0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello there. It's been lovely in Western Scotland for several days

0:00:05 > 0:00:09now, plenty of sunshine and some warmth. And we did it again on

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Friday. We saw a good deal of sunshine and temperatures got to

0:00:12 > 0:00:1520 Celsius in the north-west Highlands. Further east, you got

0:00:15 > 0:00:18that breeze coming in across a cool North Sea, so whether you were in

0:00:18 > 0:00:20the sunshine or underneath the cloud, temperatures were only

0:00:20 > 0:00:2311 degrees and we'll see similar contrasts over the coming few days.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26Certainly a lot more cloud in the sky to start the weekend,

0:00:26 > 0:00:27for England and Wales but any rain

0:00:27 > 0:00:29really confined to the far south-west.

0:00:29 > 0:00:32Looks like it will be another lovely day further north in Scotland,

0:00:32 > 0:00:35although the north coasts may well be a bit on the cloudy side

0:00:35 > 0:00:38but the western side again doing very well, some sunshine

0:00:38 > 0:00:40and some warmth, 16 or so in Glasgow, we'll go higher

0:00:40 > 0:00:42than that in the north-west Highlands.

0:00:42 > 0:00:4514 or 15 in Northern Ireland through the afternoon, some

0:00:45 > 0:00:48spells of sunshine. But for northern England, some brighter interludes

0:00:48 > 0:00:51but again cool down that North Sea coast. A lot of cloud through the

0:00:51 > 0:00:54Midlands and across Wales too but generally it's a dry day -

0:00:54 > 0:00:5715 degrees in Cardiff, similar in Exeter, but some rain

0:00:57 > 0:01:00not too far away from Exeter. And that rain, well, it doesn't last

0:01:00 > 0:01:02too long, it will eventually ease away towards the south

0:01:02 > 0:01:05through the evening. And then we're dry pretty much everywhere,

0:01:05 > 0:01:08although through the small hours of the morning we might just see

0:01:08 > 0:01:11a little bit of rain creeping its way into the far north of Scotland.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14And by dawn on Sunday, most of the major towns and cities will be

0:01:14 > 0:01:17around about seven or eight degrees, probably hanging onto

0:01:17 > 0:01:19double figures in the far south-west.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22Second part of the weekend - we've got high pressure in charge

0:01:22 > 0:01:25but there is a bit of a breeze down the eastern coast in particular.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27Further west, the winds will be a good deal lighter.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30And that breeze will bring some low cloud with it and that in

0:01:30 > 0:01:32turn will bring some light rain, a few pockets of drizzle.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34But away from there,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37I think most places will be fine and dry with variable amounts of cloud.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40Some sunshine to be had. And in the sunshine, 15 or 16 degrees,

0:01:40 > 0:01:42not so bad. Could go a few degrees higher than that in

0:01:42 > 0:01:45Northern Ireland but again along that North Sea coast

0:01:45 > 0:01:47it's 10, 11 or 12 degrees. Now as we get on to the start of the

0:01:47 > 0:01:50new week, those isobars get a bit of a squeeze on them into the

0:01:50 > 0:01:51eastern side of the UK.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54So quite a breeze blowing down from the north and north-east on Monday.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56Again bringing some low cloud,

0:01:56 > 0:01:58maybe some pockets of light rain and drizzle.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01But again, away from the east coast, it's dry and bright,

0:02:01 > 0:02:03variable amounts of cloud and a good deal warmer the further south

0:02:03 > 0:02:06and west you go, 16 degrees in Plymouth,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09but again only 10 or 11 along that North Sea coast.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12As we head on into Tuesday, we've still got high pressure

0:02:12 > 0:02:14in charge of our weather, the isobars easing apart,

0:02:14 > 0:02:16so the winds are not quite so strong but there's a noticeable

0:02:16 > 0:02:19breeze for Lincolnshire, East Anglia and the South East.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22A lot of dry weather to be had on Tuesday. Fairly cloudy.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24And again, 11 degrees along that North Sea coast,

0:02:24 > 0:02:27probably getting up to 14s and 15s at the very best.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30Through the middle of the week, high pressure still in charge

0:02:30 > 0:02:32but to the north-west, low pressure is gathering and

0:02:32 > 0:02:34low pressure is gathering to the south-west as well.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37But actually, midweek for most parts it's a decent day,

0:02:37 > 0:02:39maybe a few showers in the far north of Scotland

0:02:39 > 0:02:42but most places will be fine and dry with a top temperature around about

0:02:42 > 0:02:4617 or 18 degrees. And then as we head on to the latter part

0:02:46 > 0:02:49of next week, those areas of low pressure look like

0:02:49 > 0:02:51they'll begin to bring their influence towards us.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54So we are going to see the cloud building, we'll see some rain

0:02:54 > 0:02:56at times and the winds will be picking up as well.

0:02:56 > 0:03:00And there will be some showers to the north-west of the UK as well.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Now if you're underneath the clouds and you get some rain,

0:03:03 > 0:03:06it will feel on the cool side towards the end of next week.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09We'll be in the low to middle teens, whereas where you get some

0:03:09 > 0:03:12sunshine and there's dry and bright intervals, I think

0:03:12 > 0:03:15we'll be in the upper teens, so it should feel pleasant enough.

0:03:15 > 0:03:17But those temperatures will be up and down as those bands of

0:03:17 > 0:03:19rain move through. So, yes, it is turning a bit more

0:03:19 > 0:03:22unsettled later next week, the winds will be picking up.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24There will be some showers or longer spells of rain,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26but it's certainly not all doom and gloom -

0:03:26 > 0:03:29there should be some drier, brighter and warmer interludes.
