0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello - for some parts of the UK, the humid weather lasted

0:00:06 > 0:00:08into the start of the weekend.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10On Saturday, temperatures peaked at 29 Celsius

0:00:10 > 0:00:12in Northolt, west London.

0:00:12 > 0:00:1328 degrees here in Cambridge -

0:00:13 > 0:00:15our weather watchers caught the sunshine

0:00:15 > 0:00:18across southern and eastern parts of the UK.

0:00:18 > 0:00:19Different story further north -

0:00:19 > 0:00:22barely 15 degrees across parts of the Hebrides

0:00:22 > 0:00:24and as you can see, we finished the day

0:00:24 > 0:00:26with rather grey, dreich conditions.

0:00:26 > 0:00:28This is the weather front responsible -

0:00:28 > 0:00:30it links back into a little wave

0:00:30 > 0:00:32where we see the rain intensify a touch

0:00:32 > 0:00:34as we go into Sunday and that rain will run

0:00:34 > 0:00:36its way northwards and eastwards.

0:00:36 > 0:00:37That said, many eastern parts of England,

0:00:37 > 0:00:39another fine day in store -

0:00:39 > 0:00:41not as much sunshine around as we saw during Saturday,

0:00:41 > 0:00:43and across western parts of Scotland,

0:00:43 > 0:00:45a slightly brighter day, but rain will push

0:00:45 > 0:00:47from the south-west towards the north-east

0:00:47 > 0:00:48through the day.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50May get towards the east Midlands,

0:00:50 > 0:00:52a fairly showery nature, but East Anglia, south-east

0:00:52 > 0:00:54holding on to humid air at this stage,

0:00:54 > 0:00:57temperatures at best around 26 degrees.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59Further west, a grey afternoon,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01some occasional light and patchy rain,

0:01:01 > 0:01:03heavier bursts will've been earlier on in the day

0:01:03 > 0:01:05and we could see a few heavier bursts

0:01:05 > 0:01:07across northern parts of England,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09edging its way into southern parts of Scotland.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11North-west Highlands of Scotland

0:01:11 > 0:01:12shouldn't fare too bad

0:01:12 > 0:01:14compared with what we saw on Saturday afternoon,

0:01:14 > 0:01:16but some heavy showers and thunderstorms

0:01:16 > 0:01:18work through Northern Ireland -

0:01:18 > 0:01:19during the evening,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21they'll push into Western Scotland.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23Finish the day with some of the wettest weather

0:01:23 > 0:01:24in Western Scotland,

0:01:24 > 0:01:26but further south, dry for most.

0:01:26 > 0:01:27There will be a zone of cloud.

0:01:27 > 0:01:28It's a weak weather front,

0:01:28 > 0:01:30pushing its way eastwards - here it is -

0:01:30 > 0:01:32and that will be sweeping away

0:01:32 > 0:01:34the humid air off into the near continent

0:01:34 > 0:01:36as this area of low pressure develops

0:01:36 > 0:01:37towards the north of Scotland.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39The humid air will be pushed away

0:01:39 > 0:01:41and opening the door to winds off the Atlantic,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43bringing fresher conditions by and large.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46Already got some of that to the west of the UK,

0:01:46 > 0:01:48but it'll be the first time in a while

0:01:48 > 0:01:50we've felt that across parts of eastern England.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53A bright day to come here, with some sunny spells.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55The sunshine a little on the hazy side -

0:01:55 > 0:01:56a bit of high cloud around on Monday.

0:01:56 > 0:01:58A few showers in the west and across Scotland,

0:01:58 > 0:01:59the odd heavier one -

0:01:59 > 0:02:01can't rule out odd rumbles of thunder,

0:02:01 > 0:02:03but dry and brighter weather in-between,

0:02:03 > 0:02:05and first time in a while, just about the whole UK,

0:02:05 > 0:02:07temperatures around where they should be

0:02:07 > 0:02:09for the time of year, if not a little bit below.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12A cool night will follow to take us into Tuesday -

0:02:12 > 0:02:14still got the winds coming off the Atlantic,

0:02:14 > 0:02:17got to watch what's happening towards the west of Ireland.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Whilst eastern areas dry and bright

0:02:19 > 0:02:21with some sunshine, a few showers in the west,

0:02:21 > 0:02:23we start to see low pressure push in

0:02:23 > 0:02:24to Northern Ireland and Scotland.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26It looks like this sort of area at the moment,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28but how quickly that moves across the UK

0:02:28 > 0:02:31and how slightly far north or south it will be,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33we'll have to keep a very close eye on.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35To the south, we'll see the breeziest conditions,

0:02:35 > 0:02:36to take us into Wednesday,

0:02:36 > 0:02:38and even if it's pushed towards the east of us

0:02:38 > 0:02:40by this stage, it'll still leave

0:02:40 > 0:02:42a legacy of cloud and a few showers around

0:02:42 > 0:02:44to take us through Wednesday and we go

0:02:44 > 0:02:46through the middle of the week as we start the week,

0:02:46 > 0:02:48with temperatures high teens to low 20s.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50A quiet spell, then, through the night

0:02:50 > 0:02:52and into the start of Thursday,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54but by the end of Thursday,

0:02:54 > 0:02:55this area of low pressure

0:02:55 > 0:02:58will start to have more of a bearing across the UK.

0:02:58 > 0:02:59This time of year tends to bring in

0:02:59 > 0:03:02showery bursts of rain more than anything else

0:03:02 > 0:03:03and that area of low pressure,

0:03:03 > 0:03:05through Friday, will work across the UK,

0:03:05 > 0:03:07rain possible just about anywhere.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09Brighter spells in-between,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11but into the weekend, it should be to the east,

0:03:11 > 0:03:13high pressure to the south-west, but with that sort of set-up,

0:03:13 > 0:03:16we'll be dragging our air down from the north-west,

0:03:16 > 0:03:19so we're not going to go back to that hot and humid weather

0:03:19 > 0:03:22we've had of late and feeling quite cool in the breeze

0:03:22 > 0:03:24across northern and western parts of the UK, it looks like,

0:03:24 > 0:03:27into next weekend and the start of next week,

0:03:27 > 0:03:30with sunshine and showers generally the name of the game.

0:03:30 > 0:03:31See you tomorrow.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35The England Men's and the England Women's cricket teams

0:03:35 > 0:03:36are both in action this summer.
