0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello. We're going to start with a look at the weather in

0:00:05 > 0:00:07the United States, because we saw what was Hurricane Hermine

0:00:07 > 0:00:09make its way across northern Florida.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12It's covered a large area, and it's expected to move out

0:00:12 > 0:00:14into the Atlantic through the second part of the weekend.

0:00:14 > 0:00:18It's a tropical storm now, but it may well reinvigorate itself

0:00:18 > 0:00:20over the warm waters of the North Atlantic, and it may

0:00:20 > 0:00:23even curve back towards the north-east of the United States.

0:00:23 > 0:00:27So that certainly is one to watch over the next few days.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Meanwhile, back on our shores,

0:00:29 > 0:00:31it was a pretty miserable start to the weekend,

0:00:31 > 0:00:33with some heavy rain for many,

0:00:33 > 0:00:35but thankfully that weather system is moving ever southwards

0:00:35 > 0:00:39and eastwards, and the second part of the weekend looks a lot better.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41We've got this ridge of high pressure which will be dominant

0:00:41 > 0:00:44for our weather, so some dry weather for many

0:00:44 > 0:00:47but not a completely dry second part to the weekend.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49We've still got that low in the North Sea on Sunday,

0:00:49 > 0:00:52and there's a bit of a breeze around that and outbreaks of

0:00:52 > 0:00:54rain becoming light and patchy before some showers

0:00:54 > 0:00:57get going across northern and eastern areas into the afternoon.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00Even here there'll be spells of sunshine between those showers.

0:01:00 > 0:01:01The further south and west you go,

0:01:01 > 0:01:03for the most part it's a largely dry afternoon,

0:01:03 > 0:01:0618 or so degrees in Belfast, 19 in Cardiff,

0:01:06 > 0:01:0921 or 22 degrees in the south-eastern corner.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Through the evening, those showers in the north and the east fade away,

0:01:12 > 0:01:15and then we look out west for the next weather system to head

0:01:15 > 0:01:17our way, and that's going to bring some rain and

0:01:17 > 0:01:20a bit of a breeze, as well. It's down to this weather system.

0:01:20 > 0:01:24And as you can see, a fair number of isobars on the chart, so, yes,

0:01:24 > 0:01:28another spell of wind and rain from the Atlantic to start the new week.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30That rain is trying to push its way eastwards,

0:01:30 > 0:01:33but I suspect much of eastern England will stay essentially

0:01:33 > 0:01:34dry for much of the day.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Elsewhere, the rain becomes very light and patchy,

0:01:37 > 0:01:40but it could well be quite a grey day, quite a lot of cloud sitting

0:01:40 > 0:01:42down on the hills, particularly across these western areas,

0:01:42 > 0:01:46but also increasingly humid through the day on Monday,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49high teens or the low 20s quite widely.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52And that's really the headline for the coming week, that temperatures

0:01:52 > 0:01:56are on the rise, and we are going to see temperatures getting

0:01:56 > 0:01:59widely into the low to middle, possibly even the upper 20s.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01It may well be a slow start on Tuesday,

0:02:01 > 0:02:04with some patches of mist, fog and low cloud,

0:02:04 > 0:02:07but a lot of that will disappear, and then into the afternoon most

0:02:07 > 0:02:10places are fine and dry and quite warm,

0:02:10 > 0:02:11even 20 degrees into the north of Scotland.

0:02:11 > 0:02:15A little rain to be had in Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17That's from this weather front, working its way north

0:02:17 > 0:02:19through the middle of the week.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21We've got a low to the west of us, a high to the east,

0:02:21 > 0:02:24and the resultant wind is a southerly breeze,

0:02:24 > 0:02:27and that's bringing in that very warm air from the near Continent.

0:02:27 > 0:02:29Again on Wednesday, it might be a slow start for some,

0:02:29 > 0:02:31with some mist and low cloud, but come the afternoon,

0:02:31 > 0:02:35it's patchy cloud, sunny spells, and the warmth will be really

0:02:35 > 0:02:37quite widespread, 25 degrees in the London area,

0:02:37 > 0:02:39and feeling quite humid, as well.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41Now, as we get on into Thursday,

0:02:41 > 0:02:44this weather front will bring a little bit of rain with it as

0:02:44 > 0:02:47it crosses the UK but it will also begin to drop that humidity,

0:02:47 > 0:02:48at least temporarily.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51But later on in the week, we are looking at

0:02:51 > 0:02:54a low to the north and west of us, a high to the east of us.

0:02:54 > 0:02:55As they drift their way northwards,

0:02:55 > 0:02:59in closer proximity to that low in the north-west of the UK,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01we'll see more of a breeze, maybe some rain at times,

0:03:01 > 0:03:04but the resultant wind is still a southerly breeze,

0:03:04 > 0:03:08and that's going to take us on into the weekend and beyond, as well.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11So we are expecting to see some pretty high temperatures,

0:03:11 > 0:03:12particularly in the south and the east,

0:03:12 > 0:03:15but I suspect it'll be quite warm for most of us.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18So as we end next week and look into the weekend as well,

0:03:18 > 0:03:21we keep the southerly breeze. It's going to stay warm.

0:03:21 > 0:03:22The warmth will be quite widespread.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Away from that low in the north-west of the United Kingdom,

0:03:25 > 0:03:26elsewhere most of us are looking at

0:03:26 > 0:03:28a lot of fine and dry weather. Bye for now.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33It's carnival time here for Great Britain!

0:03:36 > 0:03:37He's there!

0:03:37 > 0:03:40He really is one of the greatest of all time.

0:03:41 > 0:03:43What a summer.
