0:58:39 > 0:58:42We certainly had a pretty changeable weekend with many places
0:58:42 > 0:58:45seeing some thundery downpours on Saturday.
0:58:45 > 0:58:46Then on Sunday,
0:58:46 > 0:58:49we saw a band of more coherent rain work its way in from the west.
0:58:49 > 0:58:52It remains pretty changeable for the next few days.
0:58:52 > 0:58:55An unsettled week ahead of us with rain at times,
0:58:55 > 0:58:57some of that rain quite heavy and that rain will also be
0:58:57 > 0:59:00accompanied by some fairly brisk winds.
0:59:00 > 0:59:02Not a particularly summery feel to the coming week.
0:59:02 > 0:59:04We see some rain working its way south
0:59:04 > 0:59:07and eastwards across England overnight.
0:59:07 > 0:59:10It might linger first thing in the morning, but it won't last too long.
0:59:10 > 0:59:13It will be out of the way pretty quickly.
0:59:13 > 0:59:15Then for the southern half of the UK, bar the odd shower,
0:59:15 > 0:59:18I think most places will have a dry day with variable cloud
0:59:18 > 0:59:19and some sunshine.
0:59:19 > 0:59:22A bit more in the way of showers as you head further north,
0:59:22 > 0:59:25but still some spells of sunshine in between those showers,
0:59:25 > 0:59:26for eastern side of Scotland.
0:59:26 > 0:59:28There's always a bit more cloud and showers,
0:59:28 > 0:59:31more frequent in the western side Scotland
0:59:31 > 0:59:3415 degrees in Glasgow, 21 or 22 in the London area.
0:59:34 > 0:59:36Looking ahead towards Tuesday -
0:59:36 > 0:59:38We'll keep the winds coming in from the west.
0:59:38 > 0:59:41It's this little area of low pressure which is set to bring some
0:59:41 > 0:59:44rather wet to the south-west of UK the initially.
0:59:44 > 0:59:48Notice a bit of a squeeze in the southern flank of the low.
0:59:48 > 0:59:50We are going to see some pretty brisk winds in the south-west.
0:59:50 > 0:59:54It could be getting pretty close to gale force and windy conditions
0:59:54 > 0:59:57but also quite a bit of rain spreading up through the Irish Sea.
0:59:57 > 0:59:59Some heavy showers breaking out in Scotland, northern England.
0:59:59 > 1:00:02That wetter weather moving its way into the Midlands.
1:00:02 > 1:00:04Notice, East Anglia and the south-east
1:00:04 > 1:00:06stays dry through the early afternoon,
1:00:06 > 1:00:09but it'll be the early evening when the rain works its way through here.
1:00:09 > 1:00:12That first system moves away into the North Sea,
1:00:12 > 1:00:14but hot on its heels, comes the next weather system.
1:00:14 > 1:00:17By this stage, the ground would be pretty wet across the south
1:00:17 > 1:00:19and west and there's more heavy rain.
1:00:19 > 1:00:22So we're going to have to watch those rainfall totals over
1:00:22 > 1:00:24the coming few days.
1:00:24 > 1:00:26It'll be adding up day by day.
1:00:26 > 1:00:29The rain affecting many areas during the day.
1:00:29 > 1:00:31Underneath the cloud, wind and the rain,
1:00:31 > 1:00:33a disappointing feel to things.
1:00:33 > 1:00:35Temperatures are a few degrees lower than you might expect,
1:00:35 > 1:00:37particularly across the northern half of the UK,
1:00:37 > 1:00:40through the middle, towards the latter part of the week.
1:00:40 > 1:00:42With low pressure firmly in charge.
1:00:42 > 1:00:45That low is bringing the air all the way down from Iceland.
1:00:45 > 1:00:47So, Thursday another unsettled day.
1:00:47 > 1:00:49Breezy for all parts,
1:00:49 > 1:00:52further rain across these western areas spreading further east.
1:00:52 > 1:00:54Some eastern area staying driest for longest,
1:00:54 > 1:00:57but I think we will all see some rain during the day on Thursday.
1:00:57 > 1:01:00And again, not feeling all that pleasant in the wind and the rain.
1:01:00 > 1:01:02Something of respite for the southern half of the UK,
1:01:02 > 1:01:04at least, on Friday.
1:01:04 > 1:01:06One or two showers moving through on the breeze,
1:01:06 > 1:01:09but further north and west, in particular, we're
1:01:09 > 1:01:12going to see further showers and some longer spells of rain.
1:01:12 > 1:01:15If you look at the big picture across the North Atlantic
1:01:15 > 1:01:19for the end of the coming week, and into the start of the weekend.
1:01:19 > 1:01:22Perhaps not really going to change too much.
1:01:22 > 1:01:24Low pressure in charge of our weather.
1:01:24 > 1:01:27Further south, this is the Azores.
1:01:27 > 1:01:30This high is on the southern flank,
1:01:30 > 1:01:32on the warm side of the jet stream,
1:01:32 > 1:01:35which snakes its way towards the south of UK.
1:01:35 > 1:01:37We are on the cool side of the low pressure.
1:01:37 > 1:01:40If the jet were to move north, it would bring this high with it
1:01:40 > 1:01:42that would bring more settled and warmer weather.
1:01:42 > 1:01:45But it looks like things aren't going to change too much
1:01:45 > 1:01:47as we get on into the weekend.
1:01:47 > 1:01:49Even on into the early part of July, the pattern remained the same,
1:01:49 > 1:01:52with the jet stream to the south of UK, we stay on the cold
1:01:52 > 1:01:55side of the jet and we've got low pressure in charge of our weather.
1:01:55 > 1:01:58On into early July, we've still got low pressure in charge,
1:01:58 > 1:02:00this iconic look to things.
1:02:00 > 1:02:02It's always going to be wettest in the north-west of the UK,
1:02:02 > 1:02:04a bit drier in the south-east.
1:02:04 > 1:02:07But temperatures remain a little bit disappointing for most of us.
1:02:07 > 1:02:08Goodbye now.
