0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello there. Thursday was a day all the plenty of sunshine

0:00:05 > 0:00:07but also some temperature contrast from east to west,

0:00:07 > 0:00:10just 10 or 11 degrees along the east coast,

0:00:10 > 0:00:11but up to 19, 20 degrees

0:00:11 > 0:00:13in the west. Porthmadog in the west of Wales

0:00:13 > 0:00:15seeing 20 Celsius on Thursday and I think

0:00:15 > 0:00:17we'll have a similar sort of day on Friday,

0:00:17 > 0:00:19with a good deal of sunshine

0:00:19 > 0:00:20and again that temperature contrast

0:00:20 > 0:00:22from east to west.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24It's going to be around about 15, 16,

0:00:24 > 0:00:2617 degrees in some parts of Northern Ireland

0:00:26 > 0:00:28through the afternoon with plenty of sunshine

0:00:28 > 0:00:29and still a bit of a breeze,

0:00:29 > 0:00:30but Western Scotland favoured

0:00:30 > 0:00:32for some of the higher temperatures,

0:00:32 > 0:00:34into the upper teens quite widely.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36Contrast that with just 9 or 10 further east

0:00:36 > 0:00:37and there will be some low cloud

0:00:37 > 0:00:38lingering around some coasts

0:00:38 > 0:00:40in the north and east of Scotland,

0:00:40 > 0:00:42but generally a lot of fine and sunny weather.

0:00:42 > 0:00:43Temperature contrasts across

0:00:43 > 0:00:45northern England, 11, 12

0:00:45 > 0:00:46along that in the North Sea coast.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49Get further west and it's 15, maybe 16 degrees.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51Then we run into the cloud

0:00:51 > 0:00:52across East Anglia and the south east.

0:00:52 > 0:00:53It'll be breezy too

0:00:53 > 0:00:55but in spite of all the cloud,

0:00:55 > 0:00:56I don't think we're going to see much,

0:00:56 > 0:00:57if any, in the way of rainfall.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59There may even be a few breaks

0:00:59 > 0:01:00in that cloud along the south coast.

0:01:00 > 0:01:01They'll come and go

0:01:01 > 0:01:03with the breeze and temperatures will

0:01:03 > 0:01:05be around about 15 or so degrees in Cardiff.

0:01:05 > 0:01:06A little bit higher than that

0:01:06 > 0:01:07on the shores of Cardigan Bay,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09into the upper teens here.

0:01:09 > 0:01:10Then as we go through the evening,

0:01:10 > 0:01:12we might see a little bit of extra cloud

0:01:12 > 0:01:13drift its way across the Midlands

0:01:13 > 0:01:14bringing a spot or two of rain

0:01:14 > 0:01:16and also a little bit of rain just creeping

0:01:16 > 0:01:18its way into the far south west,

0:01:18 > 0:01:19but many places will be dry.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21It'll turn chilly, I suppose -

0:01:21 > 0:01:23some major towns and cities into single digits.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25There'll be a touch of frost

0:01:25 > 0:01:26in the Highlands of Scotland.

0:01:26 > 0:01:29Now, as we look towards Saturday,

0:01:29 > 0:01:30we've got this area of low pressure

0:01:30 > 0:01:31to the south of the UK,

0:01:31 > 0:01:33really just a glancing blow in the south-west

0:01:33 > 0:01:35with some rainfall here.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37Most other places will be fine and dry.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39Still with that east or north-easterly wind,

0:01:39 > 0:01:41a bit more in the way of cloud on Saturday,

0:01:41 > 0:01:42maybe a little bit of rain

0:01:42 > 0:01:44to go with that in northern England,

0:01:44 > 0:01:45but most of the rain will be down

0:01:45 > 0:01:47towards the far south-west and even here,

0:01:47 > 0:01:49I don't think it'll last too long.

0:01:49 > 0:01:50And temperatures get to around 16,

0:01:50 > 0:01:5217 degrees in the brighter weather,

0:01:52 > 0:01:53but again on the North Sea coast,

0:01:53 > 0:01:55it's 11 or 12 will be fairly typical.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Second part of the weekend,

0:01:57 > 0:01:59this little area of low pressure

0:01:59 > 0:02:01drifts away towards the near continent

0:02:01 > 0:02:03and then the winds fall quite light

0:02:03 > 0:02:04across most parts of the UK.

0:02:04 > 0:02:05There's still a bit of a breeze

0:02:05 > 0:02:08for the North Sea coastal areas on Sunday

0:02:08 > 0:02:09and a fair bit of cloud again,

0:02:09 > 0:02:10so, again, it's going to stay

0:02:10 > 0:02:12on the cool side here, but head away

0:02:12 > 0:02:13from the immediate coast

0:02:13 > 0:02:14and we've got some dry

0:02:14 > 0:02:16and bright weather, some spells of sunshine,

0:02:16 > 0:02:1716, 17 degrees in the sunshine,

0:02:17 > 0:02:20light winds, that will feel very pleasant indeed,

0:02:20 > 0:02:22but always cooler around for that North Sea coast.

0:02:22 > 0:02:23As we look towards the start of the new week,

0:02:23 > 0:02:25we've got this area of low pressure

0:02:25 > 0:02:26to the west of us, trying to throw

0:02:26 > 0:02:28the weather fronts towards us, but this ridge of

0:02:28 > 0:02:30high pressure is going to keep things

0:02:30 > 0:02:32pretty quiet into Monday.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34Still a keen breeze for the North Sea coast.

0:02:34 > 0:02:35Away from there, light winds,

0:02:35 > 0:02:37sunny spells and again it's 15, 16,

0:02:37 > 0:02:4017 degrees, pleasant enough in the sunshine,

0:02:40 > 0:02:43but always cooler down the eastern coast.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45By Tuesday, weather fronts trying to push their way

0:02:45 > 0:02:47into the north-west of the UK,

0:02:47 > 0:02:48might just bring a bit of extra cloud

0:02:48 > 0:02:51and maybe a few spots of rain into Northern Ireland,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53but elsewhere it looks like another decent day.

0:02:53 > 0:02:54Though the pattern does repeat,

0:02:54 > 0:02:56cooler down the North Sea coast

0:02:56 > 0:02:57with a fair bit of cloud.

0:02:57 > 0:02:58Central and western areas seeing the best

0:02:58 > 0:03:00of the spells of sunshine and the highest

0:03:00 > 0:03:02of the temperatures the middle to upper teens.

0:03:02 > 0:03:03And then later next week -

0:03:03 > 0:03:05the middle of the week looks pretty quiet,

0:03:05 > 0:03:06Wednesday is a decent day for most,

0:03:06 > 0:03:08but through Thursday, Friday, Saturday,

0:03:08 > 0:03:10we start to see low-pressure systems

0:03:10 > 0:03:11heading our way.

0:03:11 > 0:03:12This one will be filling

0:03:12 > 0:03:14and this one to the north-west

0:03:14 > 0:03:15looks like it'll become a dominant

0:03:15 > 0:03:17low that will be driving our weather

0:03:17 > 0:03:20and with that comes something a bit more unsettled. It'll be

0:03:20 > 0:03:22a gradual change, but we're looking at some stronger winds developing

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and that's going to drag in some showers

0:03:25 > 0:03:26or some longer spells of rain

0:03:26 > 0:03:27and temperatures will be

0:03:27 > 0:03:30a little bit below where they should be, on the chilly side.
