

:00:58. > :01:01.east. Slow-moving, some local parental downpours, but some places

:01:02. > :01:08.avoiding the showers. -- torrential downpours. The heart of Scotland, a

:01:09. > :01:13.spring clean of heavy showers. Cool and grey in the far north-east. Into

:01:14. > :01:17.Sunday we have another weather system coming in across the

:01:18. > :01:21.Atlantic. That will spread in rain across Northern Ireland initially

:01:22. > :01:24.and then into more western parts of Britain. The dry weather will hold

:01:25. > :01:30.on across more central and eastern parts of the UK, well on into the

:01:31. > :01:35.afternoon. So a pleasant Sunday. Temperatures into the low 20s.

:01:36. > :01:38.Cooler in the rain out west. That weather system will spread towards

:01:39. > :01:43.the south-east, bringing showery rain. But it should clear. Then a

:01:44. > :01:49.brighter prospect for many of us on Monday. The start of Wimbledon of

:01:50. > :01:54.course. More on that in a moment. The dry starch doesn't last. Further

:01:55. > :01:59.frontal systems will push in across the Atlantic, bringing in wet

:02:00. > :02:03.weather. -- the dry start. Nobody knew from heavy rain on Tuesday.

:02:04. > :02:09.After a dry start things go downhill. The exact position

:02:10. > :02:12.uncertain, but expect things to go downhill, locally quite windy

:02:13. > :02:17.weather as well. That weather system moves through. A bit of a lull

:02:18. > :02:21.perhaps, but you can see what is just behind me. Another frontal

:02:22. > :02:26.system could push in later in the day. Continuing the unsettled theme.

:02:27. > :02:32.Often cool in the blustery winds. For Wimbledon, not a complete

:02:33. > :02:37.washout. We do expect some rain at some stage. The roof might come in

:02:38. > :02:42.handy. In recent weeks we've had high pressure mostly to the north.

:02:43. > :02:46.Low pressure to the south. A clash of warm and cold air, generating

:02:47. > :02:52.heavy rain, especially in central and eastern parts. Some shelter from

:02:53. > :02:57.the easterly wind. The west of Scotland has benefited, with less

:02:58. > :03:02.rain. If we look back at the stats are early June, while some places

:03:03. > :03:06.have had more than enough rain, for the west of Scotland, especially the

:03:07. > :03:10.Highlands, we had below average rainfall, with a shortage of water.

:03:11. > :03:14.That's all about the change because the weather systems reconfigured

:03:15. > :03:20.themselves. A strong westerly jet stream. Low pressure to the north,

:03:21. > :03:23.high pressure to the south, meaning with a predominance of westerly

:03:24. > :03:29.winds north-western areas will be wettest, south-eastern areas most

:03:30. > :03:30.dry, often blustery and feeling cool as well. In
