0:00:01 > 0:00:04Hello there. We may well be in meteorological autumn,

0:00:04 > 0:00:07but we've got some pretty summery weather on the cards through

0:00:07 > 0:00:08much of the week ahead.

0:00:08 > 0:00:12Temperatures are set to rise, so things will warm up for many of us.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15It's going to be quite a humid and a sticky start to the week,

0:00:15 > 0:00:18but we'll see plenty of sunshine particularly towards the

0:00:18 > 0:00:22south and east, a hint of a bit more rain in the north and the west.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25But this is how we start things off on Tuesday.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27High pressure sitting across continental Europe.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30A weak front draped across northern parts of the country.

0:00:30 > 0:00:33So a little light rain on that front across parts

0:00:33 > 0:00:35of Northern Ireland and southern Scotland.

0:00:35 > 0:00:36To the north of that,

0:00:36 > 0:00:39slightly fresher with some sunshine for northern parts of Scotland.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41But for the bulk of England and Wales,

0:00:41 > 0:00:44it's quite humid and cloudy after a misty, murky start.

0:00:44 > 0:00:47The cloud should thin and break and by the afternoon in any of

0:00:47 > 0:00:50the sunny spells, temperatures will reach the mid-20s,

0:00:50 > 0:00:53possibly 25 or even 26 degrees towards parts of the south-east.

0:00:53 > 0:00:56That theme continues on into the middle of the week.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59So we've got this area of high pressure dominating our weather

0:00:59 > 0:01:01and that is going to be drawing in winds

0:01:01 > 0:01:03coming in from a southerly direction.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06So our air coming up from North Africa and from Spain too.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08It will be drier air compared to what we're seeing over

0:01:08 > 0:01:10the next day or so,

0:01:10 > 0:01:13so that means through the middle of the week, by Wednesday,

0:01:13 > 0:01:17less in the way of mist and fog and a bit more in the way of sunshine.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21The cloud should break up a little bit more readily with the influence

0:01:21 > 0:01:24of that drier air and slightly less humid conditions on the cards too.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28So it's dry almost across the board on Wednesday and warm too.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Temperatures between around 20 to 26 or even 27 degrees.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34Certainly a warm day to come on Wednesday,

0:01:34 > 0:01:35that's the peak of the heat.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38By the time we get to Thursday, things are feeling slightly fresher.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41So the breeze picking up from the south or south-west and you can see

0:01:41 > 0:01:44some rain moving into some northern and western parts of the country.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47So potentially, some showery rain for parts of Scotland,

0:01:47 > 0:01:48Northern Ireland too.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50I think much of England and Wales probably staying dry

0:01:50 > 0:01:52once again on Thursday.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55And in any of the brighter spells, 23 degrees or so.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Friday - fresher still and there'll be

0:01:57 > 0:02:00a bit of a breeze for some western areas with one or two showers here.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02I think towards the east, most places staying dry,

0:02:02 > 0:02:05less of a breeze, a bit more in the way of sunshine.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07All in all, it's not looking like a bad day.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Not quite as warm as the middle part of the week, but still

0:02:09 > 0:02:13those temperatures between 17 to 22 degrees.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15Then as we look ahead towards the weekend,

0:02:15 > 0:02:18what we are going to see is an area of low pressure trying to move in

0:02:18 > 0:02:20from the Atlantic, some quite tight isobars.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23A blustery spell of weather perhaps on Saturday, but this frontal

0:02:23 > 0:02:26system will bump into that large area of high pressure across Europe.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29So some uncertainty by the time we get to Saturday.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31It looks like there'll be a band of rain crossing

0:02:31 > 0:02:33from west towards the east.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37But it may well fizzle out before it reaches southern and eastern areas.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40Fresher air behind that frontal system, still relatively warm

0:02:40 > 0:02:42in the south and east.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44So during the weekend and beyond into next week,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47it looks like low pressure will sit to the north-west drawing in

0:02:47 > 0:02:50a cooler influence towards parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54High pressure across the continent still drawing in that feed of

0:02:54 > 0:02:58fairly warm and dry air towards many southern and eastern areas.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00So through the weekend and into the following week,

0:03:00 > 0:03:03we'll have a bit of a north-west, south-east split to the weather.

0:03:03 > 0:03:06Southern and eastern areas having the best of the dry weather

0:03:06 > 0:03:07with some warm sunshine,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10whereas for the north-west, the chances at times that

0:03:10 > 0:03:12we could see a bit more in the way

0:03:12 > 0:03:14of rain and blustery, breezy conditions.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16So to summarise, your outlook over the next ten days so,

0:03:16 > 0:03:19it will be warming up certainly for a time.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21There will be a little bit of rain mainly towards the north

0:03:21 > 0:03:24and the west with the best of the dry weather and plenty

0:03:24 > 0:03:26of sunshine in the south and east.

0:03:26 > 0:03:30Nick Miller will update you on the latest tomorrow. Bye-bye.
