0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello there. As we head through the final few days of October into the
0:00:06 > 0:00:09new month of November, we will see a bit of a change in the weather,
0:00:09 > 0:00:11with the change of the month.
0:00:11 > 0:00:14We've seen temperatures this week up at around 19 degrees,
0:00:14 > 0:00:15well above average for the time of year.
0:00:15 > 0:00:17Through the course of next week,
0:00:17 > 0:00:19they'll be more typically around about 10 to 12 degrees,
0:00:19 > 0:00:22so significantly cooler conditions on the cards
0:00:22 > 0:00:24into the first part of November.
0:00:24 > 0:00:25High pressure still dominating
0:00:25 > 0:00:26our weather at the moment,
0:00:26 > 0:00:28so lots of dry weather on the cards
0:00:28 > 0:00:29over the next few days.
0:00:29 > 0:00:31Some rain working into the far north-west
0:00:31 > 0:00:33and on Sunday the main hazard will be
0:00:33 > 0:00:35some fairly dense fog patches likely
0:00:35 > 0:00:37particularly in the south-east of England
0:00:37 > 0:00:38and East Anglia too.
0:00:38 > 0:00:40Elsewhere, a little bit of mist
0:00:40 > 0:00:41and murk around under that cloud,
0:00:41 > 0:00:43but it should be an improving picture.
0:00:43 > 0:00:44Mist and fog clearing with some sunshine
0:00:44 > 0:00:46by the afternoon, particularly through
0:00:46 > 0:00:47parts of southern England
0:00:47 > 0:00:49and also towards north-east England,
0:00:49 > 0:00:50Scotland and Northern Ireland too.
0:00:50 > 0:00:52Temperatures still doing well
0:00:52 > 0:00:54for the time of year, between 13 to 17.
0:00:54 > 0:00:56We could see 18 degrees or so
0:00:56 > 0:00:58for one or two places once again.
0:00:58 > 0:01:00Then, moving through the course of Monday,
0:01:00 > 0:01:02we've got this weather front
0:01:02 > 0:01:04that's moving in towards the north-west,
0:01:04 > 0:01:05now that will bring some rain
0:01:05 > 0:01:06initially to northern parts of Scotland
0:01:06 > 0:01:08and then just pushing a little bit
0:01:08 > 0:01:10further south through the course of the day,
0:01:10 > 0:01:12so certainly some wet and some breezy weather
0:01:12 > 0:01:14in the far north, but for the vast majority
0:01:14 > 0:01:15of places, it's going to be
0:01:15 > 0:01:16another fine day,
0:01:16 > 0:01:18once the fog clears away, that is.
0:01:18 > 0:01:20In the south, there'll be some sunshine,
0:01:20 > 0:01:21and highs up to around 17 Celsius.
0:01:21 > 0:01:23Through the course of Monday night
0:01:23 > 0:01:25and rolling through into Tuesday,
0:01:25 > 0:01:26we see this weather front
0:01:26 > 0:01:27just starting to slide
0:01:27 > 0:01:29further south across the UK.
0:01:29 > 0:01:31As it does so, it'll be weakening,
0:01:31 > 0:01:33but it'll also introduce cooler air,
0:01:33 > 0:01:35so the mild air that's been in charge
0:01:35 > 0:01:37gets squeezed away towards the south.
0:01:37 > 0:01:39You can see a return to the blue colours,
0:01:39 > 0:01:41indicating a colder air mass on the way
0:01:41 > 0:01:43as we head through the course of Tuesday
0:01:43 > 0:01:44and on into Wednesday as well.
0:01:44 > 0:01:46So what does that mean weatherwise?
0:01:46 > 0:01:48Well, a different feel to the weather, I think,
0:01:48 > 0:01:49through the day on Tuesday,
0:01:49 > 0:01:50particularly across Scotland
0:01:50 > 0:01:51and Northern Ireland,
0:01:51 > 0:01:53where we're in that cold air.
0:01:53 > 0:01:54The weakening front just slips
0:01:54 > 0:01:55slowly further south
0:01:55 > 0:01:57across central England and Wales
0:01:57 > 0:01:59and it's still reasonably mild and murky
0:01:59 > 0:02:00in the south, around 14 degrees,
0:02:00 > 0:02:02but further north across Scotland,
0:02:02 > 0:02:04temperatures just 10 Celsius.
0:02:04 > 0:02:06And first thing Wednesday morning,
0:02:06 > 0:02:08we could well see quite a widespread frost,
0:02:08 > 0:02:10the first one we've seen in a little while.
0:02:10 > 0:02:12Temperatures as low as around minus 2
0:02:12 > 0:02:13or minus 3 degrees,
0:02:13 > 0:02:15particularly in the countryside.
0:02:15 > 0:02:16So a chilly start,
0:02:16 > 0:02:17certainly, to Wednesday.
0:02:17 > 0:02:18Now, through Wednesday,
0:02:18 > 0:02:20frost clearing away, not a bad day,
0:02:20 > 0:02:21actually, we've got higher pressure
0:02:21 > 0:02:22building once again,
0:02:22 > 0:02:25so some sunshine, lots of dry weather,
0:02:25 > 0:02:27but temperatures significantly cooler,
0:02:27 > 0:02:28round about 9 to 11 degrees,
0:02:28 > 0:02:30particularly cool around the east coast.
0:02:30 > 0:02:32So this is the pressure setup Wednesday
0:02:32 > 0:02:34through into Thursday as well -
0:02:34 > 0:02:35we've got high pressure
0:02:35 > 0:02:37just to the south-west of the UK,
0:02:37 > 0:02:38low pressure out towards the east,
0:02:38 > 0:02:40so a reversal in the pressure
0:02:40 > 0:02:42compared to what we've seen
0:02:42 > 0:02:43throughout much of October.
0:02:43 > 0:02:45Now, through the day on Thursday,
0:02:45 > 0:02:47again a chilly start with some frost
0:02:47 > 0:02:48and some pockets of fog as well.
0:02:48 > 0:02:50Rain trying to work into the north-west,
0:02:50 > 0:02:52but for many parts of the UK
0:02:52 > 0:02:54another quite bright and sunny day,
0:02:54 > 0:02:55although some of us struggling
0:02:55 > 0:02:57to get into double figures,
0:02:57 > 0:03:00so a much cooler feel to the weather through the day on Thursday.
0:03:00 > 0:03:03So late next week and into the weekend,
0:03:03 > 0:03:05we've got low pressure sitting somewhere to the east of the UK,
0:03:05 > 0:03:08high-pressure more likely to the west or the south-west
0:03:08 > 0:03:09and that means we're left
0:03:09 > 0:03:12with this fairly cool north-westerly airflow,
0:03:12 > 0:03:14bringing with it some rain at times,
0:03:14 > 0:03:16particularly for northern and western parts of the UK,
0:03:16 > 0:03:17but through the course of next week,
0:03:17 > 0:03:19things are certainly going to be
0:03:19 > 0:03:20feeling quite a bit colder.
0:03:20 > 0:03:22There will be more in the way of sunshine,
0:03:22 > 0:03:23but also the chance of
0:03:23 > 0:03:25a bit of rain at times
0:03:25 > 0:03:27and a return to some night-time frosts,
0:03:27 > 0:03:28so a change of month
0:03:28 > 0:03:30and a change of weather on the way.
