0:00:02 > 0:00:04In the last day or so, it's almost as if Mother Nature

0:00:04 > 0:00:05has turned a switch.

0:00:05 > 0:00:09We had a warm end of October, warm Halloween.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Now, we're into November and it's got quite a bit colder

0:00:12 > 0:00:15and there are some frosts on the way, particularly in the morning.

0:00:15 > 0:00:19But it's not all bad, we've got some sunshine on the way as well.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21High pressure is in charge on Wednesday.

0:00:21 > 0:00:25It will be cold and crisp and sunny in the morning and that's

0:00:25 > 0:00:27exactly what we're going to keep in the afternoon.

0:00:27 > 0:00:31Let's not forget, those of us who like the cold mornings

0:00:31 > 0:00:33and the crisp, sunny afternoons,

0:00:33 > 0:00:34that is what we will get on Wednesday.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36Not completely dry.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38There will be one or two showers around.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40One or two sprinkles flirting with these North Sea coasts.

0:00:40 > 0:00:44They may be from more northern and eastern Scotland, down into Norwich

0:00:44 > 0:00:48but the vast majority of the UK will be enjoying that autumn sunshine.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50Now, high pressure is with us.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52We'll talk about this weather front in a second,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54but high pressure is across the south of the country.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57It is retreating a bit but still sitting across the south.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00So that is where we will have the light winds and the frosty

0:01:00 > 0:01:02weather into Thursday.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04Thursday morning's chilly.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08More of a breeze across the north, so perhaps that frost lifting a bit.

0:01:08 > 0:01:09So here's Thursday,

0:01:09 > 0:01:13still high pressure and dry weather in the south, some sunshine there.

0:01:13 > 0:01:18But low pressure comes in off the Atlantic and introduces more cloud,

0:01:18 > 0:01:20outbreaks of rain.

0:01:20 > 0:01:22This is not milder weather, low pressures often bring milder weather

0:01:22 > 0:01:26but this one has a lot of chilly weather stuck in it and circling

0:01:26 > 0:01:30around so I think on Friday, rather than crisp and cold, it's going to

0:01:30 > 0:01:35be damp and cold for a lot of us.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37So cloudy, outbreaks of rain.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39There'll be some sunshine around,

0:01:39 > 0:01:41but for many of us, quite a cloudy day.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44And look at those temperatures, around eight degrees in Newcastle.

0:01:44 > 0:01:49This low is going to shift a little bit towards the east and then

0:01:49 > 0:01:52the isobars come in from the north.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55So this is where our airstream is coming from.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58This is the air mass. Remember it's relative temperature,

0:01:58 > 0:02:00this does not mean it will be freezing.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03This is where the mild air is, this is where the colder air is.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06So we have that northerly, north-easterly wind,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08bringing those chilly conditions.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Lots of shells on Saturday across

0:02:10 > 0:02:13North Sea coasts and further inland as well.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15Hail a possibility.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Nine degrees, a wind-chill as well.

0:02:17 > 0:02:21And then on Saturday night, Bonfire Night, it's not looking too bad.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24There will be some clear skies around but more of a breeze

0:02:24 > 0:02:26and a chance of catching some showers,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29but I think there will be some good conditions around as well.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Here's Sunday, again you can see the air is coming in from the

0:02:31 > 0:02:33north and north-east.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36Chilly conditions, it really will be Mickey in Newcastle.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39And barely into double figures across the south.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41Let's see what's happening in the next week.

0:02:41 > 0:02:45So we have high pressure towards the south and then these weather fronts

0:02:45 > 0:02:48try to push in into north-western parts of the UK.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50You will notice rain here.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53It all follows the same pattern of the Jet Stream.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55When we see the Jet Stream coming in from the north,

0:02:55 > 0:02:57that's when where our air is coming from.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00So it's still going to be on the chilly side.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Had this Jet stream been further south, going that way,

0:03:03 > 0:03:04it would have been milder.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07But this is slightly, not mild air,

0:03:07 > 0:03:11but slightly less cold air that will be toppling over and the really

0:03:11 > 0:03:17chilly crisp air will be moving a little bit further towards the east.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20So not as cold, not as crisp, but still chilly.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23There will be rain at times throughout the UK

0:03:23 > 0:03:26but the driest of the weather will remain in the south.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Thanks for watching.
