0:00:02 > 0:00:04Hello. Thanks for tuning in. As promised, a beautiful weekend,
0:00:04 > 0:00:06clear blue skies across most of the UK.
0:00:06 > 0:00:09Most of us managed to get at least one sunny day,
0:00:09 > 0:00:12and temperatures, as predicted, hit the mid-20s
0:00:12 > 0:00:13in London and the South-east.
0:00:13 > 0:00:15Not like it everywhere,
0:00:15 > 0:00:17but warm enough in most places.
0:00:17 > 0:00:19On Monday, it'll be a lot cooler.
0:00:19 > 0:00:22For some of us, a 10-degree drop on the way.
0:00:22 > 0:00:24This is the satellite image from earlier on.
0:00:24 > 0:00:25You can see how clear
0:00:25 > 0:00:28the weather was across England, most of Wales,
0:00:28 > 0:00:30but already some cloud encroaching into
0:00:30 > 0:00:31Southwestern England and Wales,
0:00:31 > 0:00:33and here in the Northwest,
0:00:33 > 0:00:35we have a weather front, a cold front,
0:00:35 > 0:00:37and that will be moving across the country
0:00:37 > 0:00:38during the course of Monday night.
0:00:38 > 0:00:40Behind it, that much fresher air
0:00:40 > 0:00:42coming in all the way from the Northwest,
0:00:42 > 0:00:45so fresher conditions setting in all through the night
0:00:45 > 0:00:48and reaching Southern areas as well, where so far,
0:00:48 > 0:00:49we've had warm air coming in from
0:00:49 > 0:00:51the South instead.
0:00:51 > 0:00:52So early on Monday morning,
0:00:52 > 0:00:54around five or six degrees
0:00:54 > 0:00:55in the middle of town in the North.
0:00:55 > 0:00:57Still around 7-9 across the South.
0:00:57 > 0:01:00And the week ahead: It's going to be a lot cooler for sure,
0:01:00 > 0:01:04but there will be some sunny spells, and most days will actually be dry.
0:01:04 > 0:01:06Only from time to time will we get a few showers,
0:01:06 > 0:01:09and mostly across Northern areas of the UK.
0:01:09 > 0:01:11So the weather map for Monday:
0:01:11 > 0:01:14This is the cold front bringing the fresher conditions,
0:01:14 > 0:01:15so behind it, the air's tucking in.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18It's chilly, it's coming in from the North.
0:01:18 > 0:01:20High-pressure sort of starts to nose in
0:01:20 > 0:01:21so actually, there will be
0:01:21 > 0:01:22a lot of dry weather around.
0:01:22 > 0:01:24The few showers that we will get
0:01:24 > 0:01:25will be across North-western parts
0:01:25 > 0:01:28of Scotland, perhaps running through Northern Ireland,
0:01:28 > 0:01:29the odd one moving through
0:01:29 > 0:01:31the Lake District and Yorkshire,
0:01:31 > 0:01:33perhaps into Lincolnshire as well.
0:01:33 > 0:01:35But for the most part, it is going to be a dry day,
0:01:35 > 0:01:37and temperatures a lot, lot fresher.
0:01:37 > 0:01:40So in London, no longer 25, not 25,
0:01:40 > 0:01:4215 degrees Celsius, that is.
0:01:42 > 0:01:4510 degrees in Glasgow.
0:01:45 > 0:01:47And then Monday night into Tuesday,
0:01:47 > 0:01:49high pressure nudges in back across the UK,
0:01:49 > 0:01:51so the Southern half of the country
0:01:51 > 0:01:53will actually have dry weather,
0:01:53 > 0:01:54whereas in the North, we have
0:01:54 > 0:01:55weather fronts coming in.
0:01:55 > 0:01:57So across Western parts of Scotland,
0:01:57 > 0:01:59the Northern Isles, increasing winds
0:01:59 > 0:02:02and some spots of rain. The rest of the country,
0:02:02 > 0:02:04variable amounts of cloud, a pretty fresh day,
0:02:04 > 0:02:06with temperatures typically around
0:02:06 > 0:02:09about 11 to 13 degrees,
0:02:09 > 0:02:11perhaps a little bit warmer there in London.
0:02:11 > 0:02:13And really not an awful lot of change
0:02:13 > 0:02:15as we head into Thursday as well.
0:02:15 > 0:02:17North-west winds and some clouds
0:02:17 > 0:02:19with also showers
0:02:19 > 0:02:21across North-western parts of Scotland.
0:02:21 > 0:02:23Let's have a look at the Easter period now.
0:02:23 > 0:02:25So with Good Friday, starting with Good Friday,
0:02:25 > 0:02:27you can see North-westerly winds
0:02:27 > 0:02:30again. A lot of dry weather around.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31Best of the weather probably across
0:02:31 > 0:02:35the Southern and Eastern areas of the UK.
0:02:35 > 0:02:37Now, into the Easter weekend itself,
0:02:37 > 0:02:40so certainly nothing like what we've just had.
0:02:40 > 0:02:42Nowhere near as warm. The jet stream is coming
0:02:42 > 0:02:43out of the North-west.
0:02:43 > 0:02:45That's where our air is going to be coming from.
0:02:45 > 0:02:48That's where the weather is going to be coming from.
0:02:48 > 0:02:50High pressure is not quite close enough to the UK,
0:02:50 > 0:02:52but close enough so it looks as though
0:02:52 > 0:02:56maybe these Western and Southwestern areas will have drier weather,
0:02:56 > 0:02:58but cooler air coming in from the North.
0:02:58 > 0:03:00In fact, that air could be cold enough
0:03:00 > 0:03:03to even bring a few wintry showers
0:03:03 > 0:03:06to the tops of the mountains across Scotland.
0:03:06 > 0:03:08And then beyond Easter, just a flavour.
0:03:08 > 0:03:10That cool air stream comes in from the North
0:03:10 > 0:03:13so that's a little bit of a change to the forecast,
0:03:13 > 0:03:14if you were watching yesterday.
0:03:14 > 0:03:17But in the short term, let's have a look at the summary
0:03:17 > 0:03:18for Easter itself.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20Cool North-west winds,
0:03:20 > 0:03:22there'll be some sunshine and showers,
0:03:22 > 0:03:24particularly across Northern areas of the UK,
0:03:24 > 0:03:27and the nights will be a little on the chilly side.
0:03:27 > 0:03:29That's it from me. Thanks for watching.
