0:00:02 > 0:00:04Hello. We'll look at the Easter weather forecast in a moment.

0:00:04 > 0:00:06One thing I can tell you straightaway is that

0:00:06 > 0:00:09it won't be as warm as the weather we're seeing this weekend.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12It really is warming up across many parts of the country,

0:00:12 > 0:00:14even on Saturday, more sunshine across northern England,

0:00:14 > 0:00:18Northern Ireland, up into Scotland, away from the far north of Scotland

0:00:18 > 0:00:21and another lovely day across England and Wales.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24After a chilly start, those temperatures will rise sharply,

0:00:24 > 0:00:27probably peaking again towards the south-east, 20 or 21 or so,

0:00:27 > 0:00:30but a warmer day for Northern England than it was on Friday,

0:00:30 > 0:00:33so too across Northern Ireland and most of Scotland.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Now, during the evening and overnight with light winds,

0:00:36 > 0:00:39no wind at all and clear skies, temperatures will fall away,

0:00:39 > 0:00:41there will be one or two mist and fog patches,

0:00:41 > 0:00:44and we start to cloud over in the north-west of Scotland

0:00:44 > 0:00:46and much of Northern Ireland, but where we have the clearer skies

0:00:46 > 0:00:48in the countryside it will be chilly -

0:00:48 > 0:00:51perhaps not quite as cold, though, as early on Saturday morning.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54Warmer air, clearer air is pushing its way on these southerly winds

0:00:54 > 0:00:56but it's meeting this weather front here,

0:00:56 > 0:00:58so a clash taking place on Sunday.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01Apart from eastern Scotland, which doesn't look too bad

0:01:01 > 0:01:03for most of the day, the rest of Scotland not as good,

0:01:03 > 0:01:05so too Northern Ireland, clouding over,

0:01:05 > 0:01:07this band of rain coming down on that weather front too,

0:01:07 > 0:01:10but for England and Wales a lot of sunshine,

0:01:10 > 0:01:12maybe a bit more cloud filling in our across the Irish Sea,

0:01:12 > 0:01:15so where we have the cloud, 13 or 14 degrees,

0:01:15 > 0:01:18but the temperatures are set to peak across eastern England,

0:01:18 > 0:01:2223 north of London, up towards the East Midlands and Cambridgeshire.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24This heat isn't going to last much longer, though.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28This weather front bringing the rain in the north-west on Sunday

0:01:28 > 0:01:31sweeps southwards, brings no rain at all, really,

0:01:31 > 0:01:35but introduces a north-westerly wind, bringing in some colder air,

0:01:35 > 0:01:38so for many of us Monday may well be dry,

0:01:38 > 0:01:41we may well have rather cloudy skies like this,

0:01:41 > 0:01:42it will feel colder,

0:01:42 > 0:01:45certainly looks colder across Scotland, in northern Scotland,

0:01:45 > 0:01:48where there may well be some wintry showers around as well

0:01:48 > 0:01:50but many places will have a dry day,

0:01:50 > 0:01:53but these are the maximum temperatures and for some parts

0:01:53 > 0:01:58of England and Wales, they're some eight degrees lower than Sunday.

0:01:58 > 0:02:03Now, that north-westerly, that cooler wind won't last into Tuesday

0:02:03 > 0:02:07because it gets cut off, the colder air goes into Scandinavia.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Instead we get more of a westerly wind

0:02:09 > 0:02:11around the top of that high pressure, which will blow in

0:02:11 > 0:02:14more cloud across Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Most of the rain will be in Scotland,

0:02:16 > 0:02:19it could be quite wet in the north-west, but for England,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21southern England, Midlands, Wales, it's going to be dry.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24Still those temperatures no better than about 15 degrees or so

0:02:24 > 0:02:26underneath that area of high pressure.

0:02:26 > 0:02:30That high pressure is going to move a bit as we look into the outlook.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32We could well find it shrinking to a certain extent

0:02:32 > 0:02:34as that weather front sweeps southward on Wednesday.

0:02:34 > 0:02:38A bit of rain on that, quite a few showers following in behind

0:02:38 > 0:02:41but once again little or no rain for the south-east of England,

0:02:41 > 0:02:45but it will feel quite chilly out there, temperatures 10 or 11 degrees

0:02:45 > 0:02:47at best across some northern parts of the UK.

0:02:47 > 0:02:52And that takes us into the outlook, then, where we've got the jet stream

0:02:52 > 0:02:55to the north and diving down the eastern side

0:02:55 > 0:02:59around that area of high pressure, quite an elongated high pressure,

0:02:59 > 0:03:02basically the high looks like it's going to be sitting

0:03:02 > 0:03:05into the Easter period towards the south-west,

0:03:05 > 0:03:07and this is the general weather pattern we're expecting,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10so around the high we'll have some north-westerly winds

0:03:10 > 0:03:14and that will bring with it some sunshine and some showers,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16particularly in the north and north-east.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19The position of the high could move a bit further north across the UK

0:03:19 > 0:03:21but it is going to be quite cool in those winds,

0:03:21 > 0:03:23not a great deal of rain around once again

0:03:23 > 0:03:26and closer to the high pressure in the south-west,

0:03:26 > 0:03:29this is where we've got the sunshine.
