0:00:02 > 0:00:03It's been a very dry week so far,

0:00:03 > 0:00:06lots of beautiful weather around on Wednesday,

0:00:06 > 0:00:08but our gardens are desperate for rain.

0:00:08 > 0:00:12There is some rain on the way but not everybody is going to get it.

0:00:12 > 0:00:14One thing we are going to notice,

0:00:14 > 0:00:16certainly across the southern half of the UK,

0:00:16 > 0:00:19is the humidity. It will be rising

0:00:19 > 0:00:22as warm air pushes in from the south,

0:00:22 > 0:00:25along with pent-up energy in the atmosphere

0:00:25 > 0:00:26and the risk of thunderstorms.

0:00:26 > 0:00:30But the short term is looking dry and clear

0:00:30 > 0:00:31across most of the UK.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33By Thursday morning,

0:00:33 > 0:00:35there might be showers creeping into southern

0:00:35 > 0:00:37or south-western parts of the UK,

0:00:37 > 0:00:39maybe a few spots of rain in Orkney.

0:00:39 > 0:00:43Not desperately cold during Wednesday night.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46Here's a look at the morning picture.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Already showers and increasing cloud

0:00:48 > 0:00:51across southern portions of the UK,

0:00:51 > 0:00:53but for North Wales, the Midlands

0:00:53 > 0:00:54and northwards of that,

0:00:54 > 0:00:57the weather is looking beautiful,

0:00:57 > 0:00:58so more sunshine on the way,

0:00:58 > 0:01:00pleasant temperatures,

0:01:00 > 0:01:02light winds, 9 or 10 degrees,

0:01:02 > 0:01:04so a beautiful start to the day

0:01:04 > 0:01:07across the majority of the country.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Then into the afternoon,

0:01:09 > 0:01:10the clouds and humidity keep rising -

0:01:10 > 0:01:13that's when the fun and games begin.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16This is when we could see some thunderstorms.

0:01:16 > 0:01:18They will be very hit and miss,

0:01:18 > 0:01:20there won't be too many of them,

0:01:20 > 0:01:22and those who do catch the storms

0:01:22 > 0:01:25could experience some pretty brief big downpours,

0:01:25 > 0:01:26but many will have a bright day

0:01:26 > 0:01:29with hazy sunshine and it'll feel warm

0:01:29 > 0:01:32and humid. There might be more substantial rain

0:01:32 > 0:01:35on Thursday night, and this trend

0:01:35 > 0:01:37will continue into Friday,

0:01:37 > 0:01:39and these south-westerly winds

0:01:39 > 0:01:41will keep on scooping up the moisture,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43and the risk of thunderstorms

0:01:43 > 0:01:46pushing all of that weather in our direction.

0:01:46 > 0:01:47So, once again, on Friday,

0:01:47 > 0:01:49a potential for storms

0:01:49 > 0:01:51across central and southern parts

0:01:51 > 0:01:54during the afternoon. Maybe even the morning.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56Again, it'll feel humid and quite warm,

0:01:56 > 0:01:59still getting up to about 20 degrees in London.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02That cloudier weather will probably push

0:02:02 > 0:02:05further northwards as we go into Saturday,

0:02:05 > 0:02:07so temporarily drying out, just about,

0:02:07 > 0:02:09in the south, and then this weather front,

0:02:09 > 0:02:11with fresher air, will push its way

0:02:11 > 0:02:13in the direction of the UK for Sunday.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15This is the weather front

0:02:15 > 0:02:17that's going to bring a little rain,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19some showers in the afternoon,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21but fresher Atlantic air,

0:02:21 > 0:02:23so it won't be quite so humid.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Temperatures won't be much different,

0:02:26 > 0:02:2815 to 20 degrees,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30but it won't be quite as close.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32That's Sunday's forecast.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34How about into next week?

0:02:34 > 0:02:37What we're looking at is a daisy chain of low pressures

0:02:37 > 0:02:40approaching the UK, and this is a weather front

0:02:40 > 0:02:43scooping up moisture from the south

0:02:43 > 0:02:45and sending some pretty heavy rain

0:02:45 > 0:02:47into western parts of the UK.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50With these low pressures in the North Atlantic,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52that moisture and those winds

0:02:52 > 0:02:55will be coming in from the southwest

0:02:55 > 0:02:57and with that, a potential

0:02:57 > 0:02:58for a surge of real warmth

0:02:58 > 0:03:00heading our way,

0:03:00 > 0:03:02particularly to south-eastern parts.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04It could even warm up to 25 degrees

0:03:04 > 0:03:06between Monday and Wednesday.

0:03:06 > 0:03:08It's not a guarantee though.

0:03:08 > 0:03:10More western and north-western parts

0:03:10 > 0:03:12are likely to hang onto cooler,

0:03:12 > 0:03:14cloudier conditions

0:03:14 > 0:03:16and some outbreaks of rain, at least from time to time.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18So here's the summary for next week.

0:03:18 > 0:03:22It looks like a warm start with a bit of rain in north-western areas,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24and much fresher conditions.

0:03:24 > 0:03:25Then it'll probably cool off

0:03:25 > 0:03:27towards the end of the week.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29Thanks for watching.
