0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello. Compared with the dramas at the end of last week,

0:00:05 > 0:00:07with the ice and snow and strong winds and big waves,

0:00:07 > 0:00:10nothing too dramatic to look forward to this week. That's good news.

0:00:10 > 0:00:11A lot of dry weather, too.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14The catch is, there will be a lot of this, a lot of cloud,

0:00:14 > 0:00:16a rather grey prospect for many.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18Just a question of what shade of grey we will have.

0:00:18 > 0:00:22Hopefully some breaks in the cloud, some glimpses of sunshine

0:00:22 > 0:00:25where you are but don't expect too much in the way of sunshine.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27A grey start to Monday morning,

0:00:27 > 0:00:29there will be a line of rain through central areas.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31Quite a chilly start across East Anglia and the far south-east.

0:00:31 > 0:00:34Maybe a touch of frost, the odd fog patch but milder further

0:00:34 > 0:00:36north and west, no problems with frost.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38But it will be a murky start to the day.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41Dry for Northern Ireland and the bulk of Scotland and

0:00:41 > 0:00:43temperatures here well up.

0:00:43 > 0:00:47Through the day, that damper zone is going to stay put,

0:00:47 > 0:00:51although some of the more persistent rain will ease away down

0:00:51 > 0:00:53through the West Country and across the English Channel.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Still a line of damp weather here.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58Dry on either side and some sunshine for East Anglia and the far

0:00:58 > 0:01:01south-east. It will be chilly here, just four, five, six degrees,

0:01:01 > 0:01:03milder further north and west, double figures for

0:01:03 > 0:01:04Northern Ireland and Scotland

0:01:04 > 0:01:07and hopefully a few glimpses of sunshine.

0:01:07 > 0:01:08On into Tuesday, no great changes.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11We could wake up to frost across the far south-east but it will be

0:01:11 > 0:01:14chilly here. Further north and west, more cloud but higher temperatures.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18Some damp, dreary weather across parts of northern England.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20That's really the pattern for the early part of this week.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23Across more western parts of the UK,

0:01:23 > 0:01:26more cloud around but it will be relatively mild.

0:01:26 > 0:01:3010 degrees at this time of year is pretty good.

0:01:30 > 0:01:34Further south and east across the country, that much chillier,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37particularly across the far south-east.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41Even by day we will be struggling to get much more than five degrees.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44With clear skies, the prospect of frost.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47There is some uncertainty about the extent of those clear skies but

0:01:47 > 0:01:52certainly expect scenes like this across the far south-east at least.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55That's nothing compared with the cold across other parts of

0:01:55 > 0:01:56continental Europe.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00A surge of chilly air all the way down towards Spain and Portugal,

0:02:00 > 0:02:02temperatures widely, by day,

0:02:02 > 0:02:05staying below freezing with severe overnight frost.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07We are living a charmed life back home.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10With high pressure in place, relatively quiet.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12A lot of dry weather.

0:02:12 > 0:02:13A weather front up to the far north-west,

0:02:13 > 0:02:16producing thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Not ruling out the odd spot of drizzly rain elsewhere but generally

0:02:19 > 0:02:21dry, albeit quite cloudy.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23Pinpointing who's going to see the best when it breaks will not

0:02:23 > 0:02:26be easy. Again, potentially the far south-east.

0:02:26 > 0:02:30Quite chilly here, elsewhere temperatures much of a muchness.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33It is a similar story on Thursday, with a lot of dry,

0:02:33 > 0:02:35albeit quite cloudy weather.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39Some areas of fog around and wherever the skies break

0:02:39 > 0:02:42overnight again, the possibility of frost.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44So we end the week with a similar pattern.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47The high pressure still fending off these rain-bearing weather fronts

0:02:47 > 0:02:49to the north and the west.

0:02:49 > 0:02:53No surprises that Friday's chart is going to look a bit like this.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56Don't take the detail too literally but you get the gist.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58A quiet end to a quiet week,

0:02:58 > 0:03:02weather-wise, temperatures at sixes and sevens.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04Similar pattern through the weekend,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06we think, with this block in the jet stream.

0:03:06 > 0:03:08However, as the Atlantic developments are starting to

0:03:08 > 0:03:11take place with the jet stream waking up, it'll start to

0:03:11 > 0:03:15surge its way in this direction, and eventually it will bring

0:03:15 > 0:03:17a change in the weather with some rain-bearing weather fronts.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20A dry start into next week before the rain will arrive.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22It will probably turn windier as well.

0:03:22 > 0:03:26The timing of that change is still somewhat uncertain

0:03:26 > 0:03:29so stay tuned and we'll update you again tomorrow.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35Why would James Delaney hate the India so?

0:03:35 > 0:03:37For what do you risk your life?

0:03:39 > 0:03:42I have eyes and ears everywhere.

0:03:43 > 0:03:44Ah!

0:03:50 > 0:03:51Text me later?
