0:00:03 > 0:00:05Thanks for tuning in for the weather for the week ahead.
0:00:05 > 0:00:08In the short-term, we've had great weather and more to come
0:00:08 > 0:00:11for the second half of the weekend.
0:00:11 > 0:00:13In south-eastern parts of England,
0:00:13 > 0:00:16temperatures could go up to 25 degrees Celsius.
0:00:16 > 0:00:18Pretty unusual for this time of the year.
0:00:18 > 0:00:20By Monday, a big drop in the temperature
0:00:20 > 0:00:23and the highest value in the UK
0:00:23 > 0:00:25will probably be around 15 degrees,
0:00:25 > 0:00:28and for many of us, even cooler than that.
0:00:28 > 0:00:30What's happening on Sunday?
0:00:30 > 0:00:31We've got warm air coming in from
0:00:31 > 0:00:34the south across eastern Britain.
0:00:34 > 0:00:36This is warmest of the weather.
0:00:36 > 0:00:38We're starting to see a change in
0:00:38 > 0:00:40the north-west of the country.
0:00:40 > 0:00:42The winds are swinging in from the north-west.
0:00:42 > 0:00:44We have a cool front approaching
0:00:44 > 0:00:46with cloud and some rain.
0:00:46 > 0:00:48Look at that temperature of only 12 to 14
0:00:48 > 0:00:49for Glasgow and Belfast.
0:00:49 > 0:00:52But southerly air wafting up from the south
0:00:52 > 0:00:53still into the 20s
0:00:53 > 0:00:55across parts of England.
0:00:55 > 0:00:57Through the course of Sunday night
0:00:57 > 0:00:58into Monday,
0:00:58 > 0:01:00that weather front will be crossing the UK.
0:01:00 > 0:01:01Behind it,
0:01:01 > 0:01:03that north-westerly wind,
0:01:03 > 0:01:04much fresher Atlantic air
0:01:04 > 0:01:06reaching southern areas as well.
0:01:06 > 0:01:08It will be quite chilly early Monday,
0:01:08 > 0:01:10these are the city temperature,
0:01:10 > 0:01:11out in rural spots
0:01:11 > 0:01:13it will be colder than that.
0:01:13 > 0:01:14Here's Monday.
0:01:14 > 0:01:16That fresher Atlantic air has reached
0:01:16 > 0:01:19southern areas by now as well.
0:01:19 > 0:01:21The temperatures won't be anywhere near
0:01:21 > 0:01:23as high as Sunday here
0:01:23 > 0:01:24across the south-east.
0:01:24 > 0:01:26Let's take a look at the values.
0:01:26 > 0:01:28Talking about 15 degrees for London.
0:01:28 > 0:01:29For many of us,
0:01:29 > 0:01:30only around 10 or 11 degrees.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32And we'll have showers around as well.
0:01:32 > 0:01:34Not a bad day,
0:01:34 > 0:01:36but certainly a much fresher day,
0:01:36 > 0:01:39feeling nowhere near as warm.
0:01:39 > 0:01:42Then Monday night into Tuesday,
0:01:42 > 0:01:44high pressure starts to nudge back in again.
0:01:44 > 0:01:46Just a bit of a nose, a hint of high pressure,
0:01:46 > 0:01:48so that means that the southern half of
0:01:48 > 0:01:50the UK will have the best of the weather.
0:01:50 > 0:01:52Still on the cool side,
0:01:52 > 0:01:53but there will be some sunshine.
0:01:53 > 0:01:55To the north, you will have
0:01:55 > 0:01:56weather fronts coming in,
0:01:56 > 0:01:58so places like north-western Scotland
0:01:58 > 0:01:59and the Northern Isles
0:01:59 > 0:02:00will be getting some rain.
0:02:00 > 0:02:02For many of us it will be a dry day.
0:02:02 > 0:02:05There's not an awful lot of change for Wednesday.
0:02:05 > 0:02:08Quite a brisk north-westerly wind coming in.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10Temperate again 10, 12, 13 degrees.
0:02:10 > 0:02:12That little bit warmer in the capital,
0:02:12 > 0:02:15around 16 degrees Celsius.
0:02:15 > 0:02:18By Thursday, again, a similar sort of day.
0:02:18 > 0:02:21Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
0:02:21 > 0:02:23not got a lot happening with the weather.
0:02:23 > 0:02:25It's just fairly fresh for most of us,
0:02:25 > 0:02:27a little bit of rain
0:02:27 > 0:02:28or some showers across northern areas
0:02:28 > 0:02:31and temperatures say 11 to 15 degrees.
0:02:31 > 0:02:33Let's have a look at the Easter period.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35This is Good Friday. Here's the jet stream
0:02:35 > 0:02:36coming in from the north-west.
0:02:36 > 0:02:38Even from the north here.
0:02:38 > 0:02:39And that's where our air,
0:02:39 > 0:02:40our weather is coming from.
0:02:40 > 0:02:43So quite a fresh Good Friday on the way,
0:02:43 > 0:02:45with some showers across some northern areas.
0:02:45 > 0:02:46Looking at this schematically
0:02:46 > 0:02:47through the Easter weekend
0:02:47 > 0:02:49we will see mostly cool air
0:02:49 > 0:02:50coming in from the north.
0:02:50 > 0:02:51Perhaps the south-western
0:02:51 > 0:02:53areas hanging on to something.
0:02:53 > 0:02:54Just that little bit less,
0:02:54 > 0:02:55that little bit milder
0:02:55 > 0:02:57and maybe sunnier.
0:02:57 > 0:02:58Through the Easter, some rain around,
0:02:58 > 0:03:00it's not going to be a write-off ,
0:03:00 > 0:03:03but we will have some rain from time to time.
0:03:03 > 0:03:07Beyond Easter, high pressure builds in again from the south
0:03:07 > 0:03:11and around the high pressure we'll see slightly milder air returning
0:03:11 > 0:03:14to the UK, so perhaps those temperatures rising a little bit.
0:03:14 > 0:03:16Let's concentrate on Easter
0:03:16 > 0:03:18because in the short-term that's most
0:03:18 > 0:03:19important at least for now.
0:03:19 > 0:03:21It will be a rather cool Easter.
0:03:21 > 0:03:23There's not going to be lot of rain around,
0:03:23 > 0:03:24just a few scattered showers.
0:03:24 > 0:03:26Best of the weather somewhere in the south,
0:03:26 > 0:03:27probably the south-west.
0:03:27 > 0:03:29Thanks for watching.
