0:00:02 > 0:00:05We started the week with some pretty hot weather,

0:00:05 > 0:00:0730 degrees in London makes it the hottest day of the year so far.

0:00:07 > 0:00:11But we are going to eclipse that through the day on Tuesday.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13We start off on a very warm,

0:00:13 > 0:00:16humid note with a lot of sunshine and light winds too.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18And with all that sunshine we're going to see those

0:00:18 > 0:00:21temperatures rocketing away into the afternoon.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24It's going to be a very hot afternoon pretty much

0:00:24 > 0:00:25across the board.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28The eastern coast of Scotland might be just a little bit less hot -

0:00:28 > 0:00:3017 or 18 degrees. But move inland, it is low 20s.

0:00:30 > 0:00:33The south-west of Scotland will probably see temperatures

0:00:33 > 0:00:34at 27 or 28 degrees.

0:00:34 > 0:00:3928, 29, 30-odd degrees across parts of northern England.

0:00:39 > 0:00:4231 there in Leeds. Similar temperatures in London.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44So the heat is really quite widespread.

0:00:44 > 0:00:47Some parts of the Midlands will see the highest temperatures -

0:00:47 > 0:00:4834, maybe even 35 degrees.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51So a sweltering afternoon for many.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54The south coast and the south-west of England not quite so hot,

0:00:54 > 0:00:57but the north coast not far from 30 Celsius and we'll probably

0:00:57 > 0:00:59see 30 degrees in the south of Wales

0:00:59 > 0:01:01even the west of Wales around about 30 Celsius mark.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03As we head up towards Northern Ireland,

0:01:03 > 0:01:06here it is more like the middle to upper 20s, but notice

0:01:06 > 0:01:08a few showers just creeping in

0:01:08 > 0:01:10towards the west through the afternoon.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12Those will become quite noticeable through the evening,

0:01:12 > 0:01:14some of those will turn heavy and thundery.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Could be some torrential downpours moving up into Scotland and

0:01:17 > 0:01:20the north-west of England by dawn on Wednesday.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23By which stage, again, it is a very warm start the day.

0:01:23 > 0:01:2518 degrees in Glasgow to start the day,

0:01:25 > 0:01:2722 also for Manchester and London.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29So as we go through the day on Wednesday,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32we've already started to see those thunderstorms developing.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35They start to become quite widespread across many

0:01:35 > 0:01:37northern and western parts of the UK.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39There could be some torrential downpours for some.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42Certainly not for all, I think East Anglia and south-east,

0:01:42 > 0:01:43will probably stay dry.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45Notice the winds are coming in from the west.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48We are going to see those temperatures dropping back

0:01:48 > 0:01:49down to something nearer the norm.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52But in East Anglia and the south-east, where it stays dry with

0:01:52 > 0:01:55some sunshine, still some heat to be had, 28 or 29 degrees.

0:01:55 > 0:01:56But that is not going to last

0:01:56 > 0:01:59because Wednesday night into Thursday,

0:01:59 > 0:02:01we see this cold front sweep its way across the

0:02:01 > 0:02:04south and the east and this temporary ridge of high pressure

0:02:04 > 0:02:07builds and we start to see the winds now coming in from the Atlantic.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10By Thursday, not a complete washout by any means.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13There is a lot of dry weather to be had, variable cloud.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Some sunshine, but some showers gathering out towards the west.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Temperatures back down to something nearer the norm

0:02:19 > 0:02:22pretty much across the board. It's the upper teens or low 20s.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26So a cooler, fresher feel by Thursday and that fresher weather

0:02:26 > 0:02:29continues to come in from the Atlantic for the end of the week,

0:02:29 > 0:02:30with the weather front.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33So that is going to bring some rain to the north and west of the UK.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37Ahead of that - sunny spells and a scattering of showers.

0:02:37 > 0:02:41At this stage, the temperatures are upper teens or low to mid 20s.

0:02:41 > 0:02:42Then onto into the weekend,

0:02:42 > 0:02:45we keep the weather coming in from the Atlantic.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47The first weather system moves away.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50A ridge temporarily builds in for Saturday just ahead of the

0:02:50 > 0:02:53next weather system which will bring some wind and rain later

0:02:53 > 0:02:54into Northern Ireland,

0:02:54 > 0:02:57but many other places enjoying a pretty reasonable day on Saturday.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00Sunny spells and not particularly windy and temperatures

0:03:00 > 0:03:02peaking at around about 23 or 24 degrees.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06So a much more changeable look to things into the start of next

0:03:06 > 0:03:09weekend and that continues into the second part of the weekend

0:03:09 > 0:03:11and on into the early part of next week.

0:03:11 > 0:03:15With westerly winds, we are likely to see low-pressure coming into

0:03:15 > 0:03:16the north of UK.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19The closer you are to that, the more likely you are to see some rain.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21But overall, it looks fairly changeable.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25There will be some spells of settled weather with some sunshine. It is still quite warm.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27Some showers are forecast and temperatures, generally

0:03:27 > 0:03:30speaking, a degree or so either side of the average. Bye for now.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35Welcome to the Celebrity MasterChef semifinals.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37You are preparing lunch for 70 people.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39My hands are freezing, I can't feel my fingers.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Whose recipe are you following? My own, in my brain.

0:03:42 > 0:03:46Oh, got it. They're on fire. That's a bit of a disaster. This is hot!

0:03:46 > 0:03:48Amazing, in a kitchen of nine cooks, you could hear a pin drop.
