1:19:01 > 1:19:04Hello there. So far this week, the weather pattern has been stuck in
1:19:04 > 1:19:08repeat but just like a classic BBC comedy or sitcom,
1:19:08 > 1:19:11if it's your favourite, just like this weather watcher's picture,
1:19:11 > 1:19:14you'll be happy to watch it over and over again.
1:19:14 > 1:19:18This was out to the west across Cumbria, beautiful day on Thursday.
1:19:18 > 1:19:22However, it was a different story along that east coast yet again,
1:19:22 > 1:19:23particularly through Norfolk,
1:19:23 > 1:19:25where we had a breeze which brought some rough seas
1:19:25 > 1:19:28and some rather threatening-looking skies,
1:19:28 > 1:19:31a real cluster of showers through the course of the day.
1:19:31 > 1:19:34We still keep the risk of some showers, perhaps the winds
1:19:34 > 1:19:37not quite as strong on Friday, but still the risk of some showers
1:19:37 > 1:19:40across East Anglia and down through the Kent coast.
1:19:40 > 1:19:43Again, after an early-morning frost and fog lifts,
1:19:43 > 1:19:46west will be best in terms of the sunshine, a scattering
1:19:46 > 1:19:49of showers a bit of a nuisance up into the Western Isles.
1:19:49 > 1:19:52Temperatures still a little subdued, though, for this time of the year.
1:19:52 > 1:19:56Now, as we move out of Friday towards the weekend,
1:19:56 > 1:19:58again we run the risk of more showers just filtering in off
1:19:58 > 1:20:01North Sea coasts - under clearer skies those temperatures
1:20:01 > 1:20:05will fall away to the west, so in rural spots we could see
1:20:05 > 1:20:08temperatures close enough for a touch of frost in sheltered areas
1:20:08 > 1:20:12and maybe even some lingering fog patches.
1:20:12 > 1:20:15But as we move towards the weekend, the weather pattern not really
1:20:15 > 1:20:18changing very much, so again we are stuck in repeat mode.
1:20:18 > 1:20:21There will be a good deal of dry, sunny weather in the offing,
1:20:21 > 1:20:25a nagging easterly breeze producing more in the way of showers
1:20:25 > 1:20:29off those North Sea coasts but there will be some decent, usable
1:20:29 > 1:20:32weather in the story, some decent spells of sunshine
1:20:32 > 1:20:36with highs of 10 to 15 degrees. We will start to see a bit of a
1:20:36 > 1:20:39subtle change for the second half of the weekend.
1:20:39 > 1:20:42We're likely to see an area of low pressure moving in from the
1:20:42 > 1:20:44south-west and that's going to strengthen the winds
1:20:44 > 1:20:48across southern England, eventually it may well bring some rain
1:20:48 > 1:20:51into the south-west but not until the end of the day.
1:20:51 > 1:20:54So, stronger wind might make it feel just that little bit cooler,
1:20:54 > 1:20:56maybe a little more cloud here but again a good deal of
1:20:56 > 1:21:00dry weather in the story - 9 to 14 degrees the high.
1:21:00 > 1:21:03By the end of Sunday into Monday, that weather front will bring
1:21:03 > 1:21:06some rain to southern England and Wales for a time
1:21:06 > 1:21:09but it drifts away. However, it's going to kick up some
1:21:09 > 1:21:12warmer air and some wetter weather threatens into
1:21:12 > 1:21:15the south-east for the start of next week. So, on Monday
1:21:15 > 1:21:18outbreaks of rain towards the end of the day, drier weather, again,
1:21:18 > 1:21:20the further north and west. Now,
1:21:20 > 1:21:23that little area of low pressure could bring some heavy rain
1:21:23 > 1:21:26for a time in the south-east corner but as that moves away
1:21:26 > 1:21:30we could see a change in the weather pattern. So, yes the rain
1:21:30 > 1:21:33eases away from the south-east, again a good deal of dry weather in
1:21:33 > 1:21:36the western half of the country but make the most of it.
1:21:36 > 1:21:40Things are set to change. We finally lose that repeat mode,
1:21:40 > 1:21:43the area of low pressure will drift off into the near Continent
1:21:43 > 1:21:46and just like musical chairs the high pressure sits in its seat.
1:21:46 > 1:21:49Once that high pressure drifts a little bit farther south,
1:21:49 > 1:21:53it allows lows to push back in from the Atlantic, we see a return
1:21:53 > 1:21:56to a mobile Westerly and there's a potential for some wetter
1:21:56 > 1:21:59weather to continue into the far north and west,
1:21:59 > 1:22:02something we've not seen for quite some time.
1:22:02 > 1:22:06So this has been the story in recent days, we've seen the best
1:22:06 > 1:22:08of the weather out to the west, and further east, off those
1:22:08 > 1:22:11North Sea coasts we've had quite a lot of cloud and a
1:22:11 > 1:22:16scattering of nuisance showers. But the longer six to ten-day period
1:22:16 > 1:22:19sees fortunes reversed - it looks as though we could see the wetter
1:22:19 > 1:22:22and windier weather up into the north-west with the best of the
1:22:22 > 1:22:25sunshine reserved for the far south-east.
1:22:25 > 1:22:27A lot to play for - I'll update you tomorrow.
