0:00:02 > 0:00:03Hello there. Thursday was a fine spring day

0:00:03 > 0:00:05but there's warmer weather on the way

0:00:05 > 0:00:07for many of us this weekend.

0:00:07 > 0:00:09Friday starts rather chilly

0:00:09 > 0:00:10across southern and eastern areas,

0:00:10 > 0:00:11here's where we've got

0:00:11 > 0:00:13the best of the early sunshine.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15Sunshine continuing in eastern Scotland,

0:00:15 > 0:00:17perhaps north-east England, or especially

0:00:17 > 0:00:18for Wales and the south-west.

0:00:18 > 0:00:20A little more cloud developing

0:00:20 > 0:00:22for the Midlands and other eastern parts,

0:00:22 > 0:00:24still some cloud for north-west England,

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Northern Ireland and Western Scotland,

0:00:26 > 0:00:29but a lot of dry weather, and in the sunshine,

0:00:29 > 0:00:30temperatures easily getting

0:00:30 > 0:00:31into the mid-teens.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Cloud amount is quite difficult

0:00:33 > 0:00:34to forecast at the moment,

0:00:34 > 0:00:36and there will still be

0:00:36 > 0:00:37clearer skies about overnight,

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Friday night into Saturday morning.

0:00:39 > 0:00:40Again, particularly across

0:00:40 > 0:00:42more southern and eastern parts,

0:00:42 > 0:00:43perhaps into Wales.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45In the countryside, those temperatures

0:00:45 > 0:00:47won't be far away from freezing.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49As we start the weekend, though,

0:00:49 > 0:00:50it warms up in the sunshine,

0:00:50 > 0:00:52and we're going to find more sunshine,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54less cloud on Saturday,

0:00:54 > 0:00:55and the sunshine extends

0:00:55 > 0:00:58its way to all but the far north of Scotland,

0:00:58 > 0:00:59into Northern Ireland, and will break up

0:00:59 > 0:01:01the cloud across East Anglia

0:01:01 > 0:01:02and the south-east as well.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05Temperatures could be 17, 18, maybe 19 degrees,

0:01:05 > 0:01:07it will be feeling warming though

0:01:07 > 0:01:10further north, with the sunnier skies here.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12High pressure that's right

0:01:12 > 0:01:13over the top of us now

0:01:13 > 0:01:15slides away into the near Continent,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17allowing these weather fronts to encroach into

0:01:17 > 0:01:19the north-west on Sunday, but at the same time,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21we're going to be drawing up

0:01:21 > 0:01:23some much warmer air from the south,

0:01:23 > 0:01:26in across England and Wales,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28also seeing more sunshine,

0:01:28 > 0:01:29so a lot of sunshine for much of

0:01:29 > 0:01:31England and Wales on Sunday.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33Always going to be more cloud for Scotland,

0:01:33 > 0:01:35especially in the west, and Northern Ireland,

0:01:35 > 0:01:37where we've got rain later on.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40Some of that cloud could push over the Irish Sea.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42So it's not going to be really warm everywhere,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44mainly eastern parts of Wales,

0:01:44 > 0:01:46central and eastern England,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49where we're going to find temperatures

0:01:49 > 0:01:5122 or possibly even 23 degrees.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53But it's only going to be with us

0:01:53 > 0:01:55for a short period of time - a day.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57This weather front that's bringing the rain

0:01:57 > 0:01:59into the north-west moves southwards overnight.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01There's little or no rain on it,

0:02:01 > 0:02:03but we push away the warm air,

0:02:03 > 0:02:05introduce much colder air.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07Temperatures could be

0:02:07 > 0:02:09eight or nine degrees lower on Monday

0:02:09 > 0:02:11compared with Sunday, and we're going

0:02:11 > 0:02:13to find a few showers across the northern half of the UK,

0:02:13 > 0:02:15particularly northern Scotland.

0:02:15 > 0:02:16For many places, it will

0:02:16 > 0:02:18be cloudier, it will be cooler,

0:02:18 > 0:02:20but it's still going to be dry.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23As we move from Monday into Tuesday,

0:02:23 > 0:02:25we push away that colder air,

0:02:25 > 0:02:26and instead of a northerly wind,

0:02:26 > 0:02:27we get more of a westerly wind

0:02:27 > 0:02:29around the top of high pressure.

0:02:29 > 0:02:30That looks like it's going to

0:02:30 > 0:02:32bring some outbreaks of rain,

0:02:32 > 0:02:35chiefly to Scotland, perhaps Northern Ireland,

0:02:35 > 0:02:37push more cloud southwards

0:02:37 > 0:02:38but still some sunshine for

0:02:38 > 0:02:41southern parts of England and Wales.

0:02:41 > 0:02:42Then as we head closer to Easter,

0:02:42 > 0:02:44there's still high pressure on the scene,

0:02:44 > 0:02:46but it's not going to be

0:02:46 > 0:02:48covering the whole country this time,

0:02:48 > 0:02:49as it is right now.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51And low pressure areas will run

0:02:51 > 0:02:53across the north and take the wetter weather

0:02:53 > 0:02:55away from northern parts of the UK.

0:02:55 > 0:02:56So as we run into Easter,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58high pressure looks like its going to be

0:02:58 > 0:02:59sitting to the south-west.

0:02:59 > 0:03:00This looks like it's going to be

0:03:00 > 0:03:02the general weather pattern.

0:03:02 > 0:03:03We'll have a north-westerly wind,

0:03:03 > 0:03:05that will bring showers

0:03:05 > 0:03:06and make it feel a touch cooler,

0:03:06 > 0:03:08but every now and again we could see

0:03:08 > 0:03:10the high pressure pushing northwards,

0:03:10 > 0:03:12taking the drier and settled weather

0:03:12 > 0:03:14further north across the UK

0:03:14 > 0:03:16and pushing those showers further away.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18But throughout, average temperatures at best,

0:03:18 > 0:03:20it may be a little colder than average,

0:03:20 > 0:03:22and as we've seen, not much rain away

0:03:22 > 0:03:23from the showers

0:03:23 > 0:03:24in the north and north-east,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26and we've got the sunniest weather

0:03:26 > 0:03:27in the south-west of the UK,

0:03:27 > 0:03:29closer to the high.
