0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello. It's been another unsettled week weather-wise.

0:00:05 > 0:00:06We've had plenty of showers,

0:00:06 > 0:00:09lots of interruptions to play for the first week at Wimbledon.

0:00:09 > 0:00:11But as we have a look through the week ahead,

0:00:11 > 0:00:13things are quietening down somewhat.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16We'll have a little bit more in the way of sunshine,

0:00:16 > 0:00:18less rain around, and temperatures recovering,

0:00:18 > 0:00:21so things will start to feel a little bit warmer for a time

0:00:21 > 0:00:23through the course of the week ahead.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26We start off Monday, plenty of dry and sunny weather

0:00:26 > 0:00:28for much of the UK, particularly in the east.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31You'll notice this area of rain initially across Northern Ireland.

0:00:31 > 0:00:34That will head its way eastwards across southern Scotland,

0:00:34 > 0:00:37northern England and the north-west of Wales during the afternoon.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39To the south of that, 21 degrees.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42After a sunny start, things will cloud over across England and Wales.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45Fresher conditions to the north of that weather front,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47with a mix of sunshine and showers.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Moving through Monday evening and overnight,

0:00:49 > 0:00:52this area of rain gradually drifts off towards the east,

0:00:52 > 0:00:53but it will leave behind it

0:00:53 > 0:00:56a legacy of quite a lot of low cloud, some drizzle,

0:00:56 > 0:00:58and some hill fog to start the day on Tuesday.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00So I think Tuesday, for many of us,

0:01:00 > 0:01:02will dawn on a little bit of a murky note,

0:01:02 > 0:01:04but it will be a rapidly improving weather story.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06As we head through Tuesday,

0:01:06 > 0:01:08that low pressure that brought the rain on Monday

0:01:08 > 0:01:09will push away towards the east,

0:01:09 > 0:01:11and that opens the doors for higher pressure

0:01:11 > 0:01:14to start to move in from the south-west.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16So, during Tuesday, we're still expecting a few showers

0:01:16 > 0:01:19for parts of Scotland, perhaps eastern England, too.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21The showers should ease during the day

0:01:21 > 0:01:23as higher pressure builds from the west.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25And with the light winds, 22 or 23 degrees or so.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Should feel quite pleasant in the south, the mid- to the high teens.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30That little bit fresher further north.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Moving through into the middle part of the week,

0:01:32 > 0:01:35we'll start to see these Atlantic weather systems

0:01:35 > 0:01:37trying to push in towards the north-west,

0:01:37 > 0:01:39but they're bumping into this ridge of high pressure.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42That high pressure brings not only drier conditions,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44but also warmer air and more humid air

0:01:44 > 0:01:46that piles in from the south-west,

0:01:46 > 0:01:50bringing a different feel to the weather than we've seen recently.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53A little bit warmer, a little bit more humid for Wednesday.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Plenty of sunshine on offer.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Rather more cloud in the north-west, a bit breezy.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59There could be the odd spot of rain

0:01:59 > 0:02:01for parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04England and Wales staying dry at around 22 or 23 degrees.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06Heading through into the second half of the week.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09We'll start to see these low-pressure systems

0:02:09 > 0:02:11just nudging these fronts into northern

0:02:11 > 0:02:13and western parts of the UK.

0:02:13 > 0:02:14So I think on Thursday,

0:02:14 > 0:02:17fairly cloudy and breezy for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:02:17 > 0:02:18There could be some spells of rain.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20England and Wales are more likely to stay

0:02:20 > 0:02:22with the drier and brighter weather,

0:02:22 > 0:02:25with temperatures ranging between around 17 to 23 degrees.

0:02:25 > 0:02:29So certainly those temperatures will be on the rise later in the week.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Looking towards the end of the week, on into Friday now.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34Low pressure again trying to move in,

0:02:34 > 0:02:36but once again, it's bumping into that ridge of high pressure

0:02:36 > 0:02:39that holds on across much of the country for Friday.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41Friday's shaping up to be a pretty decent day, then.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44Light winds, sunny spells. 24 or 25 degrees.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46Could be the warmest day of the week.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48And then further ahead,

0:02:48 > 0:02:51so we're now looking at next weekend and beyond.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54We'll start to see the jet stream strengthening from the Atlantic,

0:02:54 > 0:02:56moving its way west to east,

0:02:56 > 0:02:59and that will give a little bit more drive to these weather systems

0:02:59 > 0:03:01that are trying to push in from the Atlantic.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04So it looks like, further ahead in the period,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06we will start to see low-pressure systems in the Atlantic

0:03:06 > 0:03:10moving their way from west to east across much of the country.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13That high pressure just about slipping away

0:03:13 > 0:03:14towards the near constant.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16So after a relatively dry and warm week,

0:03:16 > 0:03:19we are looking at windy, cooler conditions developing,

0:03:19 > 0:03:21with some rain at times.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23But it looks like we'll hold on to the driest and the brightest

0:03:23 > 0:03:26of the conditions towards the south and the south-east.

0:03:26 > 0:03:29We'll update you, once again, here tomorrow. Bye-bye.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35Gregg and Chris are back to help us slash the weekly food bill.

0:03:35 > 0:03:36Let's get to work.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37They'll look at the mistakes we make...
