0:00:04 > 0:00:07Hello. If you were watching the news, you may have seen pictures
0:00:07 > 0:00:08from the United States
0:00:08 > 0:00:10of widespread flooding in Florida
0:00:10 > 0:00:11because of what was
0:00:11 > 0:00:12once a hurricane,
0:00:12 > 0:00:14now been downgraded to
0:00:14 > 0:00:15a tropical storm - Hermine.
0:00:15 > 0:00:17You can see this huge swirl of rain.
0:00:17 > 0:00:18Bright colours indicate
0:00:18 > 0:00:20the heavy downpours.
0:00:20 > 0:00:22Some places saw 6, 7 inches of rain,
0:00:22 > 0:00:23and widespread flooding
0:00:23 > 0:00:25is the result.
0:00:25 > 0:00:27That's pretty much what we've seen.
0:00:27 > 0:00:29As we head back to our shores,
0:00:29 > 0:00:31you can see quite a lot of cloud in the Atlantic,
0:00:31 > 0:00:33and all of this is heading our way
0:00:33 > 0:00:35for the start of the weekend.
0:00:35 > 0:00:37It's a series of weather fronts,
0:00:37 > 0:00:39which will spread rain in from the west,
0:00:39 > 0:00:42and the isobars are quite tightly packed,
0:00:42 > 0:00:44so we are going to see quite windy conditions
0:00:44 > 0:00:46across the south and west.
0:00:46 > 0:00:49It will be a pretty breezy day for all.
0:00:49 > 0:00:52Not such a bad start for central and eastern areas.
0:00:52 > 0:00:53Make the most of that,
0:00:53 > 0:00:55because all this rain out west
0:00:55 > 0:00:58will spread its way to most places during the day.
0:00:58 > 0:01:01By the afternoon, windy in the south and west,
0:01:01 > 0:01:03gusts getting up to 40, 45mph.
0:01:03 > 0:01:04Be aware of that.
0:01:04 > 0:01:06Not a great feel to things -
0:01:06 > 0:01:08Glasgow, Newcastle, Belfast - 15 degrees,
0:01:08 > 0:01:1121, 22, if you're lucky, in the southeast.
0:01:11 > 0:01:12Another pulse of rain
0:01:12 > 0:01:15through the evening.
0:01:15 > 0:01:16That clears away,
0:01:16 > 0:01:18however this curl of rain
0:01:18 > 0:01:20back into the eastern side of Scotland
0:01:20 > 0:01:22may stick around into early Sunday.
0:01:22 > 0:01:24But overall, on Sunday,
0:01:24 > 0:01:25it's a much better picture.
0:01:25 > 0:01:28We have this ridge of high pressure
0:01:28 > 0:01:30building in. It'll settle things down
0:01:30 > 0:01:31across western areas,
0:01:31 > 0:01:34but we will see showers, mainly in Scotland
0:01:34 > 0:01:35and northern England,
0:01:35 > 0:01:38but there will be spells of sunshine.
0:01:38 > 0:01:40The further south and west you go -
0:01:40 > 0:01:42light winds, sunny spells.
0:01:42 > 0:01:4418 or 19 degrees for Glasgow and Belfast,
0:01:44 > 0:01:47temperatures peaking in the southeast
0:01:47 > 0:01:48at 22 or 23 degrees.
0:01:48 > 0:01:51But as you get into next week,
0:01:51 > 0:01:52we'll do a lot better than that
0:01:52 > 0:01:55because it is going to warm up.
0:01:55 > 0:01:58For many, it will feel like a high summer
0:01:58 > 0:02:00but maybe not so on Monday
0:02:00 > 0:02:03in Northern Ireland and west of Scotland.
0:02:03 > 0:02:05It'll be breezy and cloudy,
0:02:05 > 0:02:07but the breeze coming in from the south.
0:02:07 > 0:02:10Most of England and Wales having a reasonable day -
0:02:10 > 0:02:13temperatures in the low 20s quite widely,
0:02:13 > 0:02:15the upper teens further north,
0:02:15 > 0:02:18still only 15 degrees in northeast Scotland.
0:02:18 > 0:02:21By Tuesday, we'll see rain on this weather front
0:02:21 > 0:02:23draped across more northern parts,
0:02:23 > 0:02:27Northern Ireland and southern Scotland in particular,
0:02:27 > 0:02:30but for England and Wales a lot of dry and bright weather,
0:02:30 > 0:02:32the breeze coming in from the southeast,
0:02:32 > 0:02:35so the low to middle 20s quite widely.
0:02:35 > 0:02:38Even northern Scotland will see the low 20s.
0:02:38 > 0:02:41Temperatures will continue to rise into Wednesday.
0:02:41 > 0:02:44Low pressure to the west, high pressure to the east,
0:02:44 > 0:02:47and winds continue to come up from the south.
0:02:47 > 0:02:50Into the latter part of next week,
0:02:50 > 0:02:51we've still got
0:02:51 > 0:02:52low pressure to the west
0:02:52 > 0:02:55and high pressure to the east.
0:02:55 > 0:02:56It may move further north,
0:02:56 > 0:02:58and if you're close to this low,
0:02:58 > 0:03:00you may see some strong winds
0:03:00 > 0:03:01and some rain but, overall,
0:03:01 > 0:03:03even on into the next weekend,
0:03:03 > 0:03:05we're still pulling in the air
0:03:05 > 0:03:07from a long way south,
0:03:07 > 0:03:08so we can expect those
0:03:08 > 0:03:10high temperatures to linger
0:03:10 > 0:03:12well on into next week.
0:03:12 > 0:03:13By the middle of next week,
0:03:13 > 0:03:16we'll probably see 25, 26 degrees quite widely.
0:03:16 > 0:03:18So, on into next weekend,
0:03:18 > 0:03:21we'll see the southerly breeze bringing much warmer conditions
0:03:21 > 0:03:23to pretty much all parts of the UK
0:03:23 > 0:03:25and with high pressure the dominant force,
0:03:25 > 0:03:27we are generally settled,
0:03:27 > 0:03:30with a lot of dry weather for most of us. Bye for now.
0:03:32 > 0:03:33Need a medic.
0:03:33 > 0:03:35# We are weightless... #
0:03:35 > 0:03:37Humanitarian mission.
0:03:37 > 0:03:38# We are invincible... #
0:03:38 > 0:03:39On the Somali border.
