0:00:02 > 0:00:06Hello. We'll get onto the weather here in the UK, but first of all,
0:00:06 > 0:00:09we're going to start off on the other side of the Atlantic.
0:00:09 > 0:00:11We have tropical storm Hermine.
0:00:11 > 0:00:12It's in the Gulf of Mexico,
0:00:12 > 0:00:16but it's making steady progress towards the north-west of Florida,
0:00:16 > 0:00:19it may achieve hurricane status before it makes landfall.
0:00:19 > 0:00:21If it does so, it'll be the first hurricane to hit Florida
0:00:21 > 0:00:23in 11 years.
0:00:23 > 0:00:26Either way, we're going to see a storm surge around the coast
0:00:26 > 0:00:28and there's going to be some flooding rain and some very
0:00:28 > 0:00:30strong winds moving their way across the heavily populated
0:00:30 > 0:00:33south-eastern corner of the United States.
0:00:33 > 0:00:36That is one to watch over the next few days.
0:00:36 > 0:00:39Much quieter back on our shores to end the week.
0:00:39 > 0:00:42We've got this weather front slipping its way slowly southwards
0:00:42 > 0:00:44and eastwards, bringing a lot of cloud,
0:00:44 > 0:00:47not a great deal of rain, but there will be some to go with that.
0:00:47 > 0:00:48Maybe some low cloud around
0:00:48 > 0:00:50the coasts and the hills in the south-west.
0:00:50 > 0:00:53Bit of rain drifts its way to East Anglia and the south-east,
0:00:53 > 0:00:56but through the afternoon, that rain becomes very light and patchy
0:00:56 > 0:00:57and it starts to brighten up in Wales.
0:00:57 > 0:01:00Much of northern England doing well in the afternoon.
0:01:00 > 0:01:02Sunny spells and showers in Northern Ireland and Scotland,
0:01:02 > 0:01:05those showers coming in on the breeze from the west.
0:01:05 > 0:01:0619 degrees in Aberdeen, not so bad.
0:01:06 > 0:01:09Might get 20 or 21 in the London area.
0:01:09 > 0:01:12Through Friday evening, it's dry for most places.
0:01:12 > 0:01:15There'll still be a few showers dotted around in the north
0:01:15 > 0:01:17and west of the UK, but towards the end of the night, we look
0:01:17 > 0:01:21towards the south-west for the next batch of rain to spread our way.
0:01:21 > 0:01:24Saturday looks like the wettest of the two days of the weekend.
0:01:24 > 0:01:26Sunday looks like a vast improvement.
0:01:26 > 0:01:30Saturday's rain - question marks about the northern extent of it.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32But, it looks like it will be coming into the
0:01:32 > 0:01:35south-west on a bit of a breeze quite early on Saturday morning.
0:01:35 > 0:01:38Then it makes pretty steady progress across much of the rest of
0:01:38 > 0:01:41England and Wales through the afternoon and on into the evening.
0:01:41 > 0:01:43Some of that rain could be quite heavy and the breeze will be
0:01:43 > 0:01:45quite noticeable towards the south-west, in particular.
0:01:45 > 0:01:47Further north, sunny spells and a scattering of showers, although
0:01:47 > 0:01:51there might be some wetter weather at times in Northern Ireland.
0:01:51 > 0:01:53But that wet weather moves ever eastwards Saturday night,
0:01:53 > 0:01:55so that by Sunday, actually,
0:01:55 > 0:01:58many places are enjoying a vastly improved day with sunny spells,
0:01:58 > 0:01:59one or two showers dotted around,
0:01:59 > 0:02:01but a lot of dry and bright weather to be had.
0:02:01 > 0:02:0318 degrees in Glasgow and Belfast.
0:02:03 > 0:02:07Highs of 21 and 22 in the south-eastern corner.
0:02:07 > 0:02:09Then in the early part of the new week,
0:02:09 > 0:02:11we've got this big low to the north-west of us.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14Its weather fronts will be pushing their way into the north
0:02:14 > 0:02:16and west of the UK with a bit of a breeze.
0:02:16 > 0:02:19A noticeable breeze for Scotland and Northern Ireland, in particular,
0:02:19 > 0:02:21with some cloud and outbreaks of rain.
0:02:21 > 0:02:23But most of England and Wales have a reasonable day
0:02:23 > 0:02:25with the brightest conditions the further east you are.
0:02:25 > 0:02:28Quite warm as well - 18 degrees in Glasgow, 22 or 23 in London.
0:02:28 > 0:02:30Now, through Tuesday,
0:02:30 > 0:02:33the big picture sees an area of low pressure to the west of us,
0:02:33 > 0:02:37high pressure to the east, and, yes, we've still got the resultant
0:02:37 > 0:02:39southerly wind blowing up across the UK.
0:02:39 > 0:02:42So that's good news because it's going to keep those temperatures
0:02:42 > 0:02:45quite respectable as we get on into the middle part of next week.
0:02:45 > 0:02:48We don't see a huge change in the pressure pattern,
0:02:48 > 0:02:51we've still got that high to the east of the UK
0:02:51 > 0:02:53and this low towards the north and west.
0:02:53 > 0:02:55You can just see those orange tones spreading their way ever
0:02:55 > 0:02:57northwards across the north of Scotland.
0:02:57 > 0:03:00So we'll all be seeing some pretty reasonable temperatures.
0:03:00 > 0:03:01But later on next week,
0:03:01 > 0:03:04both of our weather systems drift a little bit further northwards.
0:03:04 > 0:03:06The closer you are to that low in the north-west,
0:03:06 > 0:03:07you might see a bit of rain.
0:03:07 > 0:03:10But the majority will just see some fine and settled weather, the high
0:03:10 > 0:03:13really dominating, and it's still dragging in that southerly breeze.
0:03:13 > 0:03:15So with the high dominating,
0:03:15 > 0:03:18a lot of settled weather into the latter part of next week,
0:03:18 > 0:03:20and quite warm as well with that southerly breeze and very
0:03:20 > 0:03:22little rain to speak of,
0:03:22 > 0:03:25unless you're in the far north-west close to that low,
0:03:25 > 0:03:28but most of us are looking at a lot of dry and quite warm weather.
0:03:33 > 0:03:36I told you, I don't need any help. And I told you, you've got it.
0:03:36 > 0:03:38Leopard changed its spots, has it?
0:03:38 > 0:03:39Come on, then!
0:03:39 > 0:03:40Grant, what you doing?!
0:03:40 > 0:03:41Phil!
0:03:41 > 0:03:43Bring my boy back.
0:03:43 > 0:03:44Please.
