0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello there. We may will have had a change of month

0:00:05 > 0:00:08but sadly we haven't got a change of weather type.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10There is no sign of any settled summer sunshine and warmth

0:00:10 > 0:00:13to come in this 6 to 10 day forecast.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16Just look at Friday, shower clouds threatening

0:00:16 > 0:00:18across the poppy fields of Lincolnshire.

0:00:18 > 0:00:22There is a disappointing feel with just a maximum of 20 degrees.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25Cast your mind back to 1st July just a year ago,

0:00:25 > 0:00:29we had the hottest July day ever recorded.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31But back to reality this weekend looks likely

0:00:31 > 0:00:33to be a showery and breezy one.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Starting off relatively dry but plenty of showers

0:00:36 > 0:00:41piling in across the country with that stiffening brisk West breeze,

0:00:41 > 0:00:43and so feeling disappointingly cool in the far north,

0:00:43 > 0:00:4815 or 16 degrees, highest values again of around 20 Celsius.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50Now as we push out of Saturday into Sunday,

0:00:50 > 0:00:52there'll be a weather front just drifting through

0:00:52 > 0:00:54the Channel coast, bringing outbreaks of cloud

0:00:54 > 0:00:57and light drizzly rain. Perhaps fewer showers

0:00:57 > 0:01:00further north with the exception of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Here we keep some showers going, but where we've got

0:01:02 > 0:01:06the dryer slots, perhaps temperatures a degree or so up.

0:01:06 > 0:01:10As we move out of Sunday, we've got this trailing weather front,

0:01:10 > 0:01:13which will bring outbreaks of rain for a time

0:01:13 > 0:01:15and that weather front really is going to be the boundary

0:01:15 > 0:01:17between milder air down to the south

0:01:17 > 0:01:20and a somewhat disappointing feel continuing into the north.

0:01:20 > 0:01:24Not just milder but potentially humid air

0:01:24 > 0:01:26is going to be drawn in from the near continent

0:01:26 > 0:01:28from time to time, so in some sunshine

0:01:28 > 0:01:32it's not all doom and gloom, but it always stays

0:01:32 > 0:01:34a little disappointing further north.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36As we move into Monday then,

0:01:36 > 0:01:39So if you get some sunshine and you get that humidity,

0:01:39 > 0:01:42it will feel reasonably pleasant with highs of 22 degrees

0:01:42 > 0:01:45but we'll continue with some sharper showers

0:01:45 > 0:01:48further north and west, 14-16 just the high.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50That weather front continues to sweep its way

0:01:50 > 0:01:52eastwards across the country.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54It will bring some outbreaks of more persistent rain

0:01:54 > 0:01:57for a time to clear from the south-east

0:01:57 > 0:01:59first thing on Tuesday. Once it's done so,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02some of those showers are quite sharp but still highs of 22.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Fewer showers further north and west

0:02:04 > 0:02:07but still those temperatures not budging very far.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10As we move into Wednesday, we'll start off

0:02:10 > 0:02:12with a relatively quieter theme to the day

0:02:12 > 0:02:16before a weather front pushes in from the south and west.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19This weather front continues to trail

0:02:19 > 0:02:21these lows across the northern half

0:02:21 > 0:02:23of the country, which could be the story

0:02:23 > 0:02:25as we move into the longer period.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27With the low pressures always brushing across

0:02:27 > 0:02:30the top, we need this area of high pressure

0:02:30 > 0:02:32down into the south-west. This is the Azores high.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34As that moves through, it will bring us

0:02:34 > 0:02:37some dry, settled weather, but the jet stream

0:02:37 > 0:02:40at the moment is pretty strong, and it's always going

0:02:40 > 0:02:42to be centred to the north of the country

0:02:42 > 0:02:45and drift these low pressures back across the country.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48At times, the high pressure will try to squeeze back in,

0:02:48 > 0:02:51only to be pushed out of the way by the low,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53because the jet stream looks likely to be

0:02:53 > 0:02:57sitting up to the far north-west, this ribbon of fast-moving air,

0:02:57 > 0:02:58high up in the atmosphere

0:02:58 > 0:03:01which drives the low pressures across us.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05If that jet stream is not moving very far very fast,

0:03:05 > 0:03:08the weather story is not changing very far very fast either,

0:03:08 > 0:03:11so further ahead for the 6-10 day period,

0:03:11 > 0:03:14some of us will keep sunshine and showers,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16and a disappointing feel.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18I suspect down to the south there's a greater chance

0:03:18 > 0:03:21of seeing a little more in the way of sunshine,

0:03:21 > 0:03:23and at times it will feel humid and a little warmer,

0:03:23 > 0:03:25but all in all, there's little signs

0:03:25 > 0:03:28of any significant change in the story

0:03:28 > 0:03:29over the next 6-10 day period.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34This is as good as it gets right here -

0:03:34 > 0:03:39open roads, blue skies, one of history's most iconic muscle cars.
