0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello there. September started off on a relatively warm and dry note,

0:00:05 > 0:00:09but things are starting to feel a bit more autumnal out there.

0:00:09 > 0:00:11Looking unsettled over the next couple of days,

0:00:11 > 0:00:15before some of us see a return to summery warmth through next week.

0:00:15 > 0:00:17On Saturday, a weather front is affecting

0:00:17 > 0:00:20central and southeastern parts of England.

0:00:20 > 0:00:24Cloudy here, on and off outbreaks of drizzly rain, anywhere from around

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Dorset up towards Lincolnshire and to the southeast of that.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29Quite breezy here too, and mild underneath the cloud and rain,

0:00:29 > 0:00:3120 degrees or so.

0:00:31 > 0:00:34Elsewhere, across the country, lots of dry weather, lighter winds,

0:00:34 > 0:00:38temperatures around 18 degrees, just a few showers in the northwest.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41Not a bad day, on reflection, across many parts of the country,

0:00:41 > 0:00:43but we'll keep the cloud and rain in the southeast

0:00:43 > 0:00:45right on into the evening hours.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47Most places looking dry overnight,

0:00:47 > 0:00:50away from the far northwest with some blustery showers.

0:00:50 > 0:00:51Under those clear skies,

0:00:51 > 0:00:54it will be a much fresher night than we've seen recently.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57In rural areas, temperatures down to single figures.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00So quite a fresh start to the day on Sunday,

0:01:00 > 0:01:02mist patches on the cards first thing too.

0:01:02 > 0:01:03They should clear away,

0:01:03 > 0:01:06and we're more confident about Sunday's forecast now.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08If you're watching over the past few days,

0:01:08 > 0:01:10there was some uncertainty about a developing area of low pressure.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13It looks like it will arrive towards the northwest later in the day,

0:01:13 > 0:01:15bringing some wet and windy weather

0:01:15 > 0:01:17for Northern Ireland, Western Scotland.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21Elsewhere, high pressure holds on with some warm sunshine around.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24Moving through Sunday night, this area of low pressure and its

0:01:24 > 0:01:29windy conditions will move in across northern parts of the country.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32That means some wet and windy weather in the northwest.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35But elsewhere, we're going to see air coming in from

0:01:35 > 0:01:38a southerly direction, that means we're importing our air from

0:01:38 > 0:01:41North Africa, southern France too, up towards the UK.

0:01:41 > 0:01:43That means temperatures on the rise,

0:01:43 > 0:01:47for many of us, not everywhere, into the early part of next week.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Particularly across England and Wales,

0:01:49 > 0:01:50we've got that southerly airflow.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53Lots of warm and dry weather here, temperatures in the mid-20s.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Further northwest, reasonably mild still, but there will be some

0:01:56 > 0:01:59rain for Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03Onto Tuesday, we're set to see ripples running up this front

0:02:03 > 0:02:05and this area of low pressure will become a bit more of a player

0:02:05 > 0:02:09for some northern and western areas during the day on Tuesday.

0:02:09 > 0:02:10Again, mixed fortunes,

0:02:10 > 0:02:12northern and western areas will see some blustery showers.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15But central and eastern parts of the UK,

0:02:15 > 0:02:18certainly warm weather spreading in from the south.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22We could see 29, possibly 30 degrees during the day on Tuesday.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24We keep that warmth as we head through into Wednesday.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27Low pressure does remain pretty close to our shores.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30Again, the threat of unsettled weather with wind and rain at

0:02:30 > 0:02:33times in the far north and far west.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36Also the chance of some thundery showers moving in from the south.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38So a bit of a breakdown in conditions,

0:02:38 > 0:02:41still summery warmth around for many of us though, on Wednesday,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43and temperatures up there in the mid-20s.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47Let's take a look further ahead now into the latter part of next week.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50It does look like we'll remain under the influence of this area of

0:02:50 > 0:02:53low pressure, trying to move in from the west.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56It does bump into higher pressure across the near continent,

0:02:56 > 0:02:59but what we're set to see later next week is an oscillation in

0:02:59 > 0:03:03the jet stream, delivering areas of low pressure at times across the UK.

0:03:03 > 0:03:07Most likely to affect northern and western areas,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10whereas they will be interspersed with drier spells of weather,

0:03:10 > 0:03:11high-pressure moving in,

0:03:11 > 0:03:14particularly taking hold across the south and southeast.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16So it's bit of a mixed outlook for you.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18Things looking pretty warm for a time,

0:03:18 > 0:03:20but it'll turn more unsettled with the

0:03:20 > 0:03:22driest weather for southern and eastern areas.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24More in the way of showers and breezy conditions

0:03:24 > 0:03:26towards the north and west.

0:03:26 > 0:03:29But we'll keep you up-to-date right here. Bye-bye.
