0:00:02 > 0:00:03Hello. Fed up with that cool breeze?

0:00:03 > 0:00:05Well, if you are a fan of warm weather,

0:00:05 > 0:00:06I may have a treat for you,

0:00:06 > 0:00:09because although it wasn't on the menu a few days ago,

0:00:09 > 0:00:10it now does look as if we are

0:00:10 > 0:00:12going to get some really warm air

0:00:12 > 0:00:14pumping up towards us

0:00:14 > 0:00:16come the early part of next week.

0:00:16 > 0:00:17That's a complete transformation

0:00:17 > 0:00:19from what we have got at the moment

0:00:19 > 0:00:21- cool north-westerly winds,

0:00:21 > 0:00:24and certainly there is a nip in that breeze.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26We start Tuesday with temperatures

0:00:26 > 0:00:28well down, widely in single figures,

0:00:28 > 0:00:30as low as three or four degrees

0:00:30 > 0:00:32across the glens of Scotland.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34Chilly start, but some sunshine

0:00:34 > 0:00:35should soon warm things up.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37There will be some blue sky

0:00:37 > 0:00:38and sunshine through the morning,

0:00:38 > 0:00:40but already some showers across

0:00:40 > 0:00:42parts of northern England, and in general,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44the showers will turn more widespread across

0:00:44 > 0:00:45northern parts of the UK.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47Best of the brightness further south.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50Now, the focus of the showers by mid-afternoon -

0:00:50 > 0:00:51this is four o'clock -

0:00:51 > 0:00:53will be from parts of south-west Scotland across

0:00:53 > 0:00:55the borders into parts of north-east England.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57Fairly frequent and sharp showers here,

0:00:57 > 0:00:59serving to keep those temperatures down,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01so mid-teens - disappointing.

0:01:01 > 0:01:02Further south, it will be drier,

0:01:02 > 0:01:04brighter, some sunshine,

0:01:04 > 0:01:05particularly for parts of

0:01:05 > 0:01:07South Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09and certainly southern counties.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Up into the low 20s in places, and in general,

0:01:11 > 0:01:13the winds won't be as blustery

0:01:13 > 0:01:14as they were on Monday.

0:01:14 > 0:01:15Looking further ahead then,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17Tuesday night into Wednesday,

0:01:17 > 0:01:18we have got this whole string of

0:01:18 > 0:01:19weather fronts coming down

0:01:19 > 0:01:20from the north-west

0:01:20 > 0:01:22and across the country,

0:01:22 > 0:01:23so there will be a fair bit of cloud

0:01:23 > 0:01:26around on Wednesday, particularly out west,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28with some sporadic outbreaks of rain

0:01:28 > 0:01:30drifting southwards on the breeze.

0:01:30 > 0:01:31The best of any brightness across

0:01:31 > 0:01:33eastern parts of the country,

0:01:33 > 0:01:34but in general, with a lot of cloud

0:01:34 > 0:01:36in the sky after a chilly start,

0:01:36 > 0:01:38temperatures are going to struggle.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Quite a cool-feeling day, mid to high teens,

0:01:40 > 0:01:42possibly the low 20s, and the best

0:01:42 > 0:01:44of the sunshine across the south-east.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46Fast forward to Thursday

0:01:46 > 0:01:47and another set of fronts,

0:01:47 > 0:01:50this time targeting the north-west of the UK,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52particularly in the west of Scotland.

0:01:52 > 0:01:53We could see quite a lot

0:01:53 > 0:01:55of rain through Thursday and into Friday,

0:01:55 > 0:01:57we will have to keep an eye on that.

0:01:57 > 0:01:58Pretty wet and windy here.

0:01:58 > 0:01:59By and large, the further south

0:01:59 > 0:02:01we go, it will be drier, brighter, warmer too.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03The first hints of that warmth

0:02:03 > 0:02:04developing actually across

0:02:04 > 0:02:07some southern counties, possibly up into

0:02:07 > 0:02:09the low, maybe mid, twenties.

0:02:09 > 0:02:10Friday, that rain is still there,

0:02:10 > 0:02:12pummeling the west of Scotland.

0:02:12 > 0:02:13As I say, will have to keep an eye

0:02:13 > 0:02:15on that, quite a lot of rain.

0:02:15 > 0:02:16Once more, it will be drier,

0:02:16 > 0:02:17brighter and warmer

0:02:17 > 0:02:19the further south and east we go.

0:02:19 > 0:02:2124, possibly 25 degrees.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24This weather front, this cold front,

0:02:24 > 0:02:26tries to stagger its way south-eastwards

0:02:26 > 0:02:28as we hit the weekend, but it's a weakening feature.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Just a band of cloud and little more

0:02:30 > 0:02:32then just the odd spot of rain.

0:02:32 > 0:02:33On either side of that,

0:02:33 > 0:02:35plenty of dry weather to start

0:02:35 > 0:02:36the weekend, and again,

0:02:36 > 0:02:38the only sunshine across the south-east.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41It will feel pretty warm, a bit fresher behind that

0:02:41 > 0:02:43weather front across the north and west,

0:02:43 > 0:02:44but the winds will be fairly light.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46That weather front really dying a death,

0:02:46 > 0:02:48not much on it,

0:02:48 > 0:02:49and the reason for that is because

0:02:49 > 0:02:52it is kind of detached from the jet stream.

0:02:52 > 0:02:53The jet stream looks like

0:02:53 > 0:02:55pushing back northwards

0:02:55 > 0:02:56to the north of the UK,

0:02:56 > 0:02:57and that is going to

0:02:57 > 0:02:59cause that significant change

0:02:59 > 0:03:01in weather as we go to the early part

0:03:01 > 0:03:03of next week, because, as we get a dome

0:03:03 > 0:03:04in the jet stream,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06we're going to start to

0:03:06 > 0:03:07draw in those warm

0:03:07 > 0:03:09or even hot south-easterly winds.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11And there is every chance

0:03:11 > 0:03:12that some places

0:03:12 > 0:03:14by the early part of next week

0:03:14 > 0:03:16could be hitting 30 degrees -

0:03:16 > 0:03:18too hot for some, I know.

0:03:18 > 0:03:19So the message is,

0:03:19 > 0:03:21a hot spell, albeit brief perhaps,

0:03:21 > 0:03:23thunderstorms increasingly likely

0:03:23 > 0:03:25and it could turn cooler

0:03:25 > 0:03:26again by the end of the week.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Watch this space,

0:03:28 > 0:03:29I will update you again tomorrow.
