0:00:00 > 0:00:01Hi. Here in the UK
0:00:01 > 0:00:04it's more likely to snow at Easter than at Christmas,
0:00:04 > 0:00:06so what of this forthcoming Easter weekend?
0:00:06 > 0:00:09Stay tuned, for the full forecast is coming up.
0:00:09 > 0:00:11A little bit of wintriness, maybe, on Wednesday,
0:00:11 > 0:00:13but it will be limited to the hills of northern Scotland.
0:00:13 > 0:00:16We've got north-westerly winds developing across the country,
0:00:16 > 0:00:18steady and surely, behind this weather front,
0:00:18 > 0:00:20which brings rain initially - Northern Ireland, southern Scotland,
0:00:20 > 0:00:23wet morning on the hills of north-west England.
0:00:23 > 0:00:26And that rain and the weather front pushes its way erratically
0:00:26 > 0:00:29and with less function into parts of Wales,
0:00:29 > 0:00:31the Midlands and East Anglia later on.
0:00:31 > 0:00:34To the south of it, bit more cloud than we've seen in the past few days
0:00:34 > 0:00:36but temperatures still in the mid-teens. North of that,
0:00:36 > 0:00:37it will feel a bit fresher,
0:00:37 > 0:00:40but a brighter day for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
0:00:40 > 0:00:42We could finish the day across the south
0:00:42 > 0:00:44with one or two welcome showers -
0:00:44 > 0:00:46probably not enough as many a garden requires at the moment,
0:00:46 > 0:00:49so that weather front quickly clears as we go into Thursday,
0:00:49 > 0:00:52leaving behind a colder air mass, clearer skies, light winds.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54These are the city-centre temperatures.
0:00:54 > 0:00:57In rural parts, one, two, three degrees certainly likely,
0:00:57 > 0:01:00touch of frost. It's time to wrap up those tender plants once again.
0:01:00 > 0:01:03But it's because we've got a ridge of high pressure to begin Thursday.
0:01:03 > 0:01:05Not a bad day at all if you've got any plans.
0:01:05 > 0:01:08Most places will be dry after that very fresh start.
0:01:08 > 0:01:10We will see increased cloud towards the west through the day,
0:01:10 > 0:01:13with one or two showers, particularly in Western Scotland,
0:01:13 > 0:01:15but for the vast majority
0:01:15 > 0:01:17it's another dry and actually fairly fine day.
0:01:17 > 0:01:19So we go into the Easter weekend, then.
0:01:19 > 0:01:22Good Friday, that area of high pressure to the south of us
0:01:22 > 0:01:24rather than to the south-west,
0:01:24 > 0:01:26and that does allow more flow off the Atlantic.
0:01:26 > 0:01:29Weather fronts you can see on there, nothing substantial about them -
0:01:29 > 0:01:31they will bring thicker cloud in at times
0:01:31 > 0:01:32across the central swathe of the UK.
0:01:32 > 0:01:34Chance of a few showers, but hit and miss -
0:01:34 > 0:01:35not everyone will see rain.
0:01:35 > 0:01:38Some of the south and east predominately dry again.
0:01:38 > 0:01:40Still nice enough in the sunshine. Cool and breezy further north
0:01:40 > 0:01:43with sunshine and just one or two showers.
0:01:43 > 0:01:45To get us into Saturday,
0:01:45 > 0:01:47well, weather front's clearing its way slowly across England and Wales.
0:01:47 > 0:01:50Could start off cloudy. Fairly breezy day on Saturday,
0:01:50 > 0:01:52especially the further north we go,
0:01:52 > 0:01:54but that introduces sunshine and a few showers later.
0:01:54 > 0:01:57Brightest conditions on Saturday further north,
0:01:57 > 0:01:59the greatest chance of a few showers in the south,
0:01:59 > 0:02:01but again, you could easily avoid them.
0:02:01 > 0:02:04The best chance UK-wide of seeing some rain
0:02:04 > 0:02:06will actually be later on Sunday
0:02:06 > 0:02:09as this area of low pressure starts to push its way in.
0:02:09 > 0:02:11Timing of that open to a bit of question at the moment.
0:02:11 > 0:02:13Does look like a good part of the day will be dry and bright
0:02:13 > 0:02:15towards the east before occasional rain pushes in.
0:02:15 > 0:02:17That may be hit and miss in the south.
0:02:17 > 0:02:20Further north, greater chance of some wetter weather,
0:02:20 > 0:02:22particularly across parts of Western Scotland.
0:02:22 > 0:02:24Temperature-wise, though, on Easter Day,
0:02:24 > 0:02:2810 to 15 degrees, around what it should be at this time of year,
0:02:28 > 0:02:30but notably it's going to be a good deal cooler
0:02:30 > 0:02:32than it was on Christmas Day.
0:02:32 > 0:02:36As for snow, well, mainly over the higher ground of the Grampians.
0:02:36 > 0:02:39It will be a typical Easter Day for many.
0:02:39 > 0:02:41To get us into Easter Monday, with a ridge of high pressure building,
0:02:41 > 0:02:44we will start with again that risk of frost
0:02:44 > 0:02:46as temperatures drop overnight,
0:02:46 > 0:02:49but Easter Monday probably UK-wide the driest day,
0:02:49 > 0:02:51with some sunshine for just about all.
0:02:51 > 0:02:54And even though temperatures not as high as they were last week,
0:02:54 > 0:02:57they'll certainly feel pleasant enough in that strong sunshine.
0:02:57 > 0:03:00As for the rest of next week, if you're still on Easter break,
0:03:00 > 0:03:03undulating jet stream to begin with with low pressure to the north-west
0:03:03 > 0:03:06of the UK. That jet stream starts to push through a bit more
0:03:06 > 0:03:07as we go through the week,
0:03:07 > 0:03:10pushing the low pressure to the south and east of the UK,
0:03:10 > 0:03:12and much like as we start Easter weekend,
0:03:12 > 0:03:16high pressure to the west, we drag in our air from the north.
0:03:16 > 0:03:18A fairly cool airflow once again,
0:03:18 > 0:03:21so temperatures will be in the low to mid-teens at very best,
0:03:21 > 0:03:23the risk of some rain here and there -
0:03:23 > 0:03:25nothing too substantial in the south -
0:03:25 > 0:03:28and just the risk of some snow, but only on the hills. Bye for now.
0:03:30 > 0:03:30Havana, baby!
0:03:32 > 0:03:34Ooh! I'm out of control and I love it!
0:03:34 > 0:03:36TYRES SCREECH
0:03:36 > 0:03:37How cool is this?
0:03:37 > 0:03:40This car is a hooligan.
0:03:40 > 0:03:41A hooligan!
0:03:41 > 0:03:42I'm notorious for traction.
0:03:42 > 0:03:44That's one word for it.
